  1. Hello, the presentation mode pushes back some scheduled tasks and does not notify the user of any issues, so it reduces the protection level to a certain degree. That's why the warning is shown. Also the presentation mode is definitely not meant to be run for longer time periods, so the warning also serves as a reminder for the user to turn it off once done with the presentation.
  2. For anyone experiencing this issue, please see this message by Marcos from last week:
  3. yes, this issue present with any website. thank you. Thanks for the information. I have tested the described situation in my environment, but I was not able to reproduce the issue. I suggest you contact the local customer care as further logs will be needed to investigate. Thank you.
  4. We strongly recommend against installing v7 not just on Windows 10 but on any computer, as newer versions are available. Always install the latest version as it contains the newest features, bugfixes, adds compatibility for OS that was not existing in the time of the older version, etc.
  5. Hello Brown, The GUI of v9 was redesigned to follow the "Modern" principles found for example in Windows 10, and it also accommodates touch screen input. On top of that, the GUI backend is new as well, it is more flexible as it is HTML-based, it allows for right-to-left languages, etc.
  6. Hello, the offers do not have a specified time range set, we will see how many people took advantage of them and will end or prolong them accordingly. As for Stagefright, the exploit is done on the system partition where apps don't have access, so while we can detect whether a device is vulnerable (look up ESET Stagefright Detector on Google Play), security apps can't do anything about it actively. I would say it is beneficial to have a security solution in your device, as it can protect you from malicious applications, fraudulent websites, etc., but on top of that ESET Mobile Security offers other features as well, such as Anti-Theft, SMS&Call Filter, etc. To view a comparison of various security solutions, you can have a look at https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/mobile-devices/ (sneak peek: we scored 100%). Regarding CyanogenMod, the app should work without any issues, but as it allows (and contains) some system modifications not possible on a regular device software, we can't guarantee it 100%. Have a nice day, T.
  7. Hello, does the problem persist, or was it just a one-time issue? If you can't repeatedly access your account, please PM me your email address used when creating the account, so that I can have a look at it.
  8. Does that happen all the time? It looks like a temporary outage, as the website should return an option to open a secured browser, as seen in my screenshot above. Are you able to visit other subsections of the eset.com and eset.eu websites?
  9. Hello, please have a look at our article on the most common issues with VSD updates: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2850/
  10. Hello, I'd suggest contacting the local customer care as further logs will be needed for investigation of this issue.
  11. Hello, for larger files, you can use our email samples@eset.com to send a sample or a link to it.
  12. It is not doubling the work, it actually saves time. You do not need to prepare anything, you just run a task from ERA webconsole and ERA takes care of delivering the task, downloading the correct version, installing it, etc.
  13. That was a clarifying question, to know which direction the discussion should head. In case you are aware of such implementations on ESET's website, please contact me.
  14. Hello, the logging verbosity of the Device Control rule needs to be set in the rule itself - in the "Edit rule" dialog, there is Logging severity, set to "Always" in your screenshot. It is here you need to change it.
  15. As the discussion has gone off the original topic, I am locking this thread now.
  16. Hello, this is the line that carries the actual error: ERROR: (DbUpgrade) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]User, group, or role 'era_user' already exists in the current database.Have you previously used ERA on this server? Are you installing over an already existing installation?
  17. When adding the criteria, you can filter in the top row. Enter 'physical memory' and it will pop out.
  18. The logging verbosity of the Device Control rule needs to be set for the Endpoint client and the policy needs to be applied correctly (you can check in the client's details in ERA, or look at the settings directly on the client).
  19. The tool is also mentioned as a number 4 solution (in the troubleshooting section) in the article TomFace linked.
  20. That would be great if you could post the answer from the support team, so that other people browsing the forum can learn that too. Thanks
  21. Hello, It may happen that fixed-size objects won't fit the screen when changing the scaling in the system. What solution do you suggest?
  22. Hello, Further error details are contained in an installation log, these logs are saved in the 'logs' folder in the location from where you ran the installation (setup.exe).
  23. Hello Handries, you can follow the steps described here: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2788/
  24. Hello, we were discussing the issue with our developers, which takes some additional time. They said this message means the Agent tried to set a policy to the Endpoint product, which failed (probably due to the Endpoint, not the Agent). Thus, the issue needs to be investigated from the Endpoint's side, which also supports your latest post that there are some issues with the Endpoint products. Please contact your local customer case who will further direct you to gather logs from the PCs. Thank you.
