It's Win32/KillFiles.NIR. Not a Filecoder but trojan that deletes original files and creates new files with random data.

Did you notice any impact on performance while playing the game? Or you saw in logs that ESET had updated while you were playing?

That option is disabled by default so I assume that you must have enabled it in the past. Normally users should install ESET and activate it, there's no need to change any of the default settings.

An offline license file can be generated via the ELA portal (ela.eset.com) but it's intended only for computers with no Internet connection. What version of Windows Server do they use? Are proxy settings correct? Ie. if no proxy is used, it must not be set in the EFSW setup and vice-versa. Does https://edf.eset.com/edf open in a browser fine?

Do you have v10 or v11 installed?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to tell without further logs. Please do not install v9 but the latest v11 which has bugs from older versions fixed and also provides better protection.

Please continue as follows: - download ESET Live Installer from ESET's download page - uninstall existing version and reboot the computer - launch ESET Live Installer and install the latest v11 - do not change any settings, only select your network as trusted when detected. Let us know if the problem still persist. In such case, enable advanced firewall logging in the advanced setup -> tools -> diagnostics and reboot the computer. Next disable logging and collect logs with ELC. Finally upload the generated zip file to a safe location and pm me the download link.

You don't necessarily need to use a policy. I'd recommend using default settings, set password to protect settings and enable detection of potentially unsafe and unwanted applications.
