  1. Hello jbruyet, We have received a couple of complaints regarding NetBIOS name resolution, IP addresses shown in the ERA console, etc. We have reworked the feature and included the new behaviour in ERA 6.2. This behaviour provides solution for the situations when the IP address or computer name were shown incorrectly (or outdated) in the ERA console. ERA 6.2 will be released today so you don't have to wait for it much longer. Once the update is available, you can perform an upgrade according to our help page: hxxp://help.eset.com/era/6/en-US/index.html?component_upgrade.htm Regards, T.
  2. Hello edgy61611, It is not usual that a malware would change language settings of a legitimate product installed in your computer and I doubt the change was done deliberately by anyone. From your screenshots, the product seems fully functional, if we disregard the changed language. That is not how a malware would operate - there would be errors, denied access, missing files, or the program wouldn't start at all. Did you reach out to VeraCrypt's support? It is possible there is an issue with the product itself, how it saves your preferred language, etc. Anyway, we will be glad to assist you furher, should it be confirmed by the developer that the VeraCrypt software had been compromised. Regards, T.
  3. Hello dvickery, Please specify versions of ERA and EFSW, as versions 6 have been reworked and function differently than the previous versions (mainly concerning configuration, policies, etc.) In version 6 it is the Agent (standalone application installed on the system) that communicates with ERA and the server's address was defined upon the Agent's installation. In case of previous versions, you can check Advanced settings of EFSW > Tools > Remote administration to see the address of the server it connects to. Also, you can check your ERA console to see when the client last connected, what its assigned policy is, etc. Regards, T.
  4. Hello losimagic, Can you please confirm whether this hapeens also when you open advanced settings (by pressing the F5 key), go to Computer > Gamer mode and uncheck "Enable Gamer mode when running applications in full-screen mode automatically"? Gamer mode postpones all scheduled tasks in order to keep the computer's full performance available for full-screen apps, such as games. Maybe the lock screen in Windows 10 presents itself to the system as a full-screen app, which triggers this feature in our product. Thank you.
  5. Hi jimwillsher, Let me clarify this issue: There are two different entities in ELA portal - license owner and security admin. License owner has access to the license key and can perform all actions with the license. When you activate the product by directly entering the license key (either to ERA or to Endpoint), you are activating the product as the license owner. In case you log in with your security admin account and perform the activation by choosing one of the licenses in this account, the product is activated by the security admin. As the license owner has higher privileges than the security admin (security admin is only delegated by the license owner), the license owner can deactivate all the licenses, but the security admin can only deactivate the licenses that were activated used the very same security admin account (i.e. not by entering the license key, which equals activating as license owner). As Michal stated above, there will be some changes to the permissions of a security admin account, so that you can manage your licenses more easily. Regards, T.
  6. Hello novice, For instance, if somebody changes their license, without the link to activate the product, they would have no possibility to enter their new license. As for the notification about license expiration, other posters before me were right - when you renew your license, you do not lose a single day, they are counted in your new license. However, when you buy a separate license, the system can't know it is still you, the licenses are not connected, thus the remaining days from the old one can't be transferred in that case. However, as you saw in the screenshot that SweX posted, you can disable the notification altogether, so you certainly have a choice. Regards, T.
  7. Hi, these policies can't be currently exported, however, its entire content is a setting of proxy server to the asdress of your ERA server. Have a look at the attached screenshot, there is nothing more in the policy, just this one screen, so you can set it up manually.
  8. Hi jimwillsher, I am glad you found a solution that suits your needs. However, it should not make any difference whether your clients are on your local LAN or not. In both cases, they should be reporting to the same ERA server, whether locally or from outside your network, so the deployment task should run regardless of their connection - provided your ERA server is accessible from outside your network (by port forwarding or similar method).
  9. Hello tecnicoredes, A regular user can't stop the protection, only users with administrator permissions can do that. However, it's been already suggested as an improvement for future versions to ask for a password regardless of what rights the user has.
  10. If a ping from the server to the client can go through, the wake-up call will work just fine, regardless of the geographical location. Network connectibility is important.
  11. Hi, I am not sure if this is what you mean, but if your client connection interval is set to let's say 20 minutes and you need a client to connect immediately, you can send a so-called "wake-up call" (it is one of the options after clicking the client in the client list). A specifically formatted packet will be sent to the client (in case your network architecture allows for it) and it will connect back to ERA right away.
  12. Hello verus, you did not mention which version of Endpoint you have installed on the client computers. Anyway, ERA v6 does not offer the mirror feature in the same way as previous versions anymore. You can either set the clients to update directly from ESET's servers, or you can create a mirror by another Endpoint product - not by ERA v6, though. A new feature in ERA v6 is that if you installed the HTTP Proxy feature during ERA installation, it can cache the update files locally so that clients which are set to update from the ERA server's IP address don't have to download the files from our servers via the proxy again, but use the cached files instead, thus saving bandwidth. Was this was you meant in your initial question?
  13. I think there was a misunderstanding - trial licenses are not sold, they are given out for free. To, literally, give the product a trial run, see how it works, see if you like it, etc.
  14. Yes, some partners opt to use the EAV- format also for trial licenses.
  15. Hi, Licenses using the format TRIAL-XXXXXXXXXX are intended for people who want to try our products before they decide to purchase. This license gives you access to full feature set, there are no limitations. Validity of this license is usually 1 month (with exceptions in rare cases). Usernames like EAV-XXXXXXXXXX are regular licenses with a full expiration period of mostly 1 or 2 years (again, with some exceptions such as 3 years or 18 months) and can be obtained by purchasing the product from ESET or from our resellers, getting it in a bundle with a new computer, or by receiving a NFR (not-for-resale) license, e.g. by winning it in a competition, getting it with a magazine subscription, etc.
  16. Hi samlargitte, Check if you have selected the correct network protection mode when installing ESS. To do so, open ESS, go to Setup > Network and click on Change the protection mode of your computer in the network. If "Public network" is selected, choose "Home/work network" instead, so that sharing with other devices on your network is enabled.
  17. Hi jedduff, You can create an Agent Live Installer from the webconsole's slide-out side menu, in which you specify the server's hostname and the certificate (along with its passphrase) and push the resulting file to your computers. Note: These computers need to have an internet connection available, as the actual agent's installation package will be downloaded directly from our repository upon running the created live installer. EDIT: Please be aware that installing an agent to a computer does not automatically install NOD32/ESS, you need to do that as a next step.
  18. Hello, please use English language to communicate in this forum. Based on translation of your post, I recommend to follow the steps in our knowledge base article. In case you bought EMS via Google Play Store, it is this one: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2949 For purchases from eset.com or other resellers, it is this one: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3068
  19. Hello, in case you think the website should not be detected, please contact our Malware Research Laboratory at samples@eset.com with detailed description of the reason why you think the detection should be removed. Please note that we (moderators or other ESET staff at this forum) have no possibility to influence the detection and the decision or communication about detection is handled exclusively by the Malware Research Laboratory.
  20. Seems like just the information about the presence of our antivirus solution is missing in Windows' Security Center. Does reinstalling ESET Smart Security help?
  21. The most efficient way would be to contact our Austrian partner by means of email, you can find all their contact data at https://www.sicontact.at/hilfe/kontakt You can attach the ESET SysInspector output to the email.
  22. Hi Utini, So I tested the situation in the same environment (ESS 8.0.304 on Win 8.1 x64, disabled checkbox "Allow modification of signed /trusted/ applications") and the selection of apps excluded from checking (which I added manually) stayed the same even after a reboot of the system. Therefore, this might be a specific issue on your PC, so I recommend to submit this as a support ticket to your local ESET office.
  23. Hello Whitehat76, The option to use files from installed product is available only on 32-bit operating systems, since the created SysRescue disk will also be 32-bit. You can always download the full .msi installation files from our website by choosing the offline installer (hxxp://www.eset.com/us/download/home/detail/family/5/#offline) - and again, you need to use the 32-bit file, even on a 64-bit system. Anyway, I would recommend the new Linux-based ESET SysRescue Live, which does not need Windows AIK kit and comes as an .iso image ready to be burned to a CD/DVD, or you can download a small utility that will allow you to create a bootable USB drive as well. You can download it from here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3509
  24. Hello brihy1, I assume your network is using WEP encryption, which is easy enough to break nowadays, therefore ESET Mobile Security reports the network as if it was not encrypted at all. We recommend to use WPA2, which is considered to be a standard encryption for WiFi networks these days.
  25. Hello Utini, For starters, we would need to know what version of our product you are using and on which operating system. Then we can have a look at the issue and tell whether it is a regular bug, or just some incorrect behaviour in your case.
