  1. Hello In last few Weeks I came a long a strange problem: New and fresh installed Windows 10 Clients, with the last March 2018 Windows updates, deactivated Firewall, all working shares, FQDN and so on, the ERA fails to push the agent. ERA is version 6.5.417.0, ESXi VM. The error in the logfiles says: + mount -t cifs -o domain=*replaced*,username=Admin '//*replaced*/ADMIN$' /tmp/era_remote_deploy_wn_y6OOsPH64GoN6CJP/cifs mount error(112): Host is down Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) * [Exit code = 32] + LANG= I noticed that the Windows 10 client with this problem has somehow removed the support for SMB 1.0/CIFS Datashare under the windows features, maybe via Windows update. After I enable it again and reboot the windows 10 System , the agent push works again: My question is: is there a way to fix this problem from ESET ERA side? maybe by changing the hightest protocol or something ? I found this older Post from Dimitris Bastas: " I am running the latest version of ERA (version 6.5.31.0) Following MartinK suggestions I changed a line in the file /var/opt/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Server/Scripts/UnixWindowsNetworkRemoteInstall.sh Specifically the line LANG= mount -t cifs -o "${mount_domain_option}username=$ERA_RD_WN_USERNAME" "$remote_cifs_share" "$local_cifs_mount" becomes LANG= mount -t cifs -o "${mount_domain_option}username=$ERA_RD_WN_USERNAME,vers=2.0" "$remote_cifs_share" "$local_cifs_mount" After that i run the command /sbin/restorecon -F -R -v /var/opt/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Server and I tried to deploy the agent to one of the Windows 7 machines. This workaround worked for me and I wish that a change will be made to the ERA webconsole interface, so that a user can tell that a windows computer has SMB version 2, before the agent can be installed remotely. Thank you very much for the help. " I edited this UnixWindowsNetworkRemoteInstall.sh file, and it also working for me, but this is not the fine English art to fix this Problem. for exampl,e what happes with this manual edit after an ERA update?
  2. Trying to activate ESET Endpoint Security from ERA 6 but always fail, I think that is because my firewall/proxy blocks tcp 80/443 to ESET License Administrator. How I can fix that?
  3. Hi all, I've just managed to upgrade ERA Server and agent on linux server to the latest 6.x version by a client task (Debian server has got his agent, so i could update all via web console), but i'm not able to manage lan clients outdated products. I'd like to create a dynamic group like that one from the dashboard (Eset applications - Outdated products) and attach it a trigger (something link "when you get computer with product outdated install new version of eset agent and eset enpoint antivirus), but if i check for dynamic groups I can only create a trigger looking for a specific version: this mean that every time Eset release a new version of endpoint products I'd have to manually change version if statment. Any suggestion or proposal for ERA dynamic group to behave link dashboard outdated products report?? (go and check online for the latest available version, if greater that one installed, do updates) Attached to this: dashboard screenshot showing outdated products dynamic groups screenshot, not showing outdated products in "problematic computers" BR Mirko
  4. Where i can find file era_http_server.xml in windows 2007 server. I have problem with start service ESET REMOTE ADMINISTRATOR SERVER and i need this to edit config file. I don't have file here "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET\ESET Remote Administrator\Server\Configuration\era_http_server.xml"
  5. Hello, I just installed our ERA Server on a cloud server (public ip) with port 2225 since our port 2222 is in use for other application. I build a Live Agent Installer and succesfully installed on a remote computer Windows 10, I change the hosts files so the domain name points to the ERA public ip. On the ERA server firewall I opened the port 2225. But is not connecting, the logs from the agent shows: Connection refuse by the server. How can I connect the agents to the server, since all the computers will be remote. thanks in advance.
  6. Hello I have the following question I installed eset antivirus in virtual machines in citrix but when they reinciaron desues to quiet the solution Previous commenced reporting the pop3 protocol and nonfunctional http and anti-virus and non-functional antispyware because this error occurs And that solution can be given, already has been tested reinstalling but the error continues leaving after restarting the machines
  7. Dear all! Back story of my question: I created an uninstall task (to uninstall agent) from erac console. It's working, cleans the agent, the task comes back with "task failed" messeage, wich is normal, we discussed that before i accepted period. I do unintall task by mass, meaning I target 50+ computers, as i see, the uninstalling is go one bye one, which is unconvenient because if i remember correctly, to reach task failed status is something like 20 minutes. I am using: ESET Remote Administrator (Server), Version 6.4.295.0 Questions: 1. Can i do something to speed up this process? 2. What will happen if a computer offline at the unstall momment, will it try to run the uninstall task when it turned on? Sorry for misspelling.
  8. Hello everyone, I've replaced old Antivirus server ESET 5 to ESET 6 after using a long time. I'm having a trouble when I trying to create a mirror update server on ESET 6 Remote Administrator. Even though I had tried to find the way to create a mirror like the old one, ESET 5. Could you guys give me some idea about my issue ?
  9. I'm in the process of migrating from ERA5 to 6, along with all client PCs. I made a new server for v6 and imported the database from the v5 server and have pushed out the agent to all client PCs which are Win7/10, all PCs are running v5.0.2665. Some installations work, but when I push out an installation to upgrade the client from 5 to 6 about 90% of them fail with : 'SoftwareInstallation:Installation failed with: (0x643), Fatal error during installation (0x643), The older version of ESET Endpoint Antivirus cannot be removed' Which leaves the PC without any AV protection as the installation failed, and neither v5 or v6 works, it can only be resolved by booting to safe mode and running the remover tool. I have a network of 300 PCs to manage and Eset are telling me that I'll need to manually upgrade each PC which is not feasible. I can't believe there is no way of completing a successful remote install from v5 to v6 Any ideas please?
  10. Hello Team I have some clients installed with eea 6.4 and era 6.4 manage so i see some lock it say read only but i have some clients who dosent have any read only lock so how to remove this read only lock i attach image of lock symbol. Regards Vimarsh P.
  11. Dear all! I am testing my new agent uninstall task. No matter how i try i alwas get task failed messeage. But, the agent completly removed from the target machine, event log said: Windows Application log: Product: ESET Remote Administrator Agent -- Removal completed successfully. Sooo why is the error at the console?? Test environment: win7 x64 enterprise Tried with multiple computers, agent and client both installed with push install from erac, and works fine. I am using ESET Remote Administrator (Web Console), Version 6.4.266.0 I checked google, and this forum not found similar problem, if so please show me the right topic. Thank you.
  12. i use All-in-one installer (agent + ees) and GPO with run-once startup script who run "ERA_Installer_x86_en_US.exe --silent" to manage eset on domain. ERA_Installer_x86_en_US.exe on workstation successful install agent, but not ees. To install application (ees) on these failed clients I create Software install task (ESET Endpoint Security 6; version 6.4.2014.0 for windows (Microsoft Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP), language en_US). Who failed with: "Task failed, try to install software manually." I added software-install.log as attachment, but I think interesting part is: "Product: ESET Endpoint Security -- Error 1921. Service 'ESET Service' (ekrn) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services." Also failed when i try install on local workstation with admin permissions: ees_nt32_enu.msi /qn /log c:\temp\install.log I added install.log as attachment too. On workstation services 'ESET Remoter Administrator Agent' and 'ESET Service' log on as Local System account. What I do incorrect ? What additional information to You may help? software-install.log install.log
  13. From a recent ESET webinar I attended, I discovered that through ERA, I could install any .exe or.msi software package onto one of my Windows clients. They said it had to be done through a policy. I'm currently having trouble figuring this out, can you please help? No clients are on a domain but all have ERA agent and Endpoint Security installed. Here is what I need to do and hopefully I can do it all through ERA: 1. get installer package onto local machine 2. apply a policy that will install the package with /silent switches, etc 3. I can then verify the install via ERA I want to do all this remotely and without user interaction. Thank you.
  14. Hi, I'm running into trouble trying to deploy the agent in my network, I always get the generic error "Impossible to start the activity". When I try to generate the report It takes a long time and ends up with "timeout 90000ms", so I can't actually inspect any report. If I look at the file trace.log there are hundreds of entries like "Error: NetworkModule [Thread xxx]: ProtocolLayer: unsupported protocol version, ResolvedIpAddress:x.x.x.x, ResolvedHostname:hostname.domain, ResolvedPort:xxxx": I couldn't find any documentation about this, can you please help? I recently upgraded the ERA from 5 to 6 and since I can't solve this problem, my clients are not updating their virus definitions and keep annoying users about it.... Thank you
  15. Is that possible to create a task - for example an Agent Deployment task - that gets executed automatically only on machines that newly added to a dynamic group? I know there is a trigger named Dynamic Group Members Changed. But it is my understanding it is invoked on all members when the contents of a Dynamic Group change. Am I correct? Any help would be really appreciated.
  16. Hello Forum, i have the deployed the ESET Shared Local Cache Server from OVF. Everythink is working fine. After i upgrade the outdated Remote Administrator Agent in the Shared Local Cache Server to version 6.4.293.0 i see the Alert "Product is installed but it is not running" in the Status of the Shared Local Cache Server in the Remote Administrator. What is going wrong with the Remote Administrator Agent upgrade. Thanks Maik
  17. Hi, I'm a long-time IT guy who just started working last week for someone else after many years of being in business by myself. Needless to say, I'm new in their environment and with their tools so this question may simply be a learning issue. For all of the below I followed the steps I found from ESET. The task for yesterday was to use ERA to first deploy the ERA Agent to all the clients. After a couple of tests I sent the main task off to 64 clients (of which the detail of the results says 26 Denied Access, 40 Failed Task and 38 were successful - not sure how it came up with 104, but that's a different question). Next I tried a test of setting up a couple of Client Tasks to deploy the update using the directions that can be found here: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3605/ Although each one used the trigger type "As Soon As Possible," each one showed up as Planned: "no" even though the detail showed it was set to run ASAP. Since there was no "Run Now" button like I found with the Server Tasks, each eventually timed out with the error "Failed to start task." A quick search of the forums found other things I ran into, but not this one so I'm hopeful that it's simply a learning issue on my part. Thanks, Craig

  19. when I want to upgrade my EES 5.0.2254 to 5.0.2260 using ERA remote install, all client failed with remarks " No upgrade for this client". I try manually upgrade install on the PC successful.
  20. Attempting to install Endpoint Security on clients by direct package URL. The URL is set to file://ServerName/Path/ees_nt64_enu.msi which works fine when run directly from a client but fails with the following error when run from ERA: 2015-04-13 03:34:41 Error: CSystemConnectorModule [Thread 102c]: Software installation failed: GetFile: Source path 'file://ServerName/Path/ees_nt64_enu.msi' does not exist Grateful if someone could let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
  21. Hi! I'm trying to remotely install the endpoint antivirus, using the ERA Server, but the task is scheduled and not executed, i don't know if the server need some patch or the procedure is inconrrect, attach the trace file for your information. Thanks in advance Pablo EraServerInstaller.log last-error.html status.html trace.log.gz
  22. Try to update von 2225 to 2228. Not possible And what means: Did 2225 not working within 8.1U1?
  23. Greetings everyone, We are an MSP and are about the be in the process of onboarding a new client with a large amount of workstations. We will be deploying agents through Group Policy with the MST to simplify the deployment process. Since we don't want to have to sift through a Lost & Found list to manage these agents, I was wondering if there was a way to set the static group using an MST when deploying the agent through a GPO. I was not able to find the documentation for this on ESET's website. Thanks in advance
  24. Hi all, I am doing a large number of unattended ESET Endpoint Security installations via an ERA server, and I noticed that after installation the clients existing network seems to be marked as a Public Network type in the personal firewalls Known Networks, by default. I am trying to run a fully silent unattended installation and I would like the network the client is connected to during installation to be marked as a Home or Office network zone by default instead. I couldn't seem to find any command line parameters for the installer to do it. I also couldn't find a post-installation command line option to change the current network location to Home or Office. I don't want to pop a GUI to the client to ask, if I can possibly avoid it. As the clients are spread all over the place, their network connection details are unique to each and cannot be assigned using ERA policies to alter the known network settings. Do you know of any way to achieve this?
  25. Hi everybody, I use ESET products for a long time now, but I never had a problem I couldn't resolve by myself. I try to update my ESET Endpoint Antivirus by deploying the package 6.3.2016.2 FR.fr by ERA, but it fails. In the computer's log I only found this line : Error: CSystemConnectorModule [Thread a60]: Software installation failed: Package is corrupted or incomplete and nothing in the server's log (only this) : Information: CReplicationModule [Thread 10d8]: CReplicationManager: Accepted potential replication connection from 'host: "pcw7tnsfr.inrs.fr" port: 49887' (product type: 1) Do someone have any clue ? Thank you. Renaud
