device white list not working
MichalJ replied to amityservice's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Maybe it will be resolved by the module updates, as there was a topic similar to this one. https://forum.eset.com/topic/8621-bug-in-device-control-update-module/ -
It will be created in ERA. There will be a new wizard, that will allow generating the package. It will look like this (screenshot).

You have to completely disable the monitoring of Windows updates in ESET Endpoint Security / Antivirus. The screen you have configured for Endpoint only sets what is displayed locally in the Endpoint GUI. You have to disable operating system update monitoring, which you can do by the following setting:

Firewall-Policies not adding?
MichalJ replied to a topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Hello, as of now, it is difficult to provide exact estimate. Internal target is to change it to the upcoming Endpoint 6.5, which is scheduled for Late Q4 release. However, this information is preliminary only, and could be confirmed once the scope has been closed. -
Hello, for such requests please approach your local sales office. We do have a set of battle cards, against common security vendors, however I am not sure, we will be able to address request of this specific customer. General answers for the questions: 1, ERA does not offer user-centric management 2, ERA offers "collection based configuration settings" as you can apply settings per static / dynamic groups and based on individual devices 3, ERA offers "dependency based software distribution", based on dynamic groups / static groups, so you can configure specific criteria for a group membership, where task is then executed, if the group is used as a target of this task 4, ERA does not offer any application catalog. it can install even 3rd party applications, however this is done on a per-app basis. Exception is in case of ESET which are stored in the ESET repository. 5, ERA does not offer any "desired configuration monitoring". You can see, which products are having which policies applied, you can also request configuration, however you can´t automatically enforce remediation.

Hello, It´s not possible to map features of Microsoft SCCM to those of ERA, as the use-cases of both consoles are a little different. Microsoft uses SCCM to cover broader set of use-cases, including the configuration of the operating system itself. Why is this needed? You need reasons to justify purchase of ERA, or you are a re-seller, that has a prospect, that wants this kind of comparison?

Clients deactivated itself without doing anything in ERA
MichalJ replied to schuetzdentalCB's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Please send me your public license ID (in a message). I will check the validity of the license, in our licensing system. -
Clients deactivated itself without doing anything in ERA
MichalJ replied to schuetzdentalCB's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Client in general should not deactivate itself. Are you sure, that somebody has not initiated deactivation using ESET License Administrator? I would recommend doing activation again. -
It will be added to ESET Remote Administrator repository during next week. Concerning the bundle installer, it will allow creation of a all-in-one package combining ERA Agent, Endpoint Antivirus / Security, initial configuration for both, license, and it will be also possible to configure target group, where the installer will be placed. Please note, that this functionality will be available for Windows Endpoints only. ESET Remote Administrator 6.4 is planned to be released on July 12.

Manage Policies has no information- ERA 6.3
MichalJ replied to tmuster2k's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
Hello, the difference between the "applied policies" and "manage policies" is as follows: "applied policies" shows you all of the policies, applied on a client, from the perspective of inheritance from all of the groups / direct assignments (that is the merged list). "manage policies" allows you to change the assignments for the particular computer / group, but only for that one client / group - you see the direct assignment and you can change them directly, however only for that partciular object. -
Hello, we have identified issues with the notification functionality. We will work on fixing them in the future releases of Endpoint, specifically Endpoint 6.5, which is currently planned for release in December 2016. I will try to get more information for you, concerning possible workarounds / intermediate fixes (if any).

era agent deployment
MichalJ replied to marceltomaskovic's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
If you have the old(existing) clients still configured to connect to ERA 5 (they are still Endpoint 5), you should be able to do it. If you have already installed Endpoint 6, you won´t be able to do it, as you can´t configure Endpoint 6, from ERA 5 anyhow. Once the ERA Agent is deployed successfully, it will basically transfer the management to the new server directly. NOTE: There are some things, you need to consider, once migrating to ERA 6: if you were using mirror, please make sure, that you reconfigure Endpoints, to update from a newly setup mirror server (ERA 6 does not feature mirror), or reconfigure them, to communicate via proxy server (you can install Apache HTTP Proxy), where the updates will be cached (this replaces the mirror functionality). in case of ERA 5 and Endpoint 5, it was not necessary to set update parameters on the Endpoints if they were not updating form the internet. Now, you have to activate all of the Endpoints, to enable them. Please prepare, to perform activation tasks once you have upgraded to Endpoint 6. You should also activate, when you are planning to update via the proxy, as that is the way, how the update credentials are delivered into the older Endpoints. -
Can you please provide a screenshot, of your policy settings. This has nothing to do with ERA agent. Basically, notifications are either sent by ERA server (server notifications), or you have configured Endpoint products, to send them directly. You have to adjust configuration in ESET Endpoint Security policy in order to limit the messages you are receiving.

Hello, The hardtoken without compound should work in the same way as mobile app OTPs without compound. However when you will be using VPN which does not validate username and password by itself, then by using only hardtoken OTPs (not compound) you will be able to log in just with the OTP – this would not be considered as a two factor authentication. With mobile apps, there is also PIN protection, which could be theoretically consider as a second factor (emphasis on the “theoretically”), but hardtokens do not have PIN protection. So with VPN that do not validate ADpassword we recommend using hardtokens with compound turned ON and for those which validate, you can use without compound option.

Please make sure your VPN is able to validate AD username/password by itself. Attached is the screenshot of the setting.

No, this is just the release of the Endpoint Antivirus and Security for the OS X. New version of ERA agent, will be released together with the new ERA server version, which should happen in the mid-July. As of now, the anticipated date of ERA 6.4 (previously referenced as ERA 6.3.50), is July 12, 2016.

You need to create a new report template. You can do it in the section "reports", by choosing the option to "create new report template". You need to choose the output of the report to be "table", and then you need to choose the appropriate data fields (symbols). You add data, related to "installed applications" (search works). Once you choose the first option, other options will be pre-filtered, meaning you will get only the the symbols, that are related to the first one. More info can be located here: hxxp://help.eset.com/era_admin/63/en-US/index.html?reports.htm However, such report already exists in the ERA, and is called "installed applications". Please check the following KB Article for further help: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3638/

Firewall events in ERA Console
MichalJ replied to katbert's topic in ESET PROTECT On-prem (Remote Management)
We are currently evaluating this, and it might be added to the future versions of ERA (the earliest release window would be winter of 2016). But this feature is not yet completely confirmed, so please do not take this as any form of promise. -
You will experience problems only in case, when the machine which was activated using offline file connects to the ESET Licensing Servers. Otherwise it should work OK. If you want to keep it activated with offline file, I would suggest, that you restrict the affected machines from reaching to ESET Licensing Servers, so you can be sure, that there are no issues in the future. Also, you will have to replace the license files, once you convert the license from trial, to standard paid license.

Hello, in short: yes. But, please make sure (with your VPN vendor) your VPN is able to validate the AD username and password by itself (not all VPNs supports this). If everything is as it should be, user enters username and password and then is prompted for OTP.
