  1. And the 10/2/17 @ 6:14PM EDT response is........ My name is XXXXXXXX X, thank you for contacting ESET North America Technical Support. Based on that unique error, I would recommend manually uninstalling ESET to reinstall it. Our team has not currently had that reported to us in the past. For illustrated instructions to manually uninstall your ESET product, visit: http://support.eset.com/zap/kb2289/ ========== REINSTALL ========== After you have completely uninstalled your ESET product, you can reinstall your ESET product. For illustrated instructions to reinstall, visit :http://support.eset.com/zap/kb2788/ ********************************************************************* I am just going to wait & see....sometimes the "manually uninstalling ESET to reinstall it" advice is handed out way too frequently (in my opinion). Besides that, it's a pain in the backside to do it. In other words..."we don't know...but do this...it MAY help." I would think if someone would do some digging/inquiring they would find a bit of information somewhere. I am normally very happy with ESET Support, but this is a disappointment.
  2. The latest version (as of now 10/2/17 1:20AM EDT) is 16172. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing?
  3. What Anti-malware are you referring to? I find ESET ESS BPP just fine by itself. If you are talking about MBAM 3, I would advise against it. MBAM2 played nice with ESS, but since the upgrade to MBAM3 many folks have had issues (yours truly included). I ditched MBAM3 even though I have a lifetime license.
  4. As I recall a ESS/ESSP license will allow the user to download NOD32 instead of ESS/ESSP. A NOD32 license will NOT allow a user to download ESS/ESSP. It's a cost thing.
  5. Thanks ch. I was hoping a ESET Mod might jump in and offer some sage advice. I did the repair last night which took me back to ESS 10.1.204.0...rebooted and then went back to 10.1.219.0 rebooted again....so far so good. But I'm with you as I have been using ESS for quite a few years and this is relatively new to me as well. ********************************************************************************************* 9/30.17 update I submitted a ticket to ESET US support and will post their response here when received.
  6. Well...all I've ever known was the e-mail deal....so if you want to be lazy that's your business. It's your dime.
  7. Thanks to the both of you...I think it happened once before....there were no ill after effects then...but I think I'll do a repair and reboot anyway. Haven't been on the machine all day...was off line (literarily). Watering the lawn and doing yard work before autumn really sets in. Enjoying the sunshine and cool breezes after about 6 days of 90+ degrees F.
  8. This error just popped up. I was not doing anything with ESS. Could someone please shed some light on it? I could not find a KB on it.
  9. Did you follow this KB article? https://support.eset.com/kb141/#SubmitFile KB Solution ID: KB141 |Document ID: 11090|Last Revised: June 15, 2017
  10. I am using LastPass which does have two-factor authentication available. Took a bit of getting used to it, but having 70 or so passwords, a password manager is a useful tool. And no, I am not being subsidized/compensated by LastPass. How-to-Geek had a write up (12/16) on password managers you might want to take a look at. https://www.howtogeek.com/141500/why-you-should-use-a-password-manager-and-how-to-get-started/ https://www.lastpass.com/how-it-works
  11. Peter does that mean that with v11, ESS users should be downloading ESET Internet Security, or will the download link automatically do ESET Internet Security?
  12. Shouldn't this thread be moved to https://forum.eset.com/forum/31-eset-beta-products-for-home-users/
  13. Nothing like a good malicious threat/tantrum to try and get your way child. The sign of a upright and forthcoming person....NOT By the way, false positives need to be reported here: https://support.eset.com/kb141/ *********************************************************** Just saw this.... https://www.welivesecurity.com/2017/09/28/monero-money-mining-malware/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+eset%2Fblog+(ESET+Blog%3A+We+Live+Security)
  14. Same question...different version... it will be out when it's ready. (is it Ground Day again?)
  15. Kim Jong Un already has a rocket to do that.....or is it a "White Cloud" toilet paper tube rocket he has??
  16. Only if you download anything other than the slim version.
  17. I don't believe anything Avast has to say. The people that I can truly trust I can count on one hand. SCR I'm with you...Win 7 and nothing (except ESET) updates without my permission.
  18. What makes you think any law enforcement agency is even looking at this? I sincerely doubt that they (1)are aware (2) even care. Sorry if I sounded jaded, but in my life experiences I have learned a few things. One of them is cover your own butt as no one else will. Your thoughts have just re-enforced one thing with me...I am done with CCleaner. After this and the Equifax debacle, my faith and patience is somewhat reduced. Thanks for your thoughts itman. They are appreciated.
  19. I had that in my favorites and it has always worked...till now. I'll change my favorite. (Thought I was just having a senior moment.) I believe davidenco already reported the other issue to ESET UK. Thanks Fer.
  20. Not sure if this is related, but when trying to open https://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index/?page=home&locale=en_US&option=none I'm getting this using IE11 and this using Firefox 55.0.3...
  21. When I look around the thread concerning this (on the CCleaner forum) it's my opinion that some folks are getting tired of the questions and inquiries that CCleaner users are posing. I felt a bit insulted at some of the responding posts (like it won't affect you so get over it...). Again it's just my opinion. I'm not sure if I will re-install CCleaner...ever.
  22. See comment #118 at https://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=48869&page=6 May be all about $$$....nothing would surprise me these days.
  23. I haven't streaked in about 45 years...not going back now, can't run as fast.
  24. Either you're a trifle bit confused (comparing a PUA to a trojan) or attempting a humorous interjection...but the conversation is at : https://forum.eset.com/topic/13175-ccleaner-v5336162-and-ccleaner-cloud-v1073191-had-been-compromised/?page=2
  25. I had more recent restore points....but I cleaned house recently....lesson learned.
