That hang might be because of ESET trying to scan the document that you have opened and/or the email, could you please specify how much time is the hang when you try to open? And your HDD is fast or is it slow in general?

Before the installation it didn't hangup? , like when you try to disable the Endpoint does it help with Office?

Anytime when you have 2 AVs that do scan as real-time then they will cause a conflict or cause problems, you could have a scanner that doesn't scan at real-time to be a backup for your real time anti virus , but both of them running as realtime will just make conflicts and problems. I am glad that you figured it out

Try to load this into a USB and then do a scan for the infected PCs : https://www.eset.com/int/support/sysrescue/ Remember to unplug the infected PCs from the network so the virus cannot spread itself through the network, for more information about Windows recovery you can check here : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415/windows-10-recovery-options If you could ask the people who work on these PCs what really has happened when the PC got infected , which website did they access or what file they have opened might help you also knowing what really has happened or from where did it come.

default root password for ESET SysRescue Live
Nightowl replied to calin.ionut's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
I have tried to Google for the default user and password but nothing could be found about this , there is something wrong I think Maybe the SysRescue is corrupted on the USB? did you try to re-download and re-install it? There is no website even on this forum has listed something like user and password for the SysRescue , the only thing about username and password for the SysRescue is about using a username and password for the update channel which you don't need because SysRescue is a free software. I will try to see why the GUI is freezing. -

Chrome Warning to remove Eset Endpoint Antivirus
Nightowl replied to zhopkins's topic in General Discussion
I also wonder why a Browser isolating itself from any scan/injection could lead to a BSOD , but I never experienced any of this because I don't use Chrome at all. It might be because of ESET is trying to get access to the browser while the browser has isolated itself and is running in mostly a sandbox , but will that cause a BSOD? , I don't know it might be, Just switch to Firefox or any other browser(depending on your preference) till they fix that issue to be in the safe side without errors and BSODs -

It can be , some users are experiencing crashes due to this update and some like you aren't experiencing any troubles but the message from Google Chrome about the incompatibility and asking you to remove your incompatible apps But I prefer to switch browser more than to be without an Anti-Virus while using Windows especially, I don't trust Microsoft to be without anti-virus even though Windows Defender can run in background but I rely more on ESET. -

Chrome has updated their browser and you could say that they have isolated their browser mostly like a sandbox so AVs cannot scan the browser now , so that's why you are getting incompatibility issue. Try to switch to Firefox for now till Google fixes that problem , because as far as I think it should happen with every AV you can use from Windows Defender on to every other AV. -

Just use Firefox/PaleMoon in the meantime till Chrome fixes that problem because you will keep experiencing problems because ESET AV won't stop trying to scan the browser because it has been designed to do so , and Firefox should be lighter on RAM usage that's for the positive thing. Having no problems using Firefox over here and sometimes I do use Palemoon also. Report back if you get any problems -

It's the Chrome's code which points at ESET as incompatible because they have isolated the browser from being scanned/injected in order to prevent malware/viruses from infecting Chrome. Use Firefox in the meantime if Chrome is causing you troubles. -

You will keep getting this message till Google/ESET releases a patch for it , but it's Google's problem more than it's ESET's , switch to Firefox for now and relief yourself from that trouble till they fix it. -
Google recently updated their browser , in their recent update Google decided to prevent scanning/injecting the browser , whether it was an Anti-Virus scanning/injecting or a Virus scanning/injecting , the updated Chrome should block it , that is causing conflicts with ESET and Chrome Till they patch (google or eset) I think you will keep experiencing troubles with Google Chrome , even though if you use another anti-virus , I think Chrome would block it. Try to switch to Firefox till they patch it.
