  1. yes. Click the Start button . In the Search box, type command prompt. In the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. this is an elevated command prompt.
  2. uninstall it first so the settings will be removed, and then install it again. that way you will start with fresh settings and possibly eliminate the problem you have.
  3. i'd suggest to uninstall it from the control panel and install it again.
  4. the windows 10 november update is not on public release yet. i suppose you are an insider?
  5. and most of your suggestions are not technically feasible to be implemented
  6. i am too unable to reproduce it on windows 10. all letters are as normal as they would be with corect capitalization.
  7. i checked my event viewer logs and i found similar entries when i had v8 installed. they are all dated at 13/10. the following day that i installed v9 i didn't find anything related. could it be something specific to v8?
  8. you never know if the redirect is a well disguised scam page or not. so be very careful.
  9. as the title says, i would like to know if the images and logos of eset (eg. the android) are copyrighted. if they are, how can i report the illegal reuse of that stuff?
  10. unless you joke about it. congratulations! you just infected your computer with whatever was in that program. NEVER download anything from non official sites. www.eset.com always from the officials.
  11. the settings xml file from v8 is incomaptible when imported to v9 and a error information window will appear if you import settings from v8 to v9. maybe that was the cause of the problem.
  12. you should be able to install it but it's not compatible with windows 10 and you might face enough problems. i suggest to download v9 and install it https://www.eset.com/int/download//home/detail/family/2?installer=offline
  13. marcos says to press the edit at the right and post an image of the window that will open. for example look mine. and then post an image the next time you see the warning when the scan completes. search the start menu for the snipping tool, it's easier to make screenshots of a specified area.
  14. i just tested the eicar file in a folder in my desktop, and it wasn't even in the log. SS completely ignored it. plus i have the winzip msi file in the exclusion list because it's detected and i never saw any warning in the logs. maybe you didn't setup the exclusions correctly.
  15. that extra minor number at the end might be for versions specific to some regions. for example: a minor change in the EULA for some regions. so don't worry, you have the latest version which is 9.0.318.
  16. this isn't a reason to change your security program. even if you get another program you might face the same issue. after all since it's an addon file, you can right-click on the download button and select "save link/ as", save it to your desktop and then go to the addons settings and select to install addons from file. it will install fine.
  17. i also tried to download the app from the website shown in the pic, but it failed. i stopped all the shields and it still couldn't download because of a connection issue. after disabling ssl scanning it installed successfully. perhaps the connection isn't secure enough or something else is going on and it fails when all modules are active on ESET.
  18. i just found the same error on event viewer, however the articles dont really help as we are using windows 10 and most options are not the same.
  19. having an entire OS on cloud automatically means to have a perfect internet connection. in greece vdsl (30 or 50 mbps) is not even on the 5% of the country's homes. we barely have 14mpbs on some areas. i prefer having my OS and programs offline and local on my hard disk.
  20. in case a user has 32bit OS, there is a limit to how much ram can be installed. anyway eset has always tried to keep the resources at a minimum level so the products can be as light as possible. also each year that the technology behind it's products is evolving there will be an slight increase to the required and in-use resources on the pc.
  21. i tried to print a site to pdf from Edge and it automatically saved it to my documents folder. go to the classic control panel > uninstall a program > find the eset entry, and double click it. then select to repair the installation in case something wasn't configured correctly. after it finishes reboot and try again.
  22. this must not be the original eset website. i visited the Portuguese site via eset.com and then i selected the country, Portugal. it lead me to this https://loja.eset.pt/
  23. check my thread here https://forum.eset.com/topic/6264-remove-v9-using-the-eset-uninstaller-in-safe-mode/ you can use the removal tool even if it's not updated lately. i tried my self.
