  1. Hi @joecoo1025, It's been a few days now and we wanted to check in and see if your issue has been resolved and if so, whether the above answer was helpful. If the issue still exists, we'd love to continue assisting you. If the issue is resolved but the above answer was not the solution, please reply and let us know how you were able to resolve the issue. Hopefully this will help others who may have the same issue. Thanks!
  2. Hi@clydeman there are many possible ways to customize or set up ESET NOD32 Antivirus. Do you remember anything specific you were trying to set it up for?
  3. Anything after the first three sets of numbers (7.0.302 in this case) is simply a regional localization suffix. In this case, it refers to diferent versions of the EULA for various regions. So your version 7.0.302 is up to date, regardless of which numbers come after that. Thanks for the great question!
  4. The following method in this KB Article might be of some help: "How do I configure SMTP client threat notifications?"
  5. Based on what he posted (American expat), I believe the OP is not currently located in the United States which would explain why he's getting a localized website from our Latin American region. That said, you should be able to download and install the product you purchased in any language that's offered worldwide. That option should appear in the opening screen when the Live Installer is run. If you download the offline installer, you can replace "ESL" in the URL for the .msi file to "ENU" to download the English version. So for instance, download.eset.com/.../ess_nt64_esl.msi becomes download.eset.com/.../ess_nt64_enu.msi
  6. Thanks for the kind words. They have been passed on to our team here. And thank YOU for your assistance on the forums. It's been invaluable. Seriously. B)
  7. Here is an ESET KB Article answering this exact question: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3433 Another giving you stand-alone removal tools for six variants: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2372 For others, we'd recommend contacting ESET Customer Care for removal And today's recent blog post about Filecoder from ESET Malware Researcher Robert Lipovsky: hxxp://www.welivesecurity.com/2013/09/23/filecoder-holding-your-data-to-ransom/
  8. You may want to contact the ESET sales team in the UK. You can find their information at hxxp://www.eset.co.uk/contact or simply email them at sales@eset.co.uk OR call ( 44) 0845 838 0832. They should be able to renew your license for you for just the 1 computer you need to cover.
  9. Seems like an obvious question but also wanted to address Gamer Mode (which is disabled by default) and verify that the lag still persists with Gamer Mode enabled.
  10. Hello, This is to let you know that in one week, ESET will be discontinuing the use of guest accounts on the forum. Effective September 7th, you will need to create an account by clicking on the blue Create Account button before being able to post messages or create a new topic. This change is being made in order to make it easier for customers to provide us with detailed communications, which is not handled very well using guest accounts. It will also allow members to send and receive private messages, automatically filter posts (ie. "Content I Have Not Read"), and will prevent confusion over and abuse of identities (this has not been an issue to date, but may have become one as the forum continues to grow). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact a member of The Moderating Team. Regards, ESET Forum Administrators
  11. To submit a possible false positive to ESET for analysis, follow the instructions for your issue using the link here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/e...soln141&ref=esf Current discussion on blocked sites and possible false positive discussion can continue here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/250-eset-has-blocked-my-site-what-to-do/ And with that, we'll lock this thread.
  12. My recommendation would be the following: 1. Uninstall the current app - KB Article describing how to do that here: SOLN2542 2. Install the latest version of EMS which automatically starts up a free-trial session If you purchased from ESET directly, go here: https://www.eset.com/us/download/home/detail/family/25/ If you purchased from Google Play, go here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eset.ems2.gp 3. Once you've renewed your license, you can activate it in product (Menu > Licenses > Activate with username and password) In regards to adding unsecured Wi-Fi to the exception list, I'll inquire about this. If any other ESET staff have further info on this, please chime in guys.
  13. DrTeeth, in the KB Article that was posted, did you scroll down to section III and within Advanced Settings uncheck the box next to "Enable Gamer mode when running applications in full-screen mode automatically?"
  14. From the other thread previously pointed to: https://forum.eset.com/topic/774-ess-the-never-ending-update/page-4 As a side note: I had this issue on my own machine after seeing an "Application Update" window, so I've been dealing with it as well. I've been receiving VSD updates normally and all other portions of the program appeared to be working as usual (scans, updates, etc). Like the rest of you, I'm glad to hear there's a solution that will be pushed out tomorrow. Also glad to know protection was never in jeopardy and this seemed to be purely a graphical bug.
  15. Because the forum is public, we've restricted the ability to upload potentially malicious files to the site and we discourage posting links to potentially harmful sites. Thanks for emailing the file. Where did you email the file to?
  16. Internet Explorer 11 is still in Developer Preview. Many changes may still be made before the final version is ready and it is officially released. Shortly after the final version is launched, this detection will change.
  17. This has been a point of contention in the past and we understand the frustration. It's true that our labs receive hundreds of thousands of samples every single day and resources often don't leave them or us the ability to respond to most submissions. Unfortunately, no one on the forums has the authority to change the way a URL or file is detected or listed. In the meantime, please follow the instructions in our Knowledgebase article on submitting false positives:
  18. If you are in the US or Canada, I'd recommend giving us a call. Our numbers can be found using the link Arakasi posted. Please keep us updated here on how this goes for you.
  19. The conflict comes with the real-time scanners on both products. If two or more programs are trying to scan the same files at the same time, it is going to cause serious system issues. Usually this manifests during startup where the system either won't boot OR after startup, the system will lock up. This is why it's recommended to only run one program (ie. Antivirus software) that has a real-time scanner at a time.
  20. If your issue has already been solved at this point, please post a response giving the solution that resolved your issue, so that others with the same problem can come here and know how to fix it. Thanks!
  21. We have an entire website dedicated to ESET tutorials, called the ESET Knowledgebase. We even offer most articles in multiple languages.
  22. The answer was given by Marcos in this thread There is also already a thread for this issue (website blocked by ESET). Let's keep the forums clean and you can post your replies there. I am now locking this thread.
  23. This KB article may have the solution: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2861
  24. Thank you, @Near_Far. I took care of those threads and I'm scanning the forums for more. Unless the link to an executable file comes from ESET Staff, it shouldn't be posted publicly on the forums. There are times when ESET Staff will request a file but that should always be posted via direct PM.
  25. ANNOUNCEMENT! We are pleased to announce the Grand Prize Winner of our V7 Beta Feedback Contest, @Arakasi! He and a guest will be joining us next week at Black Hat USA in Las Vegas, Nevada. Arakasi provided some significant feedback which (along with all of your feedback) is already being used by ESET developers to improve the quality of our V7 products. Congratulations to you Arakasi, and a big thank you to all of our Beta testers. That said, our v7 products are still being beta tested by some awesome people, YOU! Thanks again for all of your efforts and help and please keep the feedback coming. CONGRATS ARAKASI! We'll see you at Black Hat next week!
