User 13 Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) I use ESS 10.0.390.0 and a manual check for version updates says it is up to date. Also on the download page is still version 10.1.204.3. Additionally since yesterday morning every hour a new virus database update is downloaded ("Die Programmkomponenten wurden aktualisiert") and on every manual check even if there is no new module available. User 13 Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 And what's about this? 1 hour ago, User said: Additionally since yesterday morning every hour a new virus database update is downloaded ("Die Programmkomponenten wurden aktualisiert") and on every manual check even if there is no new module available.
Administrators Marcos 5,466 Posted July 18, 2017 Administrators Posted July 18, 2017 Please post information about installed modules from the About window. Do you have some errors logged in the ESET Event log?

Yes, I know that he is on pre-release updates and I'm using regular updates. But I thought, that only modules with the "P" at the end are pre-release modules. And for the "Prüfmodul für Routerschwachstellen" there is a difference of 2 versions and more than 2 month.
ESET Insiders puff-m-d 120 Posted July 19, 2017 ESET Insiders Posted July 19, 2017 Hello @100, Only "Signaturdatenbank: 15765P (20170718)" will have the "P" at the end of the module version number. None of the others will. This was changed a while back but I do not remember the date. There is no easy way that I know of to tell exactly which module is a pre-release version or a regular version. You can always switch to the pre-release updates to see what module version you will have and then if you are uncomfortable staying on pre-release updates, you can switch back to regular updates. It could also be possible that maybe a staff member could comment on the current version numbers for regular updates but I have not seen ESET provide a public list of current module versions. If memory serves me, the versions can vary by OS version and bitness but I may be wrong. Normally, if your VSD is up to date, it is safe to assume that your modules are also up to date as they both use the same mechanism to update and update at the same time. As far as "difference of 2 versions and more than 2 month", sometimes modules receive several pre-release updates over a period of a few weeks to a few months before they are released to the regular update channel thus accounting for the version numbers and time period. I hope this helps ...
ESET Insiders puff-m-d 120 Posted July 19, 2017 ESET Insiders Posted July 19, 2017 Hello @100, I was thinking that this discussion has gone a bit off topic. You may have a better chance of receiving a definitive answer to your question if you start your own thread and topic... Perhaps with a title like "How can I determine if all of my modules are up to date?" or "How can I determine the most recent module versions available?". Just a thought...
Administrators Marcos 5,466 Posted July 19, 2017 Administrators Posted July 19, 2017 As it was already said, if the version of the detection engine ends with "P", you most likely use pre-release updates and all other modules should be the latest available on pre-release update servers as well. It can occasionally happen that some users have a newer version of a particular module than the others. This may happen with staggered releases when a particular module is distributed only to a limited number of users with the others to follow in the next few days.
User 13 Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 This morning the update to 10.1.219 from 10.0.390 with pre-release updates enabled was found via update-check. The download was about 118 MB, so it seems to be a full download of the new version.
ESET Insiders SM03 16 Posted July 20, 2017 ESET Insiders Posted July 20, 2017 changelog of 10.1.219? anyone?
