  1. Hi @slarkins I was previously running both Era 4 and 5,and are now on v6. Version 5 was a much more simple product, and at first sight v6 will seem a bit complex. Once you have spent some time with it, you will learn of how works, and you will appreciate all the extra features and possibilities of era 6. For small business, the main reason for upgrading is the new endpoint and file security products, as these are much better than the old (and provide much better security) . For larger companies the new manager gives you way more possibilities than the old, and is worth the upgrade on its own.
  2. Hi you Can use this to deploy the agent https://support.eset.com/kb3677/?locale=en_EN once the agent has been deployed you can use a software install task to install Endpoint antivirus or security to unprotected computers
  3. I guess it does not really matter. You have already spent more time researching how to it, than just really doing it. Just jump in to it, you can't really go wrong either way
  4. @MichalJ That sounds really interesting. Do you have any early access program for that?
  5. I recommend to change the agent policy to connect to a dns name instead of an ip. this way you can easily change the dns record without any issues on the clients.
  6. No, Eset won't make any issues with the update. You don't have to do anything.
  7. I totally agree with tmuster2k I have never used the migration tool
  8. Hi This is not available currently, but it should be part of both Era version 7 and Eset Cloud Administrator. Maybe someone from Eset can give some updated ETA for both, as I think they have slipped a bit?
  9. I think they are released as needed, and not at any specific schedule
  10. Yes, I think they target 2 releases each year, one at summer, and one at winter. Version 7 should be targeted for release at Q1
  11. Hi Are there any other new features you can disclose? Are there any new "Next Generation" features? (from what I understand anti-ransomeware should be part of v7?)
  12. It will most likely auto upgrade, but it usually takes some months before they start the auto upgrade. I think they want to be extremely sure it is bug free before auto upgrading.
  13. As suggested above, you should reconsider allowing port 2222 between the two subnets, and then stick with one era server
  14. Sorry, I did not see that you were talking about the Linux edition.
  15. Hi Version 4 is so old that it is in no way capable of protecting against today's threats. Have you tried to upgrade to a more recent version? It might also solve the issue you are having.
  16. Hi @MichalJ Thanks, great to hear. It will make me reconsider EES
  17. Nope, you have to select the groups you want to upgrade. I have created a dynamic group that checks is the clients version is not equal to the newest one, and then apply the task to that group
  18. If I recall correctly Windows Hello is blocked by default in domain networks, and has to be allowed by a GPO. Could this be the issue you a dealing with?
  19. One of those irritating things about Endpoint Security is that it will disconnect your network for a few seconds when installing and upgrading to newer versions. This has caused us to stick with Endpoint Antivirus as we can't automatically deploy this to the users without breaking the stuff the user has running. once it is installed it is running without issues. Also the firewall part were protecting from e.g. WannaCry and NotPatya, before they were even released, so it sure is improving security. I think I read somewhere that from version 7 it should not disconnect the network anymore duo to a new way of handling the firewall part, maybe someone can confirm that?

    Eset v7

Hi Version 7 is not "just around the corner" but should come late this year. Endpoint version 6.6 should be released this summer. God ahead and upgrade them right away as the protection is much better than version 5. Era 6 is a bit of a steep learning curve, but much more scaleable flexible than version 5.
  21. Hi Just create 2 different GPOs, one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit. Then apply wmi filtering to make sure the GPO only targets the correct computers https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/1432-using-wmi-filters-to-apply-group-policy-to-a-target-operating-system
