  1. when i use the ELC and select all the artifacts, it never completes, even after several hours. i discovered that when the ESET SysInspector Log entry in the ELC is selected it stalls the whole progress. i don't know if these might help. 2. when i had to collect logs to send to support the log collector took more than two hours and it never completed. i guess it was the maximum verbosity i had set. so maybe SImbadda has set the verbosity to Diagnostic, and that makes the ELC to take a very long time to complete? go to advanced setup > tools > log files, and tell us what is the current setting on the minimum logging verbosity
  3. after all, in windows 10 all updates are installed automatically, so this option is not so important to be enabled.
  4. the lines in blue color (error opening) mean that those locations/files are currently locked or open by other running processes/programs, and thus can' be scanned. but rest assured that critical files are always scanned upon booting up the pc. for example the file at the end C:\pagefile.sys is the file that windows use a temporary ram (random access memory), and that file is always in use by windows and it's normal for the Av to not be able to open it.
  5. memory leak is the condition when a program, let's say it's designed to consume about 300MB of RAM, it starts consuming hundreds and hundreds of MB or tens of GB (depending of the available RAM memory the system has). so those numbers might actually be normal.
  6. do you get any error message when the screensaver starts? if you locate the screensaver SWF file and double click it, does it start? they are usually located here C:\Windows or C:\Windows\system32 or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (for 64bit windows editions) could you uninstall and reinstall the screensavers in case they got corrupted?
  7. in my case the info on the program updated within minutes of payment/renewal. i guess it has got to do with server load or how fast your payment was processed in the website in order to send the OK.
  8. why would you want to delete it? the files in that location are just log entries that appear when you open the Log section on nod32
  9. i checked the link of the OP, the entire website is blocked only when using IE, on other browsers it's not blocked by eset.
  10. when posting to the forum, once i press "post" the 3 dots will be visible for several seconds before the page refreshes and my post appears in it's place. i remember a few weeks before it used to be instantaneous. and some times the dots stay there and i had to manually refresh the page to check if my post was saved. plus when i create new threads, like this here, or report posts i get this error message. Service UnavailableThe service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.
  11. because as i recall marcos said, an in-product update hasn't been released yet. only full installers.
  12. you can set SS not to notify you for windows 10 updates since all of them are automatically downloaded and installed. i suppose this must be some an incompatibility of some sort on eset. i had a printer driver not visible on windows update but i hid it with the tool MS provides. this tool will help you hide updates hxxp://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab
  13. i have excluded a serial generator on my external hdd and it doesn't detect or remove it.
  14. well there is plenty of disk space beside the disk space and the large logs, being almost all day in front of the pc, i only see notifications about the virus signature update. after v9 i've never seen a notification about the update of the other modules. on v8 i clearly remember seeing every once in a while a notification reporting "the modules have been updated", i've never seen one with v9. what could it be wrong? before i install it i used the removal tool in safe mode and i started from scratch with all settings.
  15. this is what i have set to the settings. if i'm not mistaken i had the same setting in v8 and when modules were updated, the notification would pop up. is the setting OK for the notifications to display the maximum info possible?
  16. on v8 the notifications in the down right corner would notify me when the modules were updated. now on v9 i don't see when modules are updated. how to set the program to notify me of such things?
  17. download the mcafee removal tool and save it to your pc hxxp://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp run it and follow the instructions. after that install the eset program that you will receive. never install more than one AV products on the same pc. all versions of home products of eset are the same. trial and full version are just differentiated by the product key used. when you request a trial version a special key will be used that is valid for 30 days. after you get your package and open it, you will just replace the old key with the new one and all will be just fine
  18. i would like an msi installer like v8 had. are they deprecated, because i only see exe installers.
  19. start a new thread and explain the problem you have so we can help you
