Upgrade File Server Security on 2016 Terminal Server
rekun replied to slarkins's topic in ESET Products for Windows Servers
You dont have to put it in install mode. When upgrading there are basically 2 ways, simply use the official installers downloaded from Eset.com and they will retain their existing settings and connection to the protect manager. Or simply use the manager https://support.eset.com/en/kb7708-upgrade-eset-endpoint-products-from-the-dashboard-using-one-click-action-in-eset-protect -
I guess it is not considered an antivirus solutions job to change the behavior of the OS, especially when it’s not security related like in this case. When using the new auto update feature, it does not matter that a true reboot might take several weeks to happen, as it is fully protected in the mean time

Since Windows 8 a shutdown and startup is not the same as a reboot, but kind of a light hibernation. if you do a reboot from the start menu it will work as well. As karlisi mentioned, disabling fast boot will revert to the old behavior. Theres not much else to do about it as it is behavior by design from Microsoft

Sync conflicts with Outlook and Endpoint Security 9.0
rekun replied to HolmPC's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Could it be that the mailbox is shared with other users, or setup on multiple computers , some of which is still running an old version? that is the only way it makes sense. -
ESET Server Security - Web Control - Terminal Server

I would also like to vote for this. Really leaves a big gab open when users can just use Citrix og RDS to skip the filtering -
Possible to block OneDrive in ESET Endpoint Security?
rekun replied to vs2018sv's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
I guess you can either create a hips rule blocking execution of the OneDrive application. otherwise you can create a dynamic group of computers with OneDrive installed, and simply send them an uninstall job a group join. This way OneDrive would be uninstalled automatically if someone reinstalled it. A third option would be to block network traffic to the domains/ips hosting the OneDrive services, however that may also block access to to other o365 services, so I would go with option one or two. the better option would to create a gpo to block the usage of OneDrive, however that requires a domain/Intune or other management system -
If i remember correctly you have to do a regular scan to scan file system, and not mailbox database scan

We do not use slack but are heavy users of teams, and automatic mode has always worked for us. Are you sure you do not have a conflicting policy?

ESET Server Security & RDP File Copying

That has always been unstable to me, with or without Eset installed. -
Install Protect_installer_x64_us.exe with cmd
rekun replied to baran's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Hi Protect_installer_x64_us.exe --silent --accepteula should do the trick, but why would you install a AIO installer on a device that already has the agent installed? Have you tried to just use an install task instead? -
Windows updates available
rekun replied to PatrickHE's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
I see this from time to time when installing a new server. It seems like the policy to not show the error first applies at next reboot? Have you tried to reboot it? -

Eset Secure Authentication push messages down?
rekun replied to rekun's topic in ESET Products for Windows Servers
Great thanks! It is quite a big issue for us, as the client used is radius, so it is only configured to allow Push messages, so no one can connect right now,
