  1. You too? How many Wilders members are lurking around in here eh
  2. Don't get me wrong SweX, I'm not changing my best friend either. We go back a few years as well . But the question was "If you had to use another malware solution other than ESET which one would it be and why?" Always got to have a "PLAN B". I will let you know the day I really have to leave the ship....and even if I say Emsisoft or Webroot today, they could be long gone/or have screwed up their products in some way when its time to change, so this answer may not be relevant couple years from now. And I have tested too few products lately (should be used extensively for a few weeks at least) to know what their current versions is like. So I can't say which one I would be able to stay with before I have tried the ones I may be interested in for a few weeks, but it would probably be one that doesn't plant toolbars or extensions in my browsers, doesn't have 51 other tools that I don't want or need, and of course, doesn't affect the system performance. Plan B could actually be a new OS
  3. Mine still says: 1137B.3 (20150324) I live in Dubai 1173.6 here, I am on Pre-release.
  4. Hey foneil, Not that it matters for me personally. But If you go through with that, then what does that mean exactly? I actually didn't even know that you had an account on Wilders.
  5. Then why change a long term winning concept for something else that is not to be associated with the simplicity of ESET, how they run things, and what they stand for. If they would consider your product idea then ESET would enter the "all in one" product territory, and steer away from the simple consumer products that they have developed till this day and what made the ESET brand back in the day, and what it still is today.
  6. I can't say what I would use if I split up with my love since many years back, we are still in love and love each other very much and that's all that matters.
  7. So something/someone else made those screenies. ? That's both scary and crazy, why would these screenshots be found on your system just like that. Especially of your bank logon page! I hope your system is "clean" as this surely sounds a bit suspicious and worrisome.
  8. "specifically engineered for the major testing labs, including AV-C". Specifically engineered to look good in tests, and users that download their product from the vendor website probably thinks what they get is the same product that was tested, but nope. I hope AV-C will exclude this vendor right away and ban them from participating in any future testing by AV-C if this turns out to be true. And that goes for other testing labs that may be affected by this as well. Cheating like this (if true) can't be tolerated. And even if the vendor thought that doing this was "OK" and not against any rule, they should get kicked out. They don't deserve a second chance since they clearly know what they were doing participating with a "special" version made for the tests!
  9. Ehmmm. It sounds like Avast paid or Avast free would suit you very well.
  10. Maybe (hopefully) in the future. But at the moment I can't agree with that. don't trust sites that perform so called tests, it's their opinion not yours. who knows in what environment they mass test the programs? is it a physical pc with full or none installed programs? is it a virtual machine? did they install all AVs all at once and run their "tests" what? always trust your experience and not others. Sorry, what are you talking about now ? I believe you said.... Try AV (a) then (b) then © then (d) etc etc... And none of them would slowdown the pc in any way, no matter what. My response was that I do not agree with that.. Because my experience is not = "no AV will slow down the pc in any way you use it." Some of them are unfortunately very good at doing just that. Then it doesn't matter if you have an ageing hdd or use an sdd, a crapp product runs like crapp no matter what fancy hardware you try to use it on. So, what I responded to has nothing to do with any testing orgz like AV-C, AV-Test and whatever methodology they may use in their tests. If I believe in these results I better change from ESET ASAP, infact I probably should have changed years ago according to AV-Test, they almost sound like a broken record.... "eset sucks on performance" "eset sucks on performance" "eset sucks on performance"....There's literally no need to look for a replacement until ESET runs as bad on my system as it does on AV-Test's test system.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if ESET Australia is not aware of the existence of this forum. In any case ESET is obviously reluctant to talk about the change I too doubt they know this forum exists If the Eset head office is looking to have over 25% of the market here like they have in NZ, they better their act together. All done without the good marketing material from av-test. Kiwis and aussies are smart people, so the % will go up down under too eventually

  15. Just continue to use Sandboxie which is a great product and does all you can expect from a sandbox software.
  16. But I dont understand , why Updater is trying to update only one time??? No retries at all. A little bit stupid. It will check for updates after 60 min again. When this happens just click the update button manually to perform the update once your connection is established.

  19. Can I try that? What do you think of it? You can try yes. But I don't think it's a good idea, I rather see you getting your issue solved so you can stay with V8.

  21. @Marcos, I see, thanks. Always go to know the reason. @dergilb, You can download .312 manually from the website if you want and install over-the-top and it will do the same as if you would wait until the PCU is pushed out again.
  22. What was the reason to stop pushing out the PCU ? I guess that explains why some others say that the internal updater doesn't pick up the new build when they check manually.
