Local distributors are responsible for approving gui during the QA process and for possible changes in text that we subsequently consult with translators before the changes are made to the product. You should not expect non-Russian staff to review the Russian version and make corrections or other changes to it. If there is anything wrong with translation of certain strings, please report it to your local distributor and if it's valid, the proposed change will be implemented.
  2. I've configured Mail application with a Gmail account but didn't encounter any issues receiving email with ESET v11 installed. As for Windows Defender, I don't think it intercepts SSL communication like ESET does by default so obviously it can't cause SSL-related issues. On the other hand, without inspecting SSL communication it shouldn't be able to detect malware in it without having dedicated plug-ins for particular browsers or email clients. I wonder if temporarily disabling protocol filtering (or only SSL/TLS filtering) makes a difference in your case.
  3. Please uninstall ESS and install ESET Internet Security v11 from scratch. Do not change any default settings and make sure that you mark your network as home/office network (trusted). Let us know if that helps.
  4. The list of available updates is provided by Windows itself. We don't use any special mechanism for that than querying Windows to get this information.
  5. It's not necessary to uninstall the older version first, especially if you want to retain settings. However, if a user is having issues, I recommend installing the latest version from scratch as it could be some custom settings that are causing it.
  6. Just send a software install task. Installation over an older version has always been supported.
  7. Are you still having these issues? Today some LG servers were down which likely caused this notification to appear. We don't recommend disabling these notifications unless you are connected to the Internet only intermittently. In future versions, these notifications should not be displayed if no Internet connection is detected.

  9. Please contact your local (Russian) customer care. As for the font issue, looking at your screen shot it may not be an issue as most of the menu items now fit into one line. The Russian customer care should confirm or deny that this is how they are seeing it too. This forum is not meant to substitute customer care when tackling issues when more logs and iterations are required. Customer care should be able to assist and track such issues.

We'd need the following for analysis: - a Wireshark log - advanced update engine log (enable logging in the advanced setup -> tools -> diagnostics) Both logs must be from the same update attempt. When done, compress the Wireshark pcap log, collect logs with ELC and provide both files to me. You can upload them to a safe location (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) and provide me with download links.
  11. It's easy to test it - create a firewall rule that will block all communication. Even before creating this rule I had a lot of blocked communications displayed in the firewall troubleshooting wizard. Please contact your local customer care if you experience communication issues, no blocked communications are displayed in the wizard and disabling the firewall from gui actually resolves these issues. I don't think it's a general issue, otherwise it would have been reported by the Russian distributor as they would have been getting a lot of complaints from users. Please contact your local customer care.
  12. It works for me alright with English version. Did you drop a file or a folder? Whole disks cannot be dropped for instance.
  13. SearchProtection is allegedly a potentially unwanted application. Not sure if you have it installed on purpose but I'd recommend uninstalling it.
  14. Since the detection engine is becoming less important with LiveGrid and continual improvements of other protection features, it's also less visible in the product.
  15. You can also create a Wireshark log while creating an AOI which might shed more light if it's failing on downloading the installer.
  16. We don't distribute newer updates to all users at once. Program updates are always staggered which is likely why your v10.1.219 hasn't updated to v10.1.235 automatically yet. As of v11, ESET Smart Security has been renamed to ESET Internet Security (EIS). ESET Smart Security Premium is actually EIS with Disk Encryption and Password Manager features added. You can install EIS v11 over ESS v10.
  17. Still I don't understand what you exactly mean. There's a setting for controlling the initial scan but as far as I know it's present only in business products.
  18. Please provide a screen shot as we discontinued the Facebook scanner a quite long time ago when Facebook made substantial changes in their API.
  19. Unfortunately, I have no clue what you mean by "The enable initial scan field did not exist". Please clarify.
  20. You don't pay any extra fee for ERA as ESET Security products are licensed and require activation. As for ESET Shared Local Cache, it's not needed since most of caching / whitelisting is now done in our security products. In the past, the situation was different so it made sense to use Shared Local Cache on hypervisors.
  21. In case of LiveGrid communication issues, please enable diagnostic logging verbosity in the advanced setup -> tools -> log files. Then you can check the event to find out how often the communication issues occur.
  22. These are not blocked and don't appear to have ever been blocked by ESET. If you are having issues blocking certain websites that you think are clean, please create a new topic in the Malware Finding and Cleaning forum and also post a complete record (line) related to the detection/block from the "Filtered websites" or "Detected threats" log.
