If you don't use a proxy why you are going to use a proxy ? , I don't think Marcos did mean that you should install a proxy to get what trouble you are having to be fixed.

@Vitokhv , How did you know that this was a virus? , because ESET has labeled it as suspicious as seen in the screenshot?

Why not , if you feel like that this version was the most stable for you , then why not, unless there are security fixes in the newer versions it would be more recommended to stay up-to-date but in your situation where something has only worked only with an older version , then roll back.

You could restore your father's PC to earlier state that wasn't infected using System Restore Or you could boot into safe mode and then after than you can run Malwarebytes to fully scan the PC , maybe it could pick up something and help you with running ESET again. Or you can just follow Marcos' advice.

Did you try to use something else than Chrome ? , like Firefox and trying to do the same things will it trigger ESET?

The conflict is coming from Chrome side after their recent update , well I think that both Google and ESET should release some patches to deal with the compatibility problem.

So let's say a virus/malware hides itself somewhere near the AppArmor I think it will be troublesome for ESET v4 to scan it because the virus is protecting itself from being scanned through AppArmor , even though that AppArmor will also prevent the malware from touching the system like it does for ESET , but isn't that an option? , if ESET v4 cannot open most of the files in Ubuntu due to AppArmor then it's failing to do it's job , right?

Yeah I already set this on Semi Annual after I got bluffed by the 1804 , now I just wait for the update to be stable and tested by lot of people/users and then I will roll to update , or when just Microsoft forces me to update again.

And when updating to RS4 they broke the mic functionality with their new permissions without telling anyone so you needed to spend time to search on the internet what the hell has happened, and now with their RS5 they started removing files from drives and problems here and there , I don't know why they don't make the update spend more time in testing, atleast a delayed release is a better than now-unstable release

So what you are trying to say that when you reboot your Ubuntu , ESET doesn't save the username and password that you have used for activation and it asks you to re-activate? Enable Gufw Firewall in Ubuntu and use it along with NOD32 , I do that. - hxxp://gufw.org/ gufw should come installed in Ubuntu no need for installations , but if it's missing you can find it from terminal

It seems that Microsoft has patched that exploit.

These days operating systems can do the job of mounting the Images , so the need of Daemon-Tools isn't that much needed , it was in the XP days , But as Marcos said it has a malware included with it , Daemon-Tools isn't like before where it was good, not these days. Find something else that works like daemon-tools.

I want to take a look at the Process Monitor what it does output with ESET ON and OFF , I don't have permissions in the forum to download Attachments.

They just force you to upgrade , and sometimes upgrading isn't an option because maybe I want to stay with that version and keep getting security updates because I feel like this version is stable for me , so why you push and force me to upgrade to another version that might break my system and that what it does.

Unfortunately I can't download Attachments I have no permissions , if you post screenshots I could take a look and see if I can do any help.

Can you post the log of the detected threats from the Log ? , Did you scan your PC after the Trojan was detected in realtime by ESET?

As ITman said , No action is the same as ignore , ESET will do nothing to the detected threat whether it was a false positive , PUA , a real threat , no action is no action.

I hope so for Desktop also , it's outdated(I know engines are getting updated) and missing lot of features that are offered in today's version , but still plagued by problems with AppArmor , etc.. Thanks for your efforts ESET team.
