Dynamic group for Eset EndPoint outdated products

Hi all,

I've just managed to upgrade ERA Server and agent on linux server to the latest 6.x version by a client task (Debian server has got his agent, so i could update all via web console), but i'm not able to manage lan clients outdated products.

I'd like to create a dynamic group like that one from the dashboard (Eset applications - Outdated products) and attach it a trigger (something link "when you get computer with product outdated install new version of eset agent and eset enpoint antivirus), but if i check for dynamic groups I can only create a trigger looking for a specific version: this mean that every time Eset release a new version of endpoint products I'd have to manually change version if statment.

Any suggestion or proposal for ERA dynamic group to behave link dashboard outdated products report?? (go and check online for the latest available version, if greater that one installed, do updates)

Attached to this:

dashboard screenshot showing outdated products

dynamic groups screenshot, not showing outdated products in "problematic computers"

So no answer?!?

Ok, i've manually done it (take a look to the images - computers and dynamic groups template), but it'd be useful to get software version not equal to "latest" than changing it for every new ESET new version release.

With Era Web Console you've already got this info (look at the dashboard for eset products), so it should be simple to implement.

Don't you agree??  :)

That should work. It's also possible to create nested subgroups for a dynamic group but what you suggested is a more convenient solution.

Ok, that one is the "on the fly" solution, but don't you think it'd be nice to have a Dynamic group auto checking for latest products from eset servers?? - it's a proposal for future era releases :)

Marcos: Any update on whether or not this is going to be an integrated feature?

@Marcos @MartinK @MichalJ

I'm refreshing this topic as it is especially helpful on the new ERA 6.5.

is there a proper and better approach to make a dynamic group that can tell me which agents\EAV\EES isn't updated to the latest (this is counted as alerts under the installed applications) would appreciate filtering the ones I haven't done in the mass upgrade staging.

Currently the best spproach would be to use the predefined dashboard "eset applications" (4th tab on dasboard), which shows you the status of network (chart) and table next to it.

You can easily filter the outdated products by type, drill downt to "show all in computers pane" and initiate software install task from there on mass-selection.

We are planning further changes to this process in ERA V7.

Excellent,

Thanks for the quick answer Michal,
i have put that tab into action as well as add dynamic group under All with the relevant entries to filter Computers with older agents.

Thanks for that.
