  1. this is a question I am very interested in as well, but unfortunately there are not quick answers to it. As other threads have illustrated, there are other reasons beyond ESET's control that can affect the "green border" and perhaps BPP altogether (such as browser plug-ins, OS, processes, etc.) and while we can confidently say that if you see the green border you are protected, without looking at other logs/processes etc., I don't think we (but this is just my opinion, not official ESET statement) would be able to have such confidence if the green border is missing, simply because we can't say for sure for your system and installation. I am working on a Knowledgebase article that has some methods for testing whether the protection is working, green border or not, and I hope that will help users answer some of these questions. Fer Hello, Some News? Regards Sorry, nothing yet -- my KB colleague (@marty_c) did make a new how-to video for adding new banking sites to the secured browser (it should be available soon in the ESET Smart Security/ESET NOD32 Antivirus 9.x playlist). For the article I have in progress that addresses this thread's issue, I do not have the technical ability nor authority to publish content related to this without SME (subject matter expert) review, and that has not occurred yet. No ETA at the moment either unfortunately. Fer
  2. I’m not sure what product this is for (you posted in General Discussion), but the following Knowledgebase article should help: How do I transfer my ESET product to a new computer or device? However, all the information to install on the other system is in the Order email you mentioned—just uninstall from the previous computer and you’re all set. If this is for Business products, the solution will probably be different (with regard to license administration).
  3. I moved this to the Smart Security forum for better visibility @peegypops, best bet may be to start a support case with your local partner, see Option 2 here hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3742/ Additionally, @Gonzalo Alvarez summarized some known troubleshooting steps for BPP issues, and you can see those at that thread https://forum.eset.com/topic/7911-no-green-border-or-protected-by-eset-for-banking-payment-protection/page-2#entry43749 The first solution is to Repair your ESET Smart Security installation: Repair an ESET installation using the uninstallation wizard
  4. @TomFace I'm not the best person to answer those questions -- but I think we can determine the availability and functionality for the next 1 1/2 years by looking at the upcoming Betas and how BPP works there hxxp://www.eset.com/int/beta/edition2017/ Regarding the main OPP from @carmor, this is a question I am very interested in as well, but unfortunately there are not quick answers to it. 5. Which Download pages do you see the old changelog, I just checked the /int and /us pages and they both show the .377 (English) version. Regarding current build number, the .377 should be the version for English, but there are different build numbers for other language editions (for example, for .376 I show PL, CZY, and SKY, which language edition did you install (and what's the file path for the installer to doublecheck)? I'm sorry for the confusion regarding latest build numbers, this is something we (me in Knowledgebase along with web team and product managers) are discussing in order to make this a smoother process for communicating new builds and how to determine the current version available.
  6. Hopefully this addresses your question -- we do have an Online Help topic with information for scheduling Triggers: hxxp://help.eset.com/era_admin/63/en-US/index.html?admin_ct_executions_trigger.htm We link to that topic from the "How to create a Trigger..." KB article hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5790/#Trigger You can set the Triggers to do X each day.
  7. You should be able to install the .377.1 version from the Live Installer hxxp://download.eset.com/special/live-installer/eset_smart_security_live_installer.exeor with the offline installers (select language from the portlet on the left of the KB) by selecting the "Install newer version" check box.
  8. You had me at "it may not work for most people..." haha, but yes, my QA did indicate that this is a viable solution for users that have sufficient (or in your case, abundant) system resources.
  9. yes, this is possible, though with the version 6 products, not the recommended solution for server load issues (potential, depending on how many clients are checking in). I believe that the following ESET Knowledgebase article would help anyone else looking to do what @cpetry did: How do I configure an ESET an endpoint product to function as a Mirror server? (6.x)
  10. That is a good point though @chrcoluk, in that our content doesn't specify if you are trying to activate version 8 products. We don't have a converter (afaik) that works backwards, to convert a License Key to U/P. Quote: ESET introduced a new License Key (previously known as Activation Key) that replaces Username/Password license credentials. Therefore you will need to convert your Username/Password credentials here to activate latest ESET products. This should probably say ESET introduced a new License Key (previously known as Activation Key) that replaces Username/Password license credentials in version 9 and later products. Therefore you will need to convert your Username/Password credentials here to activate the latest ESET products.
  11. @bapamiller here are instructions: How do I enable or disable pre-release updates in my ESET product?
  12. Thanks @Sicilia42 for following up your resolution. Yes, I see from the ESET SysRescue Live product page that the system requirements don't include Windows 10. I have updated Knowledgebase article How do I use ESET SysRescue Live to clean my computer? with the system requirements. I've also inquired with developers regarding compatibility and will provide an update when I hear something. Fer
  13. As I thought, the Anti-phishing feature is the only one that requires the web browser, so no other protection features are limited by you using Dolphin--meaning, you still get the benefit of all the other ESET security protection features, of which there are many see hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2744/ I'm marking this best answer because it's pretty awesome. Thanks to my Slovak colleagues for the answer to this question so quickly, you know who you are.
  14. I am looking for information related to compatibility with other browsers for other features, because it's possible you still have sufficient protection for other things when using an alternative browser. But I believe you are correct regarding Anti-phishing specifically--this is from the in-product help: Anti-Phishing integrates with the most common web browsers available on Android OS, for example, Chrome or the default Android web browser. If I can get more information feature by feature, I will add that information (and this information as well) to the EMS for Android FAQ.
  15. Can you verify that the HTTPS certificate was assigned to the iOS MDM policy in part II? Regarding the KB article, the only thing I *think* is missing, is in the screenshot Figure 4-1, the certificate should be shown in the HTTPS certificate section.
  16. Sorry for the delay -- below is a list of the top seven requested items for KB content after the release. I went through them quickly and think that the articles listed below each address the original requests (except for two): 1. Improved threats options in the Web Console and the process for managing threats How do I configure SMTP client threat notifications? (6.x) hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5668/ Clear resolved threats in the ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (6.x) hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5727 2. Offline Mirror Tool to create stand-alone offline update mirror for ESET endpoint 3. Support for ESET Mail Security 6.2, ESET File Security 6.2, ESET Endpoint Security 6.1 for OS X 6.1 and ESET Virtualization Security hxxp://support.eset.com/search/?search=evs&segment=business=business-grid 4. Option to deactivate licenses on computers using a Server Task 5. Viewing ESET SysInspector Logs in ESET Remote Administrator Web Console hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3692 a) Option to migrate policies from ERA v5 and b) ability to change exported configuration into policy hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5717/ 6. Filtering computers based on workgroup memberships using the Dynamic group template expression hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3741/
  17. There was a space in the hyperlink, also for getting directly to KB articles, you can type in the KB#### in the search box (KB2899). thansk but it leads me to a 404 page " ESET Knowledgebase Not Found (404)We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. Please go back or go to ESET Support For additional help: "
  18. You can add a firewall rule (just the first 6 steps in the following KB article) -- hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2899/
  19. Along with the web page TomFace provided (which gives most of the /US channels, for US users, you can access the Live Chat directly here: https://helpus.eset.com/ For all support request channels, also see hxxp://www.eset.com/us/support/contact-us/
  20. Thanks for including other workarounds here for this issue. Different network configurations as well as deployments (for instance, whether a clean install or upgrade) seem to affect the solution for each environment. We've published KB article hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5852/ with a combination of solutions we've used with support cases, this forum thread, and information from ESET engineers. We will continue to review this post and the solutions in kb5852 for this issue.
  21. ESET SysRescue Live is a free utility that you can use to restore your computer if it is damaged by malware or other threats. It allows you to create a bootable disk, in the form of a USB flash drive or CD/DVD, with the ability to scan and clean your system even when you cannot boot into Windows. ESET SysRescue Live is a Linux-based malware cleaning tool that runs independent of the operating system. How do I use ESET SysRescue Live to clean my computer?
  22. I experience this daily, but I am able to always easily resolve it. I haven't investigated the technological reason further, but I suspect that (in my case) it has something to do with the Apache server taking a little bit to start listening. I also tend to remove the previous URL because it is a path to the last location you were at in ERA -- I don't know if that correlates to the solution, but I have had the most success by navigating/refreshing back to the 'root' Web Console URL: localhost/era/webconsole, and logging in again. It resolves for me every time. That might just be for my use-case, but it may be a worthwhile troubleshoot to try because it's so quick. Regardless, I am working on a new Knowledgebase article that will synthesize the existing knowledge compiled on this error, and will provide the known solutions to it. Expect it forthcoming. Here is a brief list of the solutions I've seen offered for the Web Console error Login Failed, Connection has failed with the state of 'Not connected' Internet access is required for both http and https protocols without authorization hxxp://help.eset.com/era_admin/63/en-US/index.html?faq.htm(and for v6.2 as well) Check if ERA Server service is running or MS SQL Server service. If not, start it. If it is running, restart the service, refresh web console and then try to log in again. hxxp://support.eset.com/kb743/ It seems that the Apache server takes a few minutes to actually start listening even though the service is running The other issue is that Apache does not update the new path for Java when it updates Solution: You need to update the path to the new Java Update by using this program found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\bin\Tomcat7w.exe When you open the exe it will show you a path. Follow that path and you will see that Java changed the path for the new version. Simply copy and paste the new path into the dialog box replacing the old path ad click OK Here is a quick screen grab video of this error on my VM and how it resolves (after about 50 seconds): ERA WC Failed State Not Connected.mp4
  23. See if this article helps, it doesn't address the possible error though, just how to clear threats: Clear resolved threats in the ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (6.x) hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5727
  24. For existing tasks, you can use the Run on as you found -- but just FYI that in ERA 6.3 the create trigger/add target process was changed, as you noticed, and you now do that step after adding the Client Task. This is documented here: How do I create a Trigger and add Target computers or groups to execute a Client Task? (6.3) [hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5790/] We are in the process of updating relevant KB documentation that mention tasks, triggers and targets.
