  1. These days it's a "Scam de jour" in the USA. Just don't open unknown e-mails, don't click on ANY pop ups (use Alt + F4 or Task Manager to close them) or call the toll free numbers they show and don't answer unknown callers (and DO NOT call unknown numbers back....*67 (number blocking) does not work on toll free numbers). You wouldn't invite a totally unknown stranger into your house to steal whatever they want would you? https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/scam-alerts?utm_source=takeaction
  2. Here is the latest from ESET US Support: (I am not sure if I'll receive any more updates from Support. If I do I will post them here) ____________________________________________________ Update for Case #XXXXX - "Progissue - Otherprog" An ESET Technical Support Representative has updated this case with the following information: Hello, Thanks for your reply. We needed to rule out the issue with the scan file count was not due to a corrupted product update from v10 to v11. We did some internal testing with this after your reply and was able to reproduce the issue on our test environment. In older versions of ESET that "scan to administrator" was there when scanning your computer from a standard user account. We have escalated this issues to our developers for further analysis. Thank you for using ESET security products, ESET Technical Support North America
  3. Same results after uninstall & re-install Log Number of scanned objects: 409874 Log Time of completion: 2:23:00 PM Total scanning time: 1372 sec (00:22:52) Just referred it back to ESET Support.
  4. Hello illumination and welcome to the forum. We are glad you are here.
  5. I have idle state enabled....here is Support's reply.... *********************************************************************** Update for Case #XXXXX - "Progissue - Otherprog" An ESET Technical Support Representative has updated this case with the following information: Hello, Thank you for contacting ESET North America Technical Support. To troubleshoot this issue further, please use our uninstaller tool to remove ESET and any older remnants and reinstall the ESET program. 6. You're spot on peteyt. I may be getting older but (most) of my memory is still intact (but a couple other things may not work).
  7. Think I'll open a ticket with US Support. I will post their reply here when received.
  8. I do not see a selection choice to "run as administrator" when setting up my scheduled scan. Where is it pray tell? In previous versions (up to 11) I do not believe there was a choice to "run as administrator" when setting up a scheduled in-depth scan....it just checked all the files automatically. It's was that way for years/many versions.
  9. I too use LastPass (Premium & Win 7x64) and have NO ISSUES with BPP. I open a BPP window and LastPass is there and functions without an issue. So I am not sure what Ash is talking about.
  10. OK....I have reviewed my scheduled scan settings and am still getting a cursory scan (400,000 or so items) instead of an in-depth scan (2M+ items). Smart scan is NOT enabled in my in-depth scan profile...pretty much everything is set to default for that profile. So what do I have to do?
  11. Have not had this issue before when setting up a scheduled scan...final count was 2069351 at 2 hours 10 minutes. I will review my scheduled scan settings (again).
  12. With all the hoo-haa about v11's release, I think the 30th anniversary of NODs code development was (kind of) overlooked. So I just want to say Congratulations ESET on 30 years of protection and product development. It's easy to get lost in the day to day issues, but 30 years is an accomplishment to be proud of!
  13. No smart optimization set...only use that for a quickie scan. Always use in-depth for on demand and threat detection scans. Been that way for years (set in my ways).
  14. http://help.eset.com/eis/11/en-US/idh_config_windows_update.html?zoom_highlightsub=windows+updates This is what peteyt was referring to. What does your ESET gui show?
  15. Previously with v10 (and before) my in-depth scans would take around 2 hours and scan 2M (approx.) files/items/whatevers. Now with EIS v11 my in-depth scan take around 22 minutes and only scan about 420,000 whatevers. What gives? My scan selections (as far as I can tell) are the same. Any ideas? I use Win 7 x64. ********************************************************* Update 3:36PM EDT 10.26.17 Decided to do a custom scan...same targets but scan as Administrator and it is still running...so far 1836681 files/items and 1H 14mins. I am the Admin of my system.
  16. Razor is spot on with my issue....if however there is another issue with LiveGrid it should be examined. I have not had another notification since disabling the non-connect warning (again I do not leave my machine connected to the internet if I am not on it). I think I will re-enable the LiveGrid connection notice and document when I get the notice.

  18. Regarding the rename error...no. Think I'll wait and see (may do a repair...or not).
  19. Well I don't think that notice was in v10. Disabling the notice (while keeping the notice for LiveGrid being disabled) works for me.
  20. Thanks razor....I keep forgetting about the section (another senior moment).
  21. Thanks SCR, but a couple reboots did not help. The signature update info also used to show on the start up splash screen, that too is gone. I have run across another "change". As I do not stay online with the internet all the time (only when I need to use it), I now get a yellow indicator on the ESET icon in the taskbar and a yellow gui indicator: Granted when I do go back online, the yellow does disappear in short order and I do want to use LiveGrid, so another adjustment on my end is in order. Also just got a new error message that I need to check into. I may have gotten that one in the past but I'm not sure. Think I'll do a repair first and see what happens. By the way, I really haven't even started to look at the new features.
  22. The link you posted seems to work OK for me...what happens for you? Here is the link to the US download page https://www.eset.com/us/download/home/ Select your product and either download the live installer or the offline installer (Download option/configure download).
  23. Did a clean install and all appears to be well.... Will take some time later today and check things out. Two things I noticed already is (1) the ability to manually request an update is missing from the update section (showing RED due to not being connected to the internet). Also (2) when hovering over the ESET icon in the taskbar, it only show the version information and not the latest update information.
  24. Thank you SCR & itman for the additional information (as no ESET Mod has replied to this post or a PM). It is appreciated. SCR I did not think the words "All service Ports" & "common Ports" were even clickable links., looked like plain text.
