I agree, 30-60 days is a bit much. Plus, having to see the big red bar of outdated products for that long drives me crazy. I usually start manually upgrading my endpoints after a few days of seeing that. As you can see, I've already started pushing it out this morning. Kind of defeats the whole "automatic update" feature.

Agreed.  The wait time is a bit too much.

    Hi Marcos,
I understand that this is the first time you are pushing updates this way, however I wanted to ask whether there will be a more official channel where we can track when a new version will be rolled out. Additionally, having the option to change that time frame would be ideal as in my opinion using an outdated version for nearly two months is too much. A month should be more than sufficient for any critical issues to surface.

Most emails that claim to have pictures of you, tend to be false. They use scare tactics to make people think they have compromising stuff, which they don't. In some cases, they will put a password in the email to try and make you think that this is genuine. Sometimes the password is just a guess, but in some cases, they will gain them from published website breaches, to make the email seem genuine

So what are the reasons why you keep using ESET? I guess it's personal experience and not just test results.

On final comment here and I am done with this thread. This issue has been "blown out of proportion." Here's why.
The only thing needed to activate an Eset product is a license key - period. An Eset Home account is only required if you desire to manage your Eset product licenses remotely. The first thing I do when I purchase a new Eset product license from the Eset eStore is permanently delete any Eset Home account that may have been set up. Why? Because there have been past security issues with the Eset Home web site. You can search the forum for postings on that issue.
Since you purchased Internet Security, you must have received an Eset license key for it. That license key can be used to activate Internet Security installations for the number of device seats you purchased.
-EDIT- Since your Reddit posting is quite long, I will post the relevant part:
So I guess this resolves the issue since you do have a paid Eset IS license for 5 devices. As far as Eset Home license statuses go, I have already posted what my opinion of that web site.

I'm wondering if manually doing the "Update installed ESET products" task is any different than the automatic upgrade process? I've been using the manual task for years and was glad for the automatic upgrade, but the waiting...
I understand the need to release slowly in case of issues, but 30 days is a bit too much for us, and our auditors are not happy we're not updating a security software after seeing that huge red bar.

Greater control for admins would be nice.  I agree with the OP, there is no statement anywhere about this delay. I opened up a ticket with support on Friday and got no where fast.  I finally ended up chatting with tech support who told me it would work somewhere between 48-72 hours after release.  Might want to get your support staff on board with the delay of the auto upgrade working.
Again, it would be nice to grant admins the ability to test this out sooner rather than having to wait 30-60 days.  I understand you are looking for stability etc but with this delay, the auto upgrade feature is useless to me as I normally would not wait this long to upgrade my endpoints.

Try uninstalling it in safe mode with the ESET uninstaller. Instructions are here: https://support.eset.com/en/kb2289-uninstall-eset-manually-using-the-eset-uninstaller-tool.

Our position is clearly laid out on the linked page, so with that being said, we'll close this topic before it gets nasty and political.

"What have the citizens of russia done to eset or anyone?"
As for me, I believe, the government is there to do things on behalf of me, and if so, every citizen of every country is responsible, not only their presidents.
I suggest to not continue this thread, it could lead to political debates, and ESET security forum is not the right place for that.

LesRMed gave kudos to itman in Help me get rid of this virus! Please.
It appears you have Dr. Web installed as your AV solution. Note that Dr. Web is a Russian based product and in fact is the only AV approved by the FSB for use in Russia. Read into this what you will. If I was in Ukraine, I certainly would not be using the product given the current situation there.
Unless you have an Eset product installed, this forum can't be of assistance since the moderators here need Eset logs in able to access the current situation on your PC. I advise you seek help in the various malware assistance forums. Below are two links to a few:

I wish you the best over there.

LesRMed gave kudos to Marcos in Does Eset really protect against ransomware?
You'd better ask AV-TEST why they chose not to include ESET in their test given the AV-TEST's statement:
There are many reputable testers, such as Radicati, Forrester, Mitre as well as AV-C (EPR/EDR tests) that show ESET's products performing extremely well.
We recommend that you try various AVs and then choose one that works the best on your system.
Having said that, we'll draw the topic to a close.

Hum ........ I thought by now based on my recent comments, the issue with your problematic drive is not a "bug" in Eset.

I had the problem (i asked the question, and replying it myself becuase it would be helpful at least to one person.) Wait a couple of minutes and refresh the page. It will display Normal, instead of Overused, under usage status, after some time. Just Relax

This is an alembicated answer which , in fact, provide no rationale for such approach. An antivirus license is not like milk, with an expiration date.
But if ESET wants to complicate things, by all means.

It's more better to bring a firewall or Windows Firewall to whitelist to certain IPs or a VPN IP to connect from to eliminate all the attacks, If it's not possible to do so , then using a firewall like pfSense , OPNSENSE , Fortinet , Palo-Alto etc... , can help take off the attacks with their intrusion prevention services that would block the attacks on the firewall level not the server level which is making the CPU run more and also might bring your server down , or with bad luck a breach could happen.

The interesting part of the tracert output is we are both traversing through the same Deutsche Telekom AG server from the U.S..
Given is we are using different ISPs. This leads me to speculate that for those in the U.S. having LiveGrid connectivity issue, the source of the issue lies with their Internet provider or the DNS servers they are using.

I still don't understand why it isn't off by default. It could even be displayed as an option when buying that is unticked by default. It would cause a lot less complaints
