EIS v11.0.144.0 In-depth Scan
TomFace replied to TomFace's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Still been communicating with support. Here is the latest reply. They are sticking with it! Kudos to Support! Got a reply....Today at 9:54 AM Hello Tom, Thanks for checking in. While completing internal testing, we produced inconsistent results over the time span of 15 days. On some systems, the number of scanned files during a scheduled scan were higher in version 11.0.149.0, and on others, the number of scanned files were higher in version 10.1.235.0. I used Windows 7 and Windows 10 VMs for internal testing, utilizing ESET Internet Security for each test. Last week on Friday, December the 1st, our developers released a new build of V11, 11.0.154.0. Today, I will be completing additional testing, as this latest build contains several new fixes and corrections. I will send you an update once I have further results from this latest build. Thank you for your continued time and patience while we test this matter, -
I don't Tweet.....do not do social media. But thanks peteyt for the suggestion. Thanks ottochris! Glad I'm not alone Alexander.Badjin. I was hoping I wasn't THAT special That same thought (hacked) crossed my mind (or even another CCleaner fiasco that one still stings a bit).

You're faster than I am CH! Guess I'll just wait and see what they do in the next 24-36 hrs. https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=ghostery.com&latest

SSL Certificate Expiry Dates
TomFace replied to ottchris's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
I am having a similar issue...see https://forum.eset.com/topic/13948-ghostery/ -
Something that is non-ESET........Is anyone else having issues using Ghostery? I see their cert expired today (getting notices from EIS): And when I try to go to their website to inform them (via IE11 and Firefox) I am unable to get there (even if I pause Ghostery protection), like they're offline. Or is EIS stopping me from going there? I blocked the action (as a precaution) when the EIS notice came up. If I recall correctly, in the past when I blocked questionable certs, I was usually allowed to proceed. The Ghostery icon is giving me a blocking count so that seems to be functional. Any thoughts?

Scan Progress bar
TomFace replied to whiplash2-1's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
For my PC a cursory (aka smart) scan is about 20 minutes. A complete in-depth (as Admin/ALL files) scan is right around 2 hours. I do not need an inaccurate progress bar. It's not rocket science. Even if the scan is running when I'm on my machine, it does not slow me down. -
Scan Progress bar
TomFace replied to whiplash2-1's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Most of the scan progress bars are like that...inaccurate. Appears to be a common trait (not just ESET). -
Posting issues here on the forum can also give you some ansers and share the information with other users. By the way, welcome to the forum Tech_GT...we are glad you are here! https://www.eset.com/us/about/contact/ https://helpus.eset.com/

That is the tech support page for Business customers. When you click on Home Tech Support you see this page: As far as I can tell it is functioning correctly. What do you think Fer?

Did you try the second (alternate) solution....conflicting programs? https://support.eset.com/kb532/ Although it may be a bit of work, but you might want to try a total uninstall/re-install using the ESET uninstall tool.... https://support.eset.com/kb2289/?_ref=zap but wait to see if anyone else chimes in before doing that.

Black Friday's deals
TomFace replied to Leonardo's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
I am referring to purchasing "boxed" license (i.e...from a retailer like Amazon). If you purchase a license from ESET or their authorized partners, odds are that license will be activated upon purchase and may supersede your existing license (check with your ESET local office or their authorized partners). You activate a purchased "boxed" new license when you want to or need it (at the end of your current license timeframe). I have done that for a number of years, buy a license (or three)on sale, save it till my current license almost expires and then activate the new one (maybe a day or two before my current license expires). Sorry for any confusion. Here are some previous threads on this subject: https://forum.eset.com/topic/12843-2-copies-of-nod32-antivirus-2017/?tab=comments#comment-64243 https://forum.eset.com/topic/8052-licensing-question/?tab=comments#comment-43548 https://forum.eset.com/topic/4171-eset-upgrade-option-2014-2015/?tab=comments#comment-24063 -
Black Friday's deals
TomFace replied to Leonardo's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Hello Leonardo. Yes that should not be an issue. I still have 2 or 3 licenses that I have purchased previously that I plan to use in the future. A valid license allows you to download the latest (same product) version. -
All you have to do is consider the source. According to John Alex "we are asked to "believe"". I must have missed the religious sales pitch by ESET. As Marcos said "there's nothing like 100% malware detection". That also hold true for everything that exists materialistically on this Earth. Any rational person known that. Some folks like to change their A/V more often than they change their underwear. Not my idea of a hobby (or worthwhile practice...changing A/Vs that is). John Alex is just trolling (again). Please don't feed the troll, if you do it'll never leave.

Oh boy....another A/V comparison..... Let's stop the presses and wait for the other shoe... Firewall FireFox issue
TomFace replied to Seth's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Who are you asking? Seth or itman? Quoting the poster might get you a response/answer quicker. Ask Marcos what logs he requires, and "portability" of what? Not sure what you're asking. -
Facebooks answer to revenge porn - send facebook the pictures!
TomFace replied to peteyt's topic in General Discussion
Just another reason I do not need help from social media to get in trouble. I can do fine ALL BY MYSELF. Plain and simple...just don't use social media...and as SCR said, keep your clothes on (and stop being stupid). Is it that complicated? -

You may want to review this KB article: https://support.eset.com/kb3466/ To send Marcos a Personal Message (PM), click on Marcos name, and it will take you to his profile, then click "message" and add your logs to the PM. -
Active support
TomFace replied to galaxy's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Really? All I did was search ESET Germany. Here in the U.S. ESET support has always been good, usually responding (or at least acknowledging) within 24 hours (often times within mere hours). I am just a user, but Marcos is the ESET Moderator/Administrator. https://www.eset.com/de/ https://customerservicecontactphonenumber.com/Customer-Service-Number-of-ESET-Germany/
