  1. Hi When you look here:https://www.eset.com/int/business/server-antivirus/shared-local-cache/#download (under "How ESET Shared Local Cache works" "As communication happens over the same physical hardware, there is practically no delay in scanning, resulting in considerable resource savings" However this can only be true, when the VMs and the shared cache are stored on the same server. So should it be used for all clients in the LAN or only for VMs on that specific host?
  2. Hi I am thinking about deploying an Eset Shared Local Cache appliance in out VMware enviroment, however i am a bit confused about what the scope of the deployment would be. In the manual you start explaining that virtual machines often shared a high amount of duplicate files (true), and that because of the traffic not leaving the host, the lookups would have a very low latency. Does this mean i should have a local cache appliance for each VMware host, or can i just deploy one for each cluster? Later on you go on explaining how to configure this on Windows Endpoints (I know theese can be virtual), and Mac computer (which are most likely not virtual), so does this mean that i should use the shared cache for all computers at the same LAN? Do anyone have any experience with this? Are the performance improvements even noticeable? Thanks in advance
  3. I did not stop any services, but one of my upgrades took more than an hour, with the Sql service using a slot of disk io. So just give it some time, it will finish eventually. There is properly some big database design changes in 6.5 so the old data needs to be converted.
  4. Hi It is quite simple, you just need to send a "Remote Administrator Component Upgrade". For more info, please look under:Perform a Component Upgrade task from the ERA Web Console here: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3668/?locale=en_US
  5. Hi No, but there is a slight delay before the repositories are updated with new versions. ERA 6.5 should be released later today, and i would guess that includes the updated repository.
  6. Hi I would like that feature too, however it has been stated that Eset is currently working on a feature which will bundle tasks. This way we can just bundle an available remover task together with an install task. I know this will make an remover run, even if it is not needed, but it would work
  7. Hi Yes, according to the Danish license rules, you can install and activate the software on your Mac. I don't know if the rules are the same in other countries. You would have to disable the license of the old computer in Eset License Administrator though
  8. I have had this problem once, when updating with new service packs for the exchange server. You should really reconsider upgrading to a new version, at least upgrade to version 4.5 that looks and works just like the one you have now
  9. Hi I have previously got confirmed that they have changed to a new network filtering method that does not require the driver. I don't know what they do instead, but it should reduce the number of errors as those drivers can be quite buggy (not speaking specifically of Eset, but just in general)
  10. Hi Zardoc I think this is most likely caused by some third party startup manager. Do you have any kind of programs installed to with slow boot?
  11. You are very welcome. Just remember to set it back ☺️
  12. Have you tried to set the firewall in learning mode, and then try to connect?
  13. Great news! I am very interested in this, so is there any way to be part of the beta once it arrives? Maybe by using the insider program?
  14. It seems that the computer is not able to resolve the name SRV-AV name. When creating the agent deployment package, you can either specify the IP instead of the hostname, or as i use to do create a DNS record for something like eset.domain.com and make sure that is resolveable both internally and externally
  15. Hi Can anyone confirm if ERA 6.5 will be available as a cloud service? It seems like some of the new feaures would be a perfect match such as full tennant support and a deployment tool seperated from ERA
  16. Hi again Nothing has changed from the last thread. No software firewall will ever be able to protect you from a ddos. We have tried to explain this to you before, but failed. You clearly have no idea how this works. The traffic never reaches your computer, so Eset can't do anything about it.
  17. You would have to uninstall it, as mail security includes standard nod32 + mail security features
  18. I guuess the All in One installer is supposed to be for installation from a USB drive or network share (this can be done by loginscripts or some deployments tools). You can run it with some parameters to make it silint (search this forum tfor the exact parameters). If you will deploy directly from ERA, I would create a Dynamic Group with all computers not contraining an application called Eset Endpoint Antivirus or Eset File security. To this group you would create an install task (remember to set the expiry date to something like far away, like 1. jan 2099). to install Eset Endpoint Antivirus This way, when you deploy the agent, it would automatically be added to the new Dynamic Group, which would force the install task to install Eset Endpoint Antivirus, and then it would automatically be removed from the Dynamic Group again. It is not as straight forward as in v5, but it will get the job done. The new Endpoint client is way better than the old, so i think it is worth the upgrade, even if something is a bit different
  19. Hi Marcos Any updates on this? It has been a while already
  20. How about the anti ransomwere nodule in the hips, is that coming to Endpoint 6.5? Earlier this year there were talks about moving the network protection feature from the firewall to the web protection module, so it could be used by EEA users. Is that coming along?
  21. Hi Are there any information about when Windows Server 2016 is going to be supported?
  22. Then try this https://download.eset.com/com/eset/apps/home/eis/windows/latest/eis_nt64_enu.exe
  23. Hi Mantra Protection is not something you see, it is something you have. Version 5 is very old, and there have been a lot of improvement all about the product. What is keeping you from upgrading? I can only speak for myself, but I would hate being infected, and knowing it could have been prevented if I had upgraded my av
  24. Hi As stated by the first poster, this issue is not related to Eset, and happens both with or without Eset installed.
