I noticed under scheduler there is a First-scan with no check mark in it. Should there be a check mark? Here is a screen shot of it.

The "First scan" scheduled task option does not exist on my update ver. 17.1.11 ESSP installation.

I am assuming it only appears on a new install of ver. 17.1.11 and possibly, thereafter. Once the automatic first scan completes, the First scan option is auto disabled by Eset.

The first time scan task is not new, it's been there for years. However, it should be hidden to my best knowledge. Not sure what you did that it's visible. Could you uninstall v17.1.11 and install it from scratch with default settings, ie. without importing previous configuration?

I'm also seeing the First Scan option in a similar way to the OP.  I won't be uninstalling/reinstalling as it simply isn't an issue for me.

Did you import a configuration xml recently or in the past?

No.  I put this computer (Intel NUC 11 Enthusiast) together late in 2023 and setup ESET from scratch and on this machine have never had cause to import a configuration file.

I have this there too. It appeared there after updating from 17.0.16.0 to 17.1.9.0. In addition, in the scheduler, this item is displayed only in ESET x64 in the x64 Windows system, in the x32 version of ESET under the x32 Windows system, the mentioned item is not there.

I'd recommend raising a support ticket if somebody is able to reproduce the issue with a clean install of v17.1.11 or can tell step-by-step instructions to reproduce it. The thing is the task has not been used since 2015.

For me, this item appeared there (first scan) after these steps:

1. I uninstalled the old version 16 using ESET Uninstaller
2. I installed the new version 17.0.16.0 (the current build at the time).
3. I set the program manually, not by importing settings.
4. After updating to 17.1.9.0 and rebooting, the first check appeared in the scheduler.

So hopefully you will be able to find out.
