  1. Actually, using the default firmware for any router is a weakened security. Using Kali Linux and the embedded tools you can obtain any wep, wpa, or wpa2 password easy. I can concur the best defense is no remote admin.
  2. If F8 is not working to enter safe mode, open msconfig from run, or cmd, and manually reboot the computer into safe mode, from the boot tab "boot options".
  3. Hello, Of course you didnt create the rule, but if you clicked deny anywhere on the prompts, it might have been created regardless. All routers usually come with a reset button, if you cannot find it, then you need to connect to it through your browser remotey. Remote management is managing a device remotely, wirelessly or wired. FInd the IP of the router by typing "ipconfig" from a command prompt. The gateway will be your router. Type it into a browser, once connected, enter the credentials for your router to login, and inside the interface you will find a reset to defaults option. If you do not know the username and password for your router, you can try the defaults suggested by the manufacturor of the router. "this is where the reset button comes in handy" Good luck and let us know if you require more guidance.
  4. I almost forgot, your new policy will need to have the lic files imported or at least the username and password integrated. Users wishing to change manually will also need to input the company license credentials.
  5. Hello ! In your policy, you probably have your primary server listed as the update server. Create a new policy and have the settings with update server listed as "choose automatically". When the users with laptops, and mobiles try to update outside the organization, they will update from ESET servers instead. Apply this new policy only to the users and machines that are mobile. As a quick workaround or quick solution, if your clients are not password protected, tell your users to go into the advanced settings and manually switch over the update servers to "choose automatically" in the update settings.
  6. I think its posted at the top of every parent section.
  7. It is working now. It was not this morning. 500 internal server error was what i was getting on multiple browsers. Someone must have repaired the link.
  8. To whom it may concern. The Blog link for password assistance is not functional and leads to a 500 internal server error.
  9. [Communicatie geweigerd door regel] You need to go into Advanced and delete this rule. You have inadvertently created a rule, possibly by clicking Deny on one of the requests for communication. If you cannot find it, you will need to follow this KB article explaining the reset process: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN941
  10. Hello, I would follow the directions indicated here: How do I submit a virus, website or potential false positive sample to ESET's lab?Maybe save the email as .msg and then archive it. Specify that it is email spam not caught by filter or similar. However you can always "reclassify selected message as spam" by right clicking the email then choosing ESET.
  11. Hello Geraner, While not an official ESET response, i have speculated on this matter myself and came up with this: Advanced heuristics, while disabled on Real-time , it is still enabled for newly created files and off for execution of files that have already existed or have been scanned already. This is a genius move, similar to how Smart scanning technology works. If it is not an infection, and already exists on your machine, why scan it over and over and over again. So we say, just scan the new stuff, and then if they never change, dont bother scanning again. This reduces system performance.
  12. Because ESET usually builds based on customer feedback and we have stated time and time again, please dont lock down the system. Control . Please dont become ESET 360. Some may get the reference.
  13. I found 1 at your asking rate: Price: US $29.99 Approximately £17.95 hxxp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESET-NOD32-ANTIVIRUS-2014-3-Users-3-PCs-New-in-Retail-Box-/151314355232?pt=US_Antivirus_Security_Software&hash=item233b09d420 Ships from the US i think, but its still the UK Ebay and its £17
  14. I also have to jump in as well, since i sell the product. In the United States ESET has been selling Nod32 for 39.99, and Smart Security for 59.99. These prices have never changed afaik except for reducing as Marcos stated. However the following example applies to anywhere in the world including Europe. If someone buys x1 AV, its 39.99 1yr If someone buys x5 AV, its 99.99 1yr However 39.99 x 5 = 199.95, not 99, so you are getting a deal for buying multiple products. As a partner/reseller/distributor you can purchase in bulk and receive the same special deals the home users get. So if you can imagine, Amazon buys x5000 licenses from ESET 1 year, they can sell them to customers for a lot less. If the following year, Amazon decides to only purchase x1000 licenses from ESET 1year, then they definitely will not be able to sell to customers at the same cost the following year. While ESET has never changed its prices, Amazon, Ebay, Walmart, Bestbuy, Target, and any other online retailers will always be adjusting their prices and giving special bargain deals. Prices will go up and down all the time, however ESET is not to blame of the price fluctuations that distributors are going to have. While you search for another product, i would recommend looking simply for a better deal then Amazon for ESET, or find a distributor that can continue to give you renewal rates, instead of Amazon. Looking for a better product then ESET will surely be hard to find. Thanks for reading.
  15. .. and if you want to change the password for ESET on the device, just open the app, choose settings, and choose the first option, security password.
  16. Aside from reinstalling, it would not be a bad idea, you could find the problem and provide samples to prevent this from ever happening again, if there is a problem.
  17. Hello, It would be easier if you created the Live version which is linux based, rather the windows based one you are attempting to create. There is a link in my signature for the Live version in black text, as well as a User guide on that page for setting up.
  18. Thank you Mike for your continued updates. Will surely like to see how your situation plays out.
  19. Hi again, IT may be ! , try creating a seperate folder called "ESET Spam", and also look in trust center of outlook and make sure you can see the ESET plugin installed. iF there is a way to turn off outlook spam prot or rules, i would do it.
  20. Hello, First off, what email client are you using ? Second, do you have a folder setup that is dedicated for spam, what did you name it ? My last question would have to be more of a statement, if you classify a message as Spam by ESET, and it never catches it on the second time it comes through, something must be setup wrong or the conclusion should be, not that its disappointing, but why isn't it working. It's not working at all. Let's see if we can determine your issue ! Thanks
  21. Hello, You must purchase a license for the number of computers you want protected for multiple. If you insist on placing trials on all the computers, you will need a different email address for each which is essentially a new account. If you are an IT admin for a business, you can contact ESET by phone, and they will provide you with a business trial to suit your needs for multiple endpoints.
  22. Yeah, i just meant sorry that im being argumentative against muncher and gaurd lol.
