  1. Please create a thread for it in the forum that fits the ESET product you're using and we'll help you there. Thanks for joining us!
  2. That's a good way to get in direct contact with our customer care team, but not necessarily our development team. If you see anything in our "Future changes to..." threads (Like the one here for Smart Security or here for NOD32 Antivirus) that you agree with or would also like to see, feel free to click the green up arrow button in their response. That's one way to "Vote this post up" There's also nothing wrong with replying to their response, quoting it, and adding your voice to also wanting to see this idea or enhancement implemented or letting us know you're also having that problem. Both will work. With other threads, where someone's posted about a specific issue that matches one you're also having, it's good to read through the responses, try the suggested solutions (or the best answer if there is one) and if none of them have resolved the issue for you, let us know by replying to the same thread and sharing any information (non-personal of course) that you think might be helpful in narrowing down the potential cause/solution for our community of tech/moderators. It's in working together that we reach our goals and help everyone find resolution. Thanks and glad you've joined us!
  3. Our apologies for the delay in approving your posts. I'll get that taken care of now and answer what I can.
  4. We allow (and encourage) users to help other users. In this particular case, if a user makes a feature request and a user either sees a way the issue causing this feature request can be resolved, we absolutely encourage that user to share their knowledge. There may be other cases where one request sparks an idea for another. That's also acceptable. We're always looking for ways to improve the product and user experience. Anything that brings about positive change is welcomed and should continue to be encouraged.
  5. Good idea, @SweX. I'll suggest it.
  6. To change your email and/or password: Click your name at the top right of the window Click My Settings In the menu on the left, click Email & Password Enter your new email and/or password
  7. Hi@clydeman there are many possible ways to customize or set up ESET NOD32 Antivirus. Do you remember anything specific you were trying to set it up for?
  8. Thank you, @Near_Far. I took care of those threads and I'm scanning the forums for more. Unless the link to an executable file comes from ESET Staff, it shouldn't be posted publicly on the forums. There are times when ESET Staff will request a file but that should always be posted via direct PM.
  9. Thanks for all your work on the video. It might be cool to see more videos that explain some of the more in-depth features of the forum.
  10. Quick Google search for IP Board FAQ brought it right up: hxxp://www.invisionpower.com/support/faqs They also host their own Support Forums specifically for IPB related issues.
  11. I think this might be something good to add in a week or two when people have had the beta for a while. This allows people to get past their initial reactions and base their answers about each feature on having used those features for a few weeks. Our new SysTray icon is a great example of initial shock followed by change of opinion or at least a dimming of those initial feelings.
  12. This is your place to let us know about technical issues and give other general feedback about the Forum. Having trouble signing into the Forum? Unable to create a topic or post a reply? Getting any error messages on the Forum? Have any specific issues with anything at all related directly to the design or functionality of the Forum? Let us know! We cannot always impliment your suggestions but we always take your feedback seriously. Be respectful, be thorough and follow the Rules of the Forum. PLEASE do not post product support-related questions in this topic.
  13. Welcome to the ESET Security Forum! We are a widely diverse community of people and we’ve created this thread to allow you to introduce yourself to us and learn a little about who we are. Please feel free to write a short post about you and also answer the questions below. When you’re done reading through this thread, check out our dedicated FAQ section and Help Files. How did you find the ESET Security Forum? What OS are you running? What AV are you running? What’s an interesting fact about you? I'll start out. Hey everyone! I'm DWomack and I've been with ESET since 2009. I started out working in Customer Care-Home Support and last July became the first (and so far only) Online Community Specialist at ESET North America. I was part of the awesome team that helped create the forums and I'm excited about helping all our users and prospective users here and one all our social networks. At home I have two main laptop I use running Win7 on one and Win8 on the other. I have ESS v6 running on the Win8 and I'm testing EAV v7 Beta on Win7. Interesting fact, I am an out-of-practice musician (multiple instruments but mostly trumpet and guitar) and singer. I'm out of practice only in that I haven't picked up the trumpet in about 8 years and I don't pick up the guitar as much as I'd like to. Music is my soul and I'm hoping to get back into school studying music and performing again at some point.
  14. Things To Do: Join the conversation! This Forum cannot succeed without your participation and support. Sit back, relax and join in on some light-hearted conversation, get to know each other and share your interests, hobbies, views, etc. Keep your topics and posts clean. This is a family-friendly forum. All users should be made to feel comfortable and welcome here. Some users may be of a young age or might be viewing these forums from work or in a public setting. Please keep this in mind when creating a new topic or posting a reply. Be friendly and respectful. Members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and so their opinions and views will be very different at times. Also, for many English is not their primary language. Make an effort to understand the other person’s point of view before posting a reply. Your patience will be greatly appreciated. Keep Calm and Chat On. Sometimes the topic of a conversation can bring out strong emotions with those involved. If you find yourself becoming upset by something that has been posted, step away from the conversation for a while and return to it when you feel calm. If you feel that you cannot respond to a topic or post in a calm and respectful manner, it’s probably best to leave the conversation completely. Report violating posts or topics. If you feel a post or topic violates the Terms of Use or Forum Rules, please report the offending post or topic and a member of The Moderating Team will address it. Many times these issues can be handled privately and quietly. Things NOT To Do: Do NOT violate the Terms of Use or Forum Rules. While this is a place to discuss non-support related topics, all forum rules still apply. Any post or topic that violates the Forum Rules will be removed and the users found in violation may face disciplinary action. Do NOT post topics of controversial subject matter. This includes but is not limited to ethics, morals, philosophies, politics, laws and religion. ESET Moderator decision on what is deemed unsuitable for the forum is final. If the topic is light-hearted and family-friendly, it will have a better chance of surviving and even thriving. Do NOT post ESET-related support questions in General Discussion. If you need support for your ESET product or have other ESET-related support questions, comments or inquiries, please post them in the appropriate Forum for that product or topic. Do NOT hijack a topic. Stick to the original subject of the conversation. If you wish to discuss another subject, feel free to create a new topic on that subject. Most of these are common sense and general etiquette in any conversational setting. These guidelines were created to keep the ESET Security Forum enjoyable for everyone. We thank you in advance, for your cooperation. If you have any suggestions or feedback regarding these guidelines, please contact a member of The Moderation Team.
