Bitcoin scam

Recommended Posts

Submitted this to ESET yesterday but hasn't been added to the blacklist yet. Kaspersky have already added after my submission.

it's reported as potentially unwanted software.

by blacklist you mean block access to the website entirely?

If it is a scam should it not outright block it?

ESET blocked it after my submission here. But I agree with @peteyt. ESET should outright block it.

I believe this falls into the same category as software cracks. Where they will warn the user but because the site is benign and doesn't do anything they won't block it. It is up to the user to make the decision on what to do. I believe most users will see the warning and leave but there will always be some that will not trust the warning and choose to proceed anyway.

This does seem like a fair balance. Where the user gets to decide and not get annoyed by the anti-virus.
