  1. I've passed this on to at least one of the two. We'll see if they respond. Have you guys done it yet?
  2. To quote you from earlier post in the thread: Or in this case "Where'd dwomack go?!" Apologies for being gone so long guys. Had valid reasons for being gone but I should've given a heads up. My bad. Now staying on topic: have we addressed the original points of the thread?
  3. He always made me laugh. Great acting range, and comedy came as naturally to him as breathing. As someone wrote, he could play any character in the world, but in the end he couldn't play just "Robin Williams." Depression is a real thing. It doesn't care who you are or what your status. Educating people about it and reaching out to those who suffer with it is important. Simply showing patience, kindness, and respect to everyone is even more important. Sad to see him go.
  4. The conversation in this thread has gone far off-topic and I have hidden these posts to keep the thread on track. Web Protection: I have just reached out to our product managers again. Their response is that the product does not yet include this as it's a slightly different scanning engine. They are taking it as a suggestion for future versions. Thank you for your patience.
  5. So the judges have convened and this year's Grand Prize winner for a trip to Black Hat goes to ... ... [drum roll] ... ... CALDERA! Congratulations! We deeply appreciate all of the feedback we received from all of you. We have some very helpful suggestions on how to improve the product and of course, the compliments also made our day! In the end, there were some very high-quality entries and as cliche as this sounds, because everyone says it for these things, the decision truly was extremely difficult in the end. For those in North America that submitted feedback, we're working on getting your Mobile Security licenses extended by a year or getting you a new license altogether. For Caldera, we're working to get you and your guest registered for Black Hat and we are very excited about meeting you both in Las Vegas just two weeks from now! Again, congrats Caldera and well done everyone! I'll be closing the thread shortly but want to keep it open for any congratulatory comments anyone wants to leave to Caldera.
  6. I'm seeing some strong candidates coming through on the last day. Great work guys! We have until 11:59:59 PT to get more submissions in. Can you top the entries so far? And the competition is now closed! The judges are going over our submissions and we will announce a winner by the end of the week. Thank you to all for participating!
  7. Firewall: Not possible without rooting the phone; EMS will not install properly (often at all) on a rooted phone; we strongly discourage even trying Anti-phishing: as you stated this is already included in the Premium version of EMS Privacy advisor: EMS does contain Device Monitoring and Application Audits. If you are asking for advice on privacy, there's plenty of relevant posts on WeLiveSecurity - if something else, please explain more clearly. Parental Control: This might be a useful feature in the future. We'll look into it. I'll inquire internally about the Web Protection request. If another ESET staff member has deeper insight about it, they can feel free to respond if I am unable to reply before they are.
  8. Thanks for the great compliments! Is there anything you've noticed about ESET Mobile Security that can be improved? We're always looking to improve upon where we are now. Your thoughts could help push us to even better heights!
  9. Your suspicions are correct in that we never would sell or offer any user information to another company. Can you give us a bit more information on this piece of spam? Obviously, while they can be helpful, be careful in not posting any links or direct URLs to keep other Forum users safe. Once we have more information, we can look into it.
  10. That's a great way to start the competition! Last year's winner showing how it's done. WTG, Arakasi Now for the rest of you... Let's see what you can do!
  11. Awww what's wrong with Chrome, @Arakasi? haha @dagwood5454 please let us know if clearing cache/cookies/history works for you or not. EDIT: I've already made our web team aware of this and they are looking into it as I type this. Thanks

  14. Just wanted to make sure we addressed some of your original concerns, so we brought this to our Product Managers for further explanation. Below is their response: - Why the EULA is stored on the desktop? This isn't a nice and it also isn't a sign of reliability. Why don't display the EULA only (like all other software does) or install it on the USB drive? Great feedback. We'll look at moving the EULA to the thumb drive. - After installation there pop-up many windows at once. (It's not such bad but it isn't nice too.) We can't reproduce this. Could you possibly provide us with a screenshot? - After activating trail license I get an e-mail with a link where I should seen the "licence information". But I saw nothing because the link (links to this file) "redirects the request for this address in a way that will never complete." (Firefox says) We'll work on this. Thanks! ~ It does not autostart of the drive and I understand why, but... This is out of our control for the software part. When pre-installed on some of the secure drives (for example Kingston encrypted drives), the DriveSecurity software is pre-activated in the partition and does start automatically. - ...if so you should make it clear (in the help file) that the users must start the EXE manually! I think some users would think it don't needs to start manually. You're right and we'll make this more clear in future versions. - The design: It is not the kind of design I know of ESET. The kind of design I know from ESET is simple, meaningful design. And this GUI hasn't this design. This is because DriveSecurity is not an ESET product. It uses NOD32 engine but the product belongs to ClevX. Overall we (ESET and ClevX) have received quite positive response in regards to the minimalistic design approach of the DriveSecurity UI but we're always open to suggestions as we try to continuously improve the product. - Attention: The e-mail-address for the license is saved in plain text - no encryption is used (path: <DriveLetter>:\ESET\email.txt)! This isn't good because maleware (specially adware) can read this e-mail simply and send you spam. And also in the logs this e-mail-address can found simply! You're right. Good point and we'll work on this. - No self-protection: Also if DriveSecurity is running I can do almost all with the files in the directory "ESET" It's designed this way because we don't require any admin rights. - Sometimes it has got over 60 MB RAM usage. Usually this isn't a lot but on older computers it can be a problem. It uses the same engine as other ESET products. - Removing the volume securely (with Windows feature) don't work correctly. After trying to do this - DriveSecurity exits but then you can't remove the drive securely too. DriveSecurity needs to be stopped first; there is a turn off button on the Dialog or you can right-click on the system tray and exit. - It has no function for checking for another product version. (not only the update for the signature database) This is definitely on our "to do" list - If maleware is found it is deleted. Why not a quarantine? (or maybe zipping the file should also work) It works this way by design. Again thanks RugK for the thorough and well-thought out feedback. Also to add a quick reply about adding this to existing products, again in a few ways it already has been. DriveSecurity is based on the NOD32 engine which exists in all ESET products and these products also include features to scan and block removable drives.
  15. This training was created by our North America office for our customers here in the US and Canada. After strong interest from customers, we asked for the training to be included in-product and this was approved. Other ESET offices have not requested this training and so the products for their region do not include it. If you’d like to see this training included either in-product for your region or on your local ESET website, please contact your local ESET distributor. We are currently in the process of updating the training with new information, a new look, and the intention to extend it to all ESET customers worldwide. When or where this might be available has not been decided at this time, as it’s still in the very very early stages.
  16. We allow (and encourage) users to help other users. In this particular case, if a user makes a feature request and a user either sees a way the issue causing this feature request can be resolved, we absolutely encourage that user to share their knowledge. There may be other cases where one request sparks an idea for another. That's also acceptable. We're always looking for ways to improve the product and user experience. Anything that brings about positive change is welcomed and should continue to be encouraged.
  17. Have you tried updating Flash? There should be no regional restrictions on the game.
  18. Good idea, @SweX. I'll suggest it.

  20. Sounds like a good time to talk 2FA. Lysa wrote a nice piece on this, I think. hxxp://www.welivesecurity.com/2014/05/21/ebay-hack-password-stolen-customer-data/
  21. Having worked with ESET Customer Care for almost 3 years, I can tell you that comments like these can really make your day. The men and women that I work with are really amazing people and it feels good to read a post like this and still have no idea who handled your case, because it could've been any of them. Thank YOU Adam, for taking a moment out of your day to send along the kind words. It means a lot.
