  1. after visiting the page to recover my EIS serial number, i received two emails. one had the key of EIS with ID 3AJ-M7C-DA8. the other mail had a license key for Eset Smart Security Premium (key available upon request), with an expiration date of 31-10-2021. since i only bought EIS recently, i talked with Eset Greece and they told me the other key was registered on 2016 in Slovakia, and that's all the info they could provide to me cause they don't have access to Slovakian data. i don't remember buying that product in 2016. and if i bought it i would have used it. any help?
  2. the code will arrive on your email in the form of 1ABC-2ABC-3ABC-4ABC-5ABC did you check the spam folder as well? sometimes messages can mistakenly end up there. mine arrived almost instantly.
  3. you can create another email and use that for the activation process, if the boxed version requires it.
  4. as pointed out by itman, paid support is for 3rd party AV customers, so i find it reasonable for the eset removal tool not to work. i've never had any problem removing the eset products in safe mode with this tool. it was able to remove the entire program or if i used the control panel in normal windows mode, it could remove leftover files from the normal uninstallation. the cmd tool works as expected. as for the system restore, a few weeks back i started SR and upon completion it reported that it failed to restore a file. upon further inspection, that file was one of the files that EIS downloads to update the virus signature database. despite that error message the system restore was indeed completed successfully and the AV was working fine. (btw i lost the picture i kept with that error message and i didn't report it.)
  5. yes, i tried renaming the entire eset subkey and it was denied.
  6. the dark theme is nice. however i'd like another option of a light grey colour. currently it's way too dark for my liking. perhaps something like the color of this image.
  7. at the very least you can purchase a windows 8.1 key from a reliable vendor in your country, assuming they still have some spare copies or you can try to format your pc and reinstall win 7 if you have original disc. with this link you can download the original windows iso if you have a key bought directly from microsoft. otherwise you can contact your pc manufacturer and kindly ask for a recovery disc and if they're willing to provide one, you can reinstall the OS. there are many tools to help you locate your serial key if you misplaced it.
  8. and it did a really good job, judging by the image they were viruses, https://www.virusradar.com/en/Win32_Sality.NBA/description anyway, did those files exist in a removable drive?
  9. check this video, that should happen after entering the command in the cmd as admin. under normal circumstances you should be able to see the file in the C drive. https://youtu.be/ncIv4HWXCzk
  10. the above command will create and save a file on the C drive with the name "updates.txt", open that text file and you'll be able to see what updates are installed.
  11. 15 hours for a scan?! that's unbelievable. i always select a full in-depth scan and it takes about 2 hours, no more than that. even on my old pc with a 600gb hdd full of files it took about 2-3 hours, never more than that and especially never 15! have you accidentally changed any setting in the program? after trying the above solutions, can you try to uninstall the program via safe mode and then install it again without changing any settings to see if the program settings were responsible? https://support.eset.com/en/kb2289-uninstall-eset-manually-using-the-eset-uninstaller-tool while in safe mode, run the tool a couple times until it shows ''no supported/products found''
  12. you can use this link to purchase your desired version, https://www.eset.com/it/privati/per-windows/ i live in greece and it also gives me the 404 error, perhaps the link isn't correct.
  13. actually this is a really good idea. if it's possible, i'd love to see it implemented in the future.
  14. i agree with Marcos, the UI is almost the same since 2007 if im not mistaken. although it might be considered old and outdated, it very very functional and organized. because of that i was able to navigate myself around its options easily even though i hadn't used it for many years.
  15. in my case it does exist and these are its contents. pref("security.enterprise_roots.enabled", true, locked); this means that FF will read and use the certificates of the windows cert store (and perhaps its own from Mozilla as well)? so that's why i cant find the eset cert in the FF certificate store settings panel? eset no longer imports it there but FF will still use it as necessary by "seeing" the windows cert store. @Marcos am i understanding all these right?
  16. i've used the Eset products since i got my first pc back in 2007. after a 4.5 year gap from 2016 and a few years later that my pc died, i just returned to the product i trust and adore. easy and minimal interface yet powerful and full of options to suit every need. i highly recommend it! you wont be disappointed🤗
  17. yes of course you can disable it, there won't be any issues after. follow the instructions in this page. (there is no need to disable the service, once you deselect "use this program" and you are notified that it's off, it will remain off)
  18. have you tried to export the settings of the application and then use the eset removal tool, to completely remove ESS and reinstall it again, and after that import the settings?
  19. what do you mean that it won't accept the State? do you select it and then it gets deselected?
  20. hello, and welcome to the forum. unfortunately, there isn't a way to directly/permanently put a new topic to the top of the list so everyone can see it. however, when a topic gets a new answer, it goes directly to the top of the list, and it's visible by everyone. if you want to provide feedback for the development team, use this link. click> Home User & Small Office Support and then click> Other question or feedback (none of the above), and then fill in the fields and provide the feedback.
  21. it seems that Marcos made a mistake on the link. the correct one is this. hxxp://support.eset.com/kb141/
  22. it might be 1 month, 2 months or more. the program must undergo extensive internal testing to ensure that it meets all the specifications for a public release. just wait and check the forum for future announcements.
