Malwarebytes 2.0

Hey Tom.

Yep I got it! But I only use MBAM on-demand like I always have so I can't say much about how 2.0 works in real-time. :)

I have the paid Lifetime version on all 5 of my computers (4 Windows 7 and 1 Vista).

The only problem I am having is that sometimes I cannot shut down and have to go thru a simple change in procedure to do it.

I understand that they will be releasing another set of fixes soon and I hope that this problem will be included.

I ran the beta on all 5 of my computers and mentioned the problem on their forum but never saw any other mention of it.

Yes, my fingers are crossed.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is true

I would simply continue use of Malwarebytes for the second db and Registry object scanning it performs.

Hello Arakasi :)

Proper configuration of HIPS and all problems are solved :)

This avoids having to install a second scanner;)

Regards;

Vigen.

Who said i had problems ?

I have multiple on-demand scanners, and ESET does not have the registry object scanning that Malwarebytes has .

I used to use Malwarebytes but I no longer use it nor do I recommend them.

I believe in only having 1 resident real time scanner, anything more is asking for trouble, thats just my opinion.

I tried using Malwarebytes 2.0 realtime protection with ESET Smart Security 7 and seen a very big noticeable performance hit, even with exclusions set.

On Demand scanning for Malwarebytes would be fine I guess, but, I wouldn't use its real time protection

I believe ESET offers adequate protection for me, and don't see the need for any outside assistance from Malwarebytes.

Just my opinion.  :)

Please don't give users mixed signals based on experience with said software. State the facts - cite links and don't  generalize.

Please explain how this is related to me ?

It has nothing to do with me, and your accusations are incorrect.

I don't give mixed signals, i use MBAM with real time protection and have no issues.

The facts are stated in the link i provided in post #11, that link also does not dismiss mbam, nor eset.

What is generalized about the link i provided and the statement i made.

When Malwarebytes 2.0 was introduced, I actually started using it in real time. So far ho hick-ups or hang-ups. :) I do regard ESET SS7 as my main work horse. Each serve their own purpose.

It was a figure of speech SweX - Relax !!  This a New Forum and definitely not Wilders. Lets all behave like adults and get along and concentrate on keeping users running virus free.

If it was meant like a joke then i'm sorry but it wasn't that obvious to me anyway.

If you also would have used a smiley such as  :P  :D   ^_^  then it would probably have been a little bit easier to figure out.
