  4. Hello, I'm seeking advice please on using the Mail app in Windows 10. Currently ESET Smart Security is protecting my incoming emails arriving in Outlook. However, if I were to ditch Outlook and instead use the Windows 10 Mail app (which I understand ESET does not support), would anything be scanning my emails arriving in Mail? Would I have any email protection, as it appears that ESET switches off Windows Defender? To put it another way, does ESET prevent me from safely using the Windows 10 Mail app. I'd be grateful for any insight or advice. Tony
  5. Hi there, I upgraded a customer to Mail Security 6.3 last week and since then lots of legit emails are being detected as spam. What I've noticed in the logs is the entry "URL (domain.com) found on cloud blacklist", with domain.com being the customers own domain name, and it's affecting reply emails, so Eset is picking the domain name out of the email signature I'm guessing. The thing is I cannot find what blacklist this domain is on and I am not convinced it is one. I spoke to Eset support and he couldn't find it any blacklists and also couldn't tell me what the 'cloud blacklist' is, I've added the domain to 'Ignored Body Domain list' which has made no difference. I'm not using any RBL or DNSBL servers. Can anyone offer any help or advice? Thanks.
  6. I have install the Mail Security on two Exchange 2016 servers. But I found I can't scan the mailbox database. It shows " Failed to load public folders. Server certificate error" as attachment. I'm sure our Exchange Public Cert is ok, and the public folders is also ok. I don't know why mail security shows that, waiting for your opinion, thanks!

  8. Hello, When i activate Addin ESET(v6.3) in Outlook 2010, when i open a mail from file directory (not outlook), this mail is loading to outlook inbox. If i desactivate addin, when i open a file mail, it's ok. This mail is not load in outlook inbox. What configuration in ESET can make this comportement? Can i desactivate this "autoload in inbox" to outlook? thanks
  9. I have a question regarding mail security I have a SBS 2011 server with ESET Nod32 anti-virus which has worked well for a number of years but my users are experiencing high amounts of spam if I install Eset mail security will this replace the A/V ? Jason
  10. In outlook 2010, I get a popup from the Anti-phishing module about a website blocked when switching through emails, but it's not with every email. I have run a virus scan and found nothing. I haven't clicked on anything in the body of any emails and there is nothing trying to send in the outbox. I can't seem to narrow down what is causing this. Any suggestions about this behavior?
  11. Hi, I'm using Eset Mail Security 6.3.10005.2 to protect an Exchange Server. These days, I'm having issues with users receiving a bunch of fake NDR and I can't find a way to block or quarantine them. Any ideas, please?
  12. Currently me ESET Smart Security 9 sits as usual, being quiet. However as soon as Outlook 2016 is opened things go very wrong! Firstly, Outlook usually hangs on opening the client, waiting for the ESET plugin to begin. Once Outlook is open, ekern.exe shoots up using 100% CPU (100% of a core), and the memory goes out of control. Normally it sits around 150MB, but with outlook I've seen it grow to over 800MB of memory!! The ESET GUI does not show any files being scanned at all. On a plus side, to resolve this I took the following steps: Uninstalled ESET and re-installed Uninstalled Office 2016 and re-installed Clean install of Windows 10 from media (not refresh) None of these solve my issues at all! Does ESET have a problem with POP accounts, especially with very large ones? I have a second Windows 10 machine with outlook 2016 which poses no problems with ESET on it, but that only has two Exchange accounts whilst my main machine (one with the problems) has the same Exchange and a POP account. The POP currently is at ~3GB file. Any help?

I have set up rules in the Rules config section to do the following: 1. smart block of all exe files (also included *.scr) 2. dangerous executables to block among other extensions *.scr on of my users got an email with a zip file. inside the zip was another zip and inside it a filename with scr extension. How did the scr file passed both rules and got to my user mailbox? Doesn't the Rules config search inside attached archives for blocked files?
  14. I just started to re-install my Window 7 Ultimate Had a couple of experiments during this errors, so i will jump in a bit on how i know it was ESS. So when i finish installing my fresh O.S. the first program i installed is mozilla, and then Chrome. It works fine, up until i installed ESS and it Crashes my Chrome ! I spend time searching around the block how to fix this issue, but no avail. I do not know if its the f5 or HIPS, or Firewall. Anybody who can help me with this? Please? Thank you.
  15. Until recently I used Windows 7 / Em Client / McAfee anti-virus. I then changed to Windows 10 / Em Client / McAfee anti-virus. No problem. I then swapped McAfee for ESET Endpoint and Em Client seems to have stopped working. So I tried Thunderbird and that works ok with Endpoint. I'm therefore tempted to think Endpoint is blocking Em Client. However, if I temporarily turn off Endpoint completely, or turn off IMAP protocol checking, Em Client still doesn't seem to work. So could Endpoint still be getting in the way somehow, or is the fact that Em Client stopped working at the same time as I switched from McAfee to Endpoint a red herring? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  16. Hi ESET Community, ESET AU support is taking a little bit longer than I'd like to get back to me (because I'm admittedly rather impatient.) I am currently investigating rolling out ESET EndPoint antivirus to a domain of 50+ computers. We have a document containing what ESET identifies as Win32/Kryptic.EMBF that I'm currently using for testing, as we had a PC recently infected via this document. When emailled to me yesterday, this document was collected from my email and moved to infected items (which I expect). The copy in a folder on my desktop was also picked up and removed when accessing the directory in question. I subsequently installed EndPoint antivirus on my Manager's machine with the same policies, and did the same as a demonstration, however unfortunately, it was not picked up in his email, nor in a folder on his desktop. What is more worrying is that my manager has re-sent the file to me today, and while it was previously detected on this PC, in this case it was not detected by ESET EndPoint Secuirty. I have also saved and opened the infected document with no interference from ESET. No alterations have been made to the configuration of my PC the item has not been marked as safe no directories are ignored Email scanning is enabled Realtime protection is enabled Document scanning is enabled Both PUA options are enabled Detection of suspicious applications is enabled. Scanning the file manually, the log entries are as follows:
  17. Hello, We use Eset Endpoint Security Nod 32 v 5.x and Eset Mail Security v 4.3x After extension of our licences, nod works super, but mail security not. On the one hand recognizes the software the new date, but on the other hand it says the lices is run out... (see picture) Even a restart didn't solve the Problem... I don't understand what is going on... Can anybody help me?
  18. I am trying to configure the Email client protection so that e-mail attachments identified as infected can be recovered in case of a false positive. We are using Outlook 2010 through 2016 with enabled ESET Outlook integration. The server is Exchange 2010. Under - Advanced Setup - Email client protection - Threatsense Parameters - Cleaning, I configured "No Cleaning" to get a dialog of available actions. When an infected email is found, the dialog is shown, and a click on "More info" shows that the option "Copy to Quarantine" is checked. However, none of the available actions (Delete or No action) actually copies the attached file to quarantine (quarantine stays empty). A click on "Delete" removes the attachment and moves the e-mail to the "Infected Items" folder. No copy of the attachment can be found in quarantine (Main ESET Window - Tools - Quarantine). A click on "No action" moves the e-mail to the "Infected Items" folder without touching the attachment Is there another separate quarantine location dedicated to the email client protection or am I missing the correct configuration option?   19. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and purchased SMart Security 9. I use Mail V 17.6416.42001.0, IMAP. The antispam doesn't seem to be working, I'm getting plenty of spam that I've avoided for years, and I don't even have the option to mark something as spam. Under the Protection Statistics for email client protection and email client antispam protection it shows that nothing is even being scanned, all objects equal 0. Do I have to enable antispam through an option somewhere? Is windows 10 Mail not supported? Please advise. I've tried re-installing ESET SS9 to see if it would help, but it is still the same.
  20. Hi, I have recently installed ESET Smart Security. This resulted in two new files called "ESET Antispam" and "ESET Antispam (this computer only)" being installed with one of my e-mail accounts in Outlook 2016 (IMAP). Now there is the problem that the mails in the first of these files cannot be deleted. The "ESET Antispam" file does not appear in the list of the IMAP files I am subscribed and thus cannot be removed completely either. Has anybody got an idea how to tackle this problem?   22. I have been unable to sync/receive incoming email for the last day or so. When I turn off Email Client Protection I receive emails fine. I have had no problems sending emails. I am using Windows 10 and eMclient (but also tested on Mailbird and has the same problem). Thanks, I
  23. Hi! I wanna know, if it is possible for a Malware to steal all the contact list on your e-mail (outlook for example), to spam them too. It is a doubt that I have, because sometime, the users of the company are victims of some suspicious links on e.mails, and apparently the PC is not inffected, but I think that the malware did something else (like steal the contact list). Regards!
  24. ekrn.exe keeps crashing every time NOD32 detects a virus/troja in e-mail. After threat is found, crash follows. I am using Windows 10 64bit (one day old clean install), latest Thunderbird (38.6.0) and latest NOD32 Antivirus (9.0.375.0). Thunderbird is using IMAP. Is there anything I can do to fix it? What can be done, what are my options to get this working? If I can provide any more info, just ask. Thank you!   25. After installing 9.0.349, Outlook 2016 gets stuck in a send/ receive and never completes. Existing emails are downloaded but the progress indicator never stops and new emails are not received as they come in. This behavior stops if I uninstall ESET and resumes again after a reinstall. I've tried disabling the Outlook integration both from inside ESET and from Outlook but that didn't make a difference. I've even reinstalled Windows 10 several times. Not really sure what else to do. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it. If not, is there some way to get an official installer for 9.0.318? Thanks.
