  1. Also, resellers in various countries may offer different packages, these are not set universally.
  2. If you can reproduce the issue and see the difference between a state where our product is installed and where it is not, please contact the local customer care as further logs will need to be analyzed. Thank you.
  3. Hello, Thank you for the positive feedback. Our new GUI now allows for rtl languages, so it may make adding support for your language easier in the future.
  4. Hello, we are aware of the issue. We appreciate your patience while we prepare an updated version that would fix this.
  5. Can you please post a screenshot of the home screen and of the settings entry? Once you disable Anti-theft, there should be no messages about it.
  6. RNFolsom, if there is anything people here were trying to explain, it is this: Now, as everything has been said and I don't see that further discussion would bring any resolution, I am locking this thread, thanks to everyone who participated.
  7. That is true. And as for the "knowledgable" people - you can always check the poster's number of Kudos, which means how many times their post was "upvoted", i.e. helpful to the others. ESET Moderators are just ESET employees who look after the forum. As for the newer version, shortly after release, it can be downloaded manually. After we have enough feedback that the transition was smooth, we offer the update to everybody via an in-product update mechanism.
  8. Hello RNFolsom, I asked you to PM me, which means to send a Private Message via the forum's messaging system. But since you replied here, I will as well. As literally everybody in this thread explained to you, compatibility with Windows 10 is only one of the changed things in the newer version. The changelog contains more entries than just that one, so the rest of the changed things applies to every OS, including yours. So there indeed IS a reason to upgrade (contrary to what the support representative told you, maybe he didn't know), and let me repeat after everybody else, the most important change of those is "Internal product security hardening against targeted attacks" - that is for every OS, so it is not true that if you don't have Windows 10 you have no reason to upgrade. I hope this is clear enough. Thanks for your understanding.
  9. I tested the issue and the websites were detected correctly all the time. However, when launching Banking & Payment protection separately, it opened IE even though Chrome was set as default. I reported this as a bug, thank you
  10. Google may have indexed an older version of our website, as we only released v9 yesterday. Now when you download ESET Smart Security, it will be version 9. By using our installer, you don't need to choose 32 or 64 bit version, it will detect and install the correct version automatically. In case you want to download the full installer in your preferred version (32 or 64 bit), click on "More options" and you will be able to switch to an Offline installer, where you can select 32 or 64 bit version.
  11. Not as much for you, as for everybody else. (In case our product detected a new threat on your system, other users couldn't be protected against it from that moment, as the information about it wouldn't be sent from your machine.)
  12. Hello agasoft, As we switched to a different GUI backend, everything had to be recreated from scratch. Adding support for screen readers is planned for one of the future versions.
  13. The feature is enabled by default, so that users are protected without having to enable anything manually, as more and more websites use HTTPS connections. However, when you disable it in the settings, the certificates will be removed automatically. Also, you can choose not to import the certificates to browsers in the settings.
  14. The format of the settings was changed between v8 and v9, now we use more flexible format that allows many internal improvements. What setting do you need to find in v9?
  15. Hello, it is not possible to exclude specific folders from being submitted to LiveGrid, you can either enable or disable it. LiveGrid allows us to get the information about new emerging threats as soon as possible and distribute the information to our users. As for the various versions of the file, once its checksum changes, it is considered a different file, so if it was detected, the information would be sent again.
  16. Hello, The certificates are used to enable protecting of the SSL connections as well. If you choose to disable this part of network protection in our product's setup, you can remove the certificates.
  17. According to the domain name seen in the prompt in the screenshot, it is most probably initiated by the Disconnect add-on.
  18. Daffie, the installer wouldn't let you continue if you chose the 32-bit edition on a 64-bit OS or the other way around, so if you completed the installation, you can be sure it was the correct edition.
  19. Hi SweX, we already had a sticky post in the works and released it just now You can see a post by Marcos both in the EAV and ESS forums.
  20. planet: Thanks, I have submitted this issue to our developers. pavilion_alex: Yes, basically it works like that.
  21. By "all" do you mean all clients? What product and version are they on now? Is there any error on the clients themselves, or just in the console?
  22. I am not aware of other notifications than the ones in the webconsole in Admin > Notifications. However, you can also have the server create automated reports and follow them on the Dashboard.
