Administrators Marcos 4,844 Posted July 17 Administrators Share Posted July 17 Yes, there will be newer versions of ESET products compatible with macOS Sonoma shortly before its release. Chas4 and Peter Randziak
Chas4 4
It might work on the beta macOS 14 but can't be guaranteed, you can try disconnecting from the ESET Web & Email proxy in macOS network settings
root 1
I had to uninstall eset - it blocked network totally. Once uninstalled everything works like a harm. The last macOS ver by eset supported is ventura. We pay subscription continuously and unable to use the product eset Edited July 23 by root
Administrators Marcos 4,844 Posted July 23 Administrators Share Posted July 23 According to https://www.macworld.com/article/1670742/macos-14-release-date-features-compatibility-beta.html, a final version of MacOS Sodona is scheduled for Autumn 2023 which is when an ESET product version compatible with it will become available. root 1
Marcos, please note, we were not able to activate license "ESET LiveGuard Advanced for Endpoint Security + Server Security" on Ventura and Monterey machine as well. We issued a ticket and official support (https://www.eset.com/pl/about/contact/) judged that license (functionality) is not supported on MacOS. Does it support Win machines only ? ESET Moderators foneil 342 Posted July 24 ESET Moderators Share Posted July 24 ESET LiveGuard Advanced FAQ regarding compatible licenses and products:https://support.eset.com/en/kb6569-eset-liveguard-advanced-faq#oper_7 Full list here: https://help.eset.com/elga/en-US/req_and_supported.html
root 1
foneil thank you for the answer, but the question is why eset doesn't like Mac users. " For desktop and laptop computers, Microsoft's Windows is the most used at 69%, followed by Apple's macOS at 17%, and Google's ChromeOS at 3.2% (in the US up to 8.0%), and "desktop Linux" at 2.9%. In addition, 5% is attributed to "unknown" operating systems - which are likely forms of BSD or obscure varieties of Linux.[4] (source: Wikipedia) Mac is 17% holder worldwide, so in particular countries it can be > 50% (USA?), whilst linux is only 3% and is acppraciated and in effect supported by eset. Chas4 4
V7 is a rewrite and pro has more features that have to be redone and tested than non pro, and the enterprise ones similar with the rewrite and some other kinds of testing with business related options, also with making sure it is compatible with any future changes macOS 14 requires
root 1
Chas4, v7 is "endpoint antivirus" ver only. The latest "endpoint security" is 6x ver the latest: https://www.eset.com/int/business/download/endpoint-security-mac/ v7 antivirus: https://www.eset.com/int/business/download/endpoint-antivirus-mac/ Liveguard is supported for Win & Linux users only, pitty.... "Which operating system environments can use ESET LiveGuard Advanced for analysis in a controlled environment?ESET LiveGuard Advanced works with supported ESET security products on Windows and Linux. The analysis starts on the operating system, where the sample has the highest chance to do harmful actions. Parameters cannot be manually defined." Chas4 4
root the business line up has more things than the home user apps do and v7 for cybersecurity just got a rewrite, also they have to do some testing for macOS 14 that comes out later this year. macOS does have ESET LiveGuard (maybe not advanced yet as it still takes time to write and test the code). There is also a separate forum area for ESET Endpoint Products.
sesk 20
as far as i understand, root has right, LiveGuard is not available on macos products https://help.eset.com/elga/en-US/req_and_supported.html
Chas4 4
v7 of Cyber Security has live grid like v6 (not as advanced as the Windows side)
sesk 20
LiveGrid is there, yes. LiveGrid and LiveGuard are not the same. Why would LiveGrid on macos not be as advanced as the windows counterpart? https://help.eset.com/essp/15/en-US/idh_config_charon.html#:~:text=The ESET LiveGrid® reputation, their behavior in a sandbox. Chas4 4
LiveGuard looks to be part of the business line of ESET products not the home line (like what this area of the form os for).

Chas4 4
Version 7.4.1200.0 might show as a prompt in ESET Cyber Security to update (installed for me without needing a restart of the computer, just need to wait a bit and it will show after it installs)
