  1. There you see AMS and EB. I would do a clean install by using the ESET uninstaller in safe mode. hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1431124979134#Win_7 Yes it should work fine exporting your settings, and import them after reinstalling. If the import goes wrong, then you can try revert the product back to the default state.
  2. Hmmm there are no checkboxes for the "advanced memory scanner" or "exploit blocker" in your advanced setup tree from what I can see in your black screenshot where HIPS is enabled.
  3. I would disable Defender no matter what Win OS you use.

  6. hxxp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tencent_QQ If this is what you mean it's not exactly malware. If you didn't install it yourself then maybe it comes bundled with other softwares and that's how it ended up on your system. (I don't know if it does it's just a guess.) Have you checked if it comes with an uninstaller, maybe you can uninstall it vi add/remove ? Or is it some other software you talk about ? Do you have detection of potentially unwanted, unsafe and suspicious applications enabled ? hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3204
  7. Marcos said: "Currently Windows 10 build 10041 is the last one supported by modules." In anycase, be sure to have pre-release updates enabled so you get compatible modules ASAP when they are released.
  8. I believe it is up to the vendors to choose if they want to participate or not. My guess would be that ESET said "no thanks" and that's why they're not included this time. I think ESET would perform similarly to last years test, but I agree it would be fun if they were included.
  9. What they say here is nothing else but baloney! hxxp://www.hihuadu.com/2015/05/02/360-withdrew-av-c-reviews-traditional-anti-virus-evaluation-criteria-behind-20812.html Are they having a laugh or what ? The methodology has not changed since testing began this year, but all of a sudden AV-C testing method is not suitable for their product. Then why did they even choose to participate in the 2015 test series at all if it is not suitable for them!

  12. I got the "service unavailable" error a few times yesterday. But nothing today yet... https://forum.eset.com/topic/2289-service-unavailable-please-come-back-later/
  13. I just used my imagination. "nor does it all happens in the underground." hxxp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_area
  14. Yeah good question. Maybe they like the word "polis", there are some "polis" cities in the world, Indianapolis and Minneapolis in the U.S. to name two. They write "protecting its citizens" so I assume its a city of some kind. Internet + metro + polis = Netropolis .....Nah maybe not.
  15. Yeah it works here too now. Hmmm Netropolis....sounds greece, like Acropolis in Athens. Another Netropolis -> https://www.netroworld.com/game/showPage.php?template=about ...."Netropolis is an online multi-player strategy game where you match your wits as a corporate gangster/tycoon against other real people. Buy some land, set up a few businesses and watch the money roll in. Easy, right? Not in Netropolis." It doesn't look like that Netropolis game/website was made yesterday

  17. It's because the product (ESS) checks for updates when you wake it up, but it does it before a connection has been fully established. When it happens just open the GUI and press the update button manually when you have a working connection and the update will be downloaded. Or wait for the next scheduled update that will happen automatically 60 min later.
  18. Just like 99% expected it would be. Not shocking at all. I expected the testings labs to exclude them from participating immediately, but no.... So the testings labs thinks they deserve a second chance. Why should they get a second chance when they knew what they were doing. They should be kicked out and banned from future testing.

  20. hxxp://blogs.technet.com/b/mmpc/archive/2015/04/28/cleaning-up-misleading-advertisements.aspx That's great MS, if we turn off the adblocker (assuming you use one) these misleading ads show up on websites everywhere! But sorry MS, I will not start using IE again.
  21. I would first try to only disable the startup scan that runs after each successful VSD update. BUT leave the startup scan that runs shortly after boot enabled.
  22. I can see you now, you made a post in the "world" thread
  23. hxxp://www.av-test.org/en/news/news-single-view/mac-os-x-under-attack-10-security-packages-put-to-the-test/ P.S ECS/ECSP was not included this time. But ESET was included in this round from September last year..... hxxp://www.av-test.org/en/news/news-single-view/mac-os-x-in-the-crosshairs-18-malware-scanners-put-to-the-test/
