  1. Yes, 7.0.317 has to be downloaded and installed manually. Since it doesn't bring any new features and only fixes less critical issues, we didn't release it as a program component update (PCU) which would require intensive pre-release testing.
  2. Maybe using Apache, IIS or another http server solution instead of the internal simple http server would allow for advanced logging of the information you want.
  3. Could you please pm me the policy that is applied on these clients? If there's a problem with a Device control rule, the error should also be reported whenever the configuration xml is imported manually.
  4. Hello, besides blocking malicious websites, we reserve the right to block websites publishing leaked licenses, ESET cracks, sellers breaching legal terms and rules who jeopardize business of legal sellers, etc. Having said that, we'll draw this topic to a close as the question has been fully answered. regards, Marcos
  5. The block is correct. The website was reported to breach legal terms by a local distributor. Having said that, we'll draw this topic to a close.
  6. Please send the output of running ESET Log Collector as per the instructions here to ESET as per the instructions here to samples[at]eset.com with a link to this topic enclosed.
  7. The latest version 7.0.317 has a slightly different splash screen although I'm not sure if it's really same as it was in v3. As for the lightness, v2 had many limitations while scanning files and didn't take advantage of new techniques needed to protect against the huge volume of malware nowadays. V7 is very light thanks to Smart optimization and LiveGrid. If you're experiencing a performance issue, we'd be happy to assist you with troubleshooting it.
  8. The best would be to contact ESET, LLC to find out why the license doesn't work. You can also pm me your username so that I can check if the license has actually expired.
  9. The quarantine folders are not protected by self-defense so there's no problem deleting the content manually.
  10. Submissions are processed on an individual approach basis; ie. samples that seem to be greyware, adware, PUA, etc. receive much lower priority than actual malware from infected computers. There's no need to make a post here whenever you don't receive a response in a timely manner. Even when submitting files via the internal form, the user is informed that no response may be provided unless more information is required for analysis.
  11. HIPS module will update to 1133 soon when this version becomes available permanently for all users.
  12. ESET Mail Security provides real-time time protection of server as well. It's basically ESET File Security coupled with an Exchange scanner.
  13. I'd suggest contacting Customer care as further logs will be needed to troubleshoot the issue.
  14. Oh now that's a huge question mark right there. As usual I think you know something that we don't, well it would be weird if you didn't of course I was theoretically thinking about version XX that will be released one day in a couple of years that might require a functionality not supported in Windows XP. In such case, one will still be able to use an older version of the product that fully supports it. On the other hand, ESET now supports even archaic systems starting with Windows NT and Windows 2000, although with limited functionalities and also all product versions, starting with v3 even if v7 is available now.
  15. If you go to the Home screen, you'll probably see the message that your operating system is not up to date which is what usually causes the icon to change to "i".
  16. Even if newer versions didn't support Windows XP, you could stick with v7 or whatever that supports it. Even the old v3 is still supported in terms of updates.
  17. The way program component updates (PCUs) are performed can be set in the advanced update setup. However, we rarely release a new PCU and usually the user has to check for a newer version by clicking the appropriate link in gui.
  18. The file has been analysed and turned out to be corrupted and non-functional. It has a bad EP, no imports, etc. What makes you think that the computers are infected? This file (dcim.exe) shouldn't be running at all. If you think that the computers are infected, please submit the output of running ESET Log Collector to samples[at]eset.com along with a description of the issue as well as reasons that make you believe the computer is infected.
  19. The Training section is available only for US-based users as the training is handled by ESET, LLC.
  20. Moving the topic to the General forum as this product has nothing to do with ESET NOD32 Antivirus and is being developed by ClevX and ESET works just as a sort of an add-on.
  21. No program component update has been released for a long time. Probably only one of the modules was updated.
  22. I'd suggest to continue as follows: - uninstall EAV in safe mode as per the instructions at hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289 - download and install the latest version 7.0.317 available on ESET's website Let us know if it solves the problem.
  23. It's possible to exclude particular urls under Web protection -> URL address management.
  24. We've found out that there was a large Translation module update released earlier today. Will take measures to keep it as small as possible to prevent this from happening again. You can either try updating manually several times or simply wait a bit until the program updates automatically.
  25. Do you update from standard update servers or from pre-release servers? Do you have ESET Smart Security v7 installed?
