That didn't work either.
Can you confirm the email address marcos posted part of is yours and can I ask where you purchased the license from?
I ask this as people sell licenses on sites like Amazon. They will sell a license that is for 1 user to multiple users, which often gets the license blocked. Problem is that the email address will be linked to the seller.

HI! I already include Secureaplus PUA Detection in detection exclusion and Eset Real-Time protection does not detect the application anymore but why when I run computer scan Eset still detect that application.
Check this https://support.eset.com/en/kb2769-exclude-files-or-folders-from-scanning-in-eset-windows-home-products not on my pc right now but can't remember if there's a separate exception part for real-time and on demand scans

Hi there,
I think it would be very appreciated if there was a shortcut for Gamer Mode in the running applications tray on Windows; where there are options like "Pause Protection", "Pause Firewall" etc. It is somewhat annoying to open the app, navigate the menus, find Gamer Mode and turn it on/off.
Kind regards,
Fırat.
This has been suggested before but I recommend posting your suggestion on here to
I have also suggested something in the past that would in my opinion give you what you want and also be better. An option for allowing users to decide what is shown when right clicking on the tray icon - the idea being that users could put in options they use a lot. However from what I remember, apparently what would seem a simple change, would actually require a lot of backend changes, so probably won't happen, and if it did, not in the near future

You have to trust somebody or something , other than the AV producer , which will claim that its AV is the best thing since sliced bread.
Look at Defender: silent, modest, free, yet 99.9-100% detection in any test in the last 3-4 years. What it is not to like????
Oh I agree. Every AV will attempt to market their product as the best, so AV results can and do play a part. However I always take them with a pinch of salt. People say data doesn't lie but it can be shown in certain ways to make things look a certain way.
i.e a test could look good for one particular AV but someone could have made sure they used samples they knew would make that particular AV look good and another bad. I'm also wary on some of the review sites as certain ones you come across look paid for. It makes me think about a lot of these VPN review websites that are actually owned by VPN companies.
But my main point was that personal preference should also play a part. If you use a particular AV and have never had any issues/never been infected, is it worth moving when one AV scores slightly higher on 1 test. It's down to what works for the user really.
That being said, while I've never been infected with Eset, I do think there are some features that are missing, and I've mentioned this before. My main concern with Eset is it doesn't put things in that could be seen as confusing and possibly risky for general users. @itmanhas in the past suggested a kind of professional version to avoid those issues

From my experience, I have used various antivirus products such as McAfee, Avast, AVG (now Avast twin), Kaspersky, Norton, Symantec Endpoint and even today we still subscribe to three antivirus products. We have McAfee (50), we got this because of a promo, but sadly only 1 we decided to use, ESET Endpoint Security (9), ESET Internet Security (10) and Kaspersky Internet Security (1). From my personal experience, I prefer to use ESET until now. In terms of protection I think they're all okay as long as you regularly update to the latest version and use the pro version, because so far we haven't had any serious problems with any of the three active products. But when it comes to design and ease of modification I personally really like ESET. The things I really like about ESET is the ESET Firewall and HIPS. ESET Firewall is very simple but I find it very effective too, for HIPS I can choose to protect files without having to depend on certainty from virus database. Btw, I have also been following reports regularly from AV-Test, VirusBulletin and AV-Comparatives since 2012. In the end, I only consider these reports as complementary and not the main reference to choose the right product for me.
I agree with this statement:
Just to check, your not using more than one AV at the same time are you?

Lightshot will give you some kind of offer to a toolbar or something like this but not RAV , I know the installer and yes ESET detects it as PUA but not the application itself , just the installer.
I believe it came from uTorrent if that's the two things you recently installed along with Qbittorrent , since Qbittorrent is open source they won't offer any kind of bloatware or toolbars
in the same time uTorrent does
I don't know what kind of antivirus they offer , but it's better to stay away from it , since qBittorent is much safer option than what uTorrent will throw at you.
BiTorrent and uTorrent are owned by same company , and it's not like what it used to be before the program itself , Deluge or qBittorent is a better option since they are open-source.
Update:
Yes I am correct it is uTorrent , Bittorrent is removed by ESET as PUA upon download , Utorrent isn't , I didn't run it but
I'm sure uttorrent used to get flagged as PUS as lots of people complained.
2 hours ago, itman said:I also came across this article on RAV antivirus: https://www.analyticsinsight.net/rav-antivirus-review-an-all-in-one-solution-to-protect-your-personal-devices/. The article, taken at face value, states RAV antivirus is a free AV with advanced Enterprise capability offered to individual users. If you go the ReasonLabs web site, you would believe its protection mechanisms are the greatest thing since "sliced bread."
-EDIT- The analytics.net article linked above states that RAV antivirus can be downloaded from the ReasonsLab web site. Yes, it is listed there as a product. However, good luck on finding any link there to download it.
Here's some company info. on ReasonsLabs: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/reason-core-security . Bottom line, it's a small security software company; if legit that is. The fact that the software is bundled in a number of legit software installers leads me to believe "all is not as it should be" with this software. When was the last time legit AV software was bundled in other app installers?
-EDIT- This is also interesting. RAV antivirus dates to the early 2000's and was actually purchased by Microsoft and used as the basis for Microsoft Security Essentials AV.
It appears there are multiple companies that have had a RAV AV

I agree.
Now if these tests do not represent anything, why the company makes greater effort to participate in the tests?
If these tests were worthless. so that independent companies like av-test and av-comparative would spend money to do the tests? Also a good test result can be good marketing. Some people will put too much trust in tests however and move AV depending on results. A bad testing AV is obviously not a good thing but for me it tends to come down to your own preference and being safe also plays a part.
The scary thing is that many non professionals are testing AVs these days i.e via YouTube. A lot of these testers can manipulate the results e.g. by not showing everything they did. I saw one YouTuber who got accused of trying to show a virus that a particular AV had missed but the tester had apparently put the virus into the AVs exceptions, but not shown this

Only thing I can think of is an extension installed for Chrome is causing this. This would explain why the alert comes when using chrome. You could try disabling extensions one by one at chrome://extensions/ - disable one and see if that fixes it - if not enable and then disable the next. If one stops the issue, it is the guilty one

Hi.
What can I do??? I opened an email as the surname was the same as someone I know but it turned out to be a malicious mail 😞 The sender has stated I need to send bit-coin to avoid having 'pictures' of myself sent to everyone in my contacts!!
Can anything be done at this stage to stop a promised virus attack if the payment is not made? I have reported as a 'phishing scam'
Most emails that claim to have pictures of you, tend to be false. They use scare tactics to make people think they have compromising stuff, which they don't. In some cases, they will put a password in the email to try and make you think that this is genuine. Sometimes the password is just a guess, but in some cases, they will gain them from published website breaches, to make the email seem genuine

Just adding my own thoughts. Do you have any screenshots of proof of what you have paid. You showed a screenshot for 60 dollars, that for how much everything should cost, but all the screenshots for what you have paid are far less

I'm referring to firewall learning mode.
Thanks
Someone else might be able to help you with the learning mode as it's not something I currently use, but your Son might be fine with just Automatic, which is the recommended setting for general users/non technical users.

I should also add that new versions tend to contain bug fixes and also features that previous ones don't i.e. some old versions of Eset do not include the ransomware module (not sure what version introduced this). By remaining on an older version, specially one as old, you don't have the latest features or bug fixes and thus are more at risk.

I need you to realise that neither Eset nor Kaspersky nor Dr.Web can find it. I used Dr.Web only to create a log.
privileges it raises itself through local policy. Antiviruses do not find it, because it is perfectly encrypted. soon, when it reaches a certain level of privileges, it starts to intercept api, so and because of this the number of svchost.exe grows before our eyes and heavily loads the laptop at that
You have mentioned 3 AVs on here. Are you using them all at once? Having all 3 installed could explain some issues as you should only really use one AV to avoid conflicts.
You've also not confirmed if you have a license for Eset. This forum is for Eset members. Support is limit if you haven't got a license e.g. general product enquires. As itman suggested you'd be best using a forum dedicated to general malware removal that isn't attached to a specific AV

unfortunately i'm baffled by hips settings
As mentioned disabling doesn't need any technical experience. By disabling one and then testing the game, if it doesn't fix it you can rule that setting out. Just enable it and then disable the next setting.

Hi,
Does anyone have positive experience with other Internet Security Suites but for whatever reason end up with ESET?
I was thinking of Trend Micro, must have firewall so Security Suite, have anyone used it in the past and can share overall unbiased opinion e.g. not only product itself but support.
Thanks
I've used many AVs in the past but prefer Eset.
I should however warn you that this might be classed as against rule 15 of the forums
15. Do not post "A vs. B" or "Which product is best?" type messages in the forum.

Hello,
I had a ESET Internet Security license which I did not renew, but bought another license via the US site. I was recently contacted by the local ESET distributor which I had bought the original license which I did not renew. The local ESET distributor told me that if I have a license that was bought from a different country than the one I now live in, I do not get specific, local virus protection. They said that if I bought the license from them, I would get virus protection specific to viruses prevalent in my country. Is that true? I was under the impression that ESET virus protection is worldwide and there are no specific updates per country.
Thank you
Sounds strange. Where did you originally reside? As marcos has mentioned its always recommend to purchase locally and I belive some licenses can be country specific, but protection should always be the same at least virus wise. Either this was a scam email, something was lost in translation or the support over their is misinformed

I wonder being a game if some game protection is being used that might be what could be causing the conflict but this is just a guess

Also i found a way to have infinite trial license on eset, basically you uninstall eset, then remove all resedual file and then re install it and click free trial and use another email and have another 30 days for free without paying, i don't know if a lot of user know that but that what i do since, uhhh i don't know how many time and i was gonna do it for re having a protection again also thanks for telling my i had a trojan applauncher.exe i will look it up
I wouldn't be surprised if this is against esets terms and conditions as you are basically attempting to use a paid product for free by creating multiple accounts

This is just an AV testing company so just depends which AVs they decided to use.
I don't know a lot about AV tests but I do believe some do cost so a company may decide not to pay e.g. they decide to invest more in the product itself.
Can't really say what the specific reason is here

Hello ,
When I hover over the ESET icon on taskbar I get "ESET NOD32 Antivirus 15.0.23.0". This info is somehow useless because I know it is ESET NOD 32; I installed it and the icon is for ESET.
Why not saying last time when updated??? For that I have to go deep inside to get this info.
Thanks!
I'd recommend posting it as a feature request on here

Problem with sites like these is they cannot validate the license so someone may sell a license to more than one user when it was only purchased for one. The license will then automatically get blocked as it detects more people using it than should be. For this reason it's always recommended to purchase from Eset itself

Can you confirm your windows is up to date with latest Windows updates and patches? This has been mentioned a few times but didn't see any replies so apologies if it has been answered
-
As mentioned is your windows update up to date as stuff suggests that it isn't. As Itman mentioned, Eset will block attacks that try to use vulnerabilities, but to actually properly prevent them, you need to make sure you are fully patched.
Please confirm this

As mentioned in this topic bellow
I'd like to suggest having a page that shows a list of all modules and their version numbers, dates etc. for both Stable and Pre-Release updates.
The idea is simple - if someone thinks their product might not be updating, they can check the list, and see if their modules match. I've seen some people question that some modules haven't updated in a while, and have worried they have a problem. This would reduce posts about this, and mean people can possibly identify update issues.

ESET now censoring content!!

Posted
Would it not be best to warn the user this site has previously been known to have malware or something similar.
Mentioning that this may be unwanted content is very vague wording. Better to protect yourself
