ESET Insiders cutting_edgetech 25 Posted June 18, 2013 ESET Insiders Share Posted June 18, 2013 I love the new forum, and it's layout. It looks very professional, and it's easy to navigate. In my opinion it's very well organized, and provides easy access to whatever one may be looking for. Someone brand new to the forum should be able to navigate the site with ease. I do have some advice to provide an even better user experience. There should be a section on the forum with instructions on how to submit infected links, phishing sites, and malware samples to Eset. NOD 32 allows one to submit a suspicious file, false positive, or other sample from withing NOD 32 itself. Someone new to Eset may not know this though so list instructions for reporting suspicous files in the thread as well. All information related to reporting threats should be in one centralized location. Also list instructions for reporting infected links, and phishing sites to Eset. I see no where for doing this within NOD 32 itself. All instructions for reporting any type of threat should be in one centralized location. Not having this information easy to find will only hurt Eset. Allow your users / fan base to help you! We want to help you. I've been using Eset for many years, and I myself have much difficulty finding this information on the site. I looked for an address with instruction on how to submit a suspected infected site yesterday, but was unable to find it on Eset's website. I would like to see a dedicated section for this on the forum. Provide all this information in a thread, and then close the thread. ESET Moderators foneil 342 Posted June 18, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks for the feedback @cutting_edgetech. We are working on improving and streamlining the process for submitting infected links, phishing sites, malware samples and false positives. We will definitely keep you informed of the changes we implement. For now, we have the following resources for submitting suspicious files: In the Malware Finding and Cleaning subforum there is a Pinned thread titled ESET Has Blocked My Site - What To Do?. This subforum and thread encompasses all the ways users have to submit this content. The primary location on ESET.com for submitting malware, and for instructions, is the ESET Knowledgebase: How do I submit a virus, website or potential false positive sample to ESET's lab? Additionally, you wrote that you couldn't find the information after searching on "Eset's website", can you provide a few more details about where and how you searched, becauset the ESET Knowledgebase article linked above (SOLN141) should have resulted in your search. I looked for an address with instruction on how to submit a suspected infected site yesterday, but was unable to find it on Eset's website. I would like to see a dedicated section for this on the forum. Supreme Auto City

Janus 210
Hello Eset (what became of the poll feature) Would it or could it be an idea to introduce a poll, about e.g. on one of Eset's beta 7 new features?. A poll can give a selective point of view on a special area of a product, and is an another way of getting a feedback. And at the same time very illustrative. The function "polls" were introduced in the making of this new forum, but was if I remember right, limited so it was only the moderators that could create a poll. If it is a function that is still in play, then it could be the right time with the release of the new beta. Regards, Janus I think this might be something good to add in a week or two when people have had the beta for a while. This allows people to get past their initial reactions and base their answers about each feature on having used those features for a few weeks. Our new SysTray icon is a great example of initial shock followed by change of opinion or at least a dimming of those initial feelings. Former ESET Employees dwomack 160 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Former ESET Employees Share Posted June 24, 2013 Quick Google search for IP Board FAQ brought it right up: hxxp://www.invisionpower.com/support/faqs They also host their own Support Forums specifically for IPB related issues. Guest Big Sur
The ESET forums over at the Wilders Security Forums should have been closed and archived at the least weeks ago. Nothing of the kind. Is ESET in fact keeping up two official support forums for yet another year to come? No doubt, over at Wilders you do get far more exposure, that's for sure . So what is is going to be? Guest Big Sur
No reply fom ESET. You guys should have at least the decency to reply to open questions waiting for a reply over at the ESET forum at Wilders Security forums for days now. Please do respect your clients. And for the sake of your customers make up your mind pretty soon: close down your forum over at Wilders or shut down this one. Bloody shame the way ESET handles this. ESET Moderators Aryeh Goretsky 386 Posted July 16, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2013 Hello, We are maintaining support in both forums for the time being, but the transition from the Wilders Security Forums is already well underway. Currently, there are several open message threads there in which ESET staff are monitoring and replying. I would suggest, though, for purposes of continuity that you create an account on the ESET Security Forum and post any outstanding questions that you may have here. Near_Far 4
I've seen a couple of posts here with live links to executables. I'm pretty sure one of those posts had unsafe links since the OP was complaining about ESET blocking his site. The other post's link perhaps wasn't unsafe, however I would have preferred that link not be live, just in case. I mean, from an ESET staff member is one thing, but from someone who visits this forum as a guest or a new member, how are we to know that person's true intentions? I know we should all practice safe internet usage and be careful what we click on, but in the interests of safety, perhaps mods could remove the live links that are questionable. Former ESET Employees dwomack 160 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Former ESET Employees Share Posted July 26, 2013 Thank you, @Near_Far. I took care of those threads and I'm scanning the forums for more. Unless the link to an executable file comes from ESET Staff, it shouldn't be posted publicly on the forums. There are times when ESET Staff will request a file but that should always be posted via direct PM.

Today (Friday 02 August) I decided to visit Wilders to see if there was any new information about ESET there, and I couldn't find any Eset forum, not even a closed but available-to-read forum. However, I may have simply overlooked Eset because once I had learned where the Eset info was located, I had the link and didn't need to note how I got there. Question: Am I right to think that everything that Eset thought was useful at Wilders has moved to Eset's Security Forum? R.N. SweX 871
You can add an Avatar if you like, but I don't think it's possible to add images to the signature area, wich I think is good since they can be more annoying than useful IMHO. siljaline 57
I am unable to use any board functionality with IE 11, many are reporting the same issues replying to or creating new posts.Fortunately I use Mozilla Firefox in addition to IE 11. This may be one the reasons why there is not as much board views or traffic as was expected. Also: there is a distinct lack of information as to how to use the board features. These were promised a good while ago but not posted. That may be why some still wish ESET support was still at Wilders.
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,158 Posted December 5, 2013 ESET Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2013 Hello Siljaline, we are aware of issues with the latest IE 11. The vendor is working on them and IE 11 should be fully supported in next release. Regarding the board features we have two videos regarding the forum, some features are explained: Welcome to the ESET Security Forum! and Using the ESET Security Forums: Viewing content, searching and notifications Our KB team is considering more of them, you can suggest what is most needed and I can forward the suggestions to them. Thank you. winnyqq
Nizrax000 2
A night mode would be nice. Basically, colour inversion. It's kind of jarring how bright it is like this. I'm not complaining, mind you, just saying. It's overall aesthetically pleasing and feels "neat" and "professional" like this, though.
