  1. @Carlos Araujo, "The MachineKeys folder stores certificate pair keys for both the computer and users. Both Certificate services and Internet Explorer use this folder." , I don't think those certificates got to do anything with the ransomware which whether it was WannaCry or Gamma one
  2. To know what apps are installed on your PC through terminal in Linux you can use these commands depending on the dist that you do use : Aptitude-based distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, etc): dpkg -l RPM-based distributions (Fedora, RHEL, etc): rpm -qa pkg*-based distributions (OpenBSD, FreeBSD, etc): pkg_info Portage-based distributions (Gentoo, etc): equery list or eix -I pacman-based distributions (Arch Linux, etc): pacman -Q Cygwin: cygcheck --check-setup --dump-only * Slackware: slapt-get --installed For Mac take a look here : hxxp://osxdaily.com/2015/05/25/list-all-applications-mac-os-x/ Is that what you are looking for?
  3. @Marcos , But still like the Eternal Blue which was exploited by the NSA , It was an exploit that was found and been used by the NSA for a good time while Microsoft was never able to realize that they have this security exploit in their systems, still the NSA never reported about the exploit until it was leaked and used by hackers. What could protect the user from something like this?
  4. Ok didn't know about it that it was available for Android , I thought the only Android application was the Mobile Security Could you please post a screenshot of the settings that you have made inorder to block YouTube?
  5. Are you talking about Parental Control for Android https://www.eset.com/us/home/parental-control-android/ ?
  6. My mistake , I have only tried to resize the GUI of Linux v4 and it works , I thought it would be the same for v12 , I don't have Windows machine near me to test.
  7. @simplicissimus, Can you manually resize ESET Window to fit your screen?
  8. Try to uninstall ESET using ESET Uninstaller https://support.eset.com/kb2289/?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US And then re-install and see if it makes any differences.
  9. I understand this @TomFace, I know that it's up to them what to name their product , as I also was using ESET Smart Security and then switched to Internet Security due to their naming , but them renaming to Security made me think that they might rename ESET Smart Security Premium also , it's only my opinion
  10. When installing V12 , ESET gets renamed to ESET Security , I think in the future we will have ESET Security and then ESET Security Premium which should replace the ESET Smart Security.
  11. They are almost identical to eachother , ESS just have Password Manager and Secure Data over Internet Security.
  12. It's not that big deal in my opinion @nonamelab, It's a way to bring more people to use ESET and in the same time giving the person who invited the other person who doesn't use ESET , a month of usage or more I don't remember exactly.
  13. I am afraid there is no upgrade solution in ESET , unless Admins can give you some kind of upgrade solution, you need to buy license for Internet Security if you want to use it.
  14. Then it's all okay , your router runs normal ports like 80 which is used for http , and 67 for DHCP and 1900 for uPnP. Although uPnP is not recommended to be enabled but it's okay as far as I know.
  15. ESET does still after v12 upgrade will check automatically for updates , is that what you are worried about?
  16. Translation to English would be much appreciated so we can help you.
  17. Nope I didn't come across the news or did read about it anywhere , Haha reading both posts made me remove CCleaner , indeed it was a surprise that's why I was surprised about ESET detecting it as Suspicious Object, but it's a shock , a big AntiVirus company like Avast still cannot detect a malware in one of their programs. or even detect that there was something suspicious in the behavior of the software 2 millions infected machines is a huge number! That's why I prefer Linux over Windows , atleast you don't need to defrag and clean Registry and all of that crazy things Windows will throw at you while you use it with the time.
  18. I have no trouble here with ESET and Steam , What are you trying to do while ESET is blocking Steam?
  19. @TomFace, The hack sounds crazy indeed , I was shocked that even though that the company is acquired by Avast , still got infected by several malware levels. , infecting 2 millions PCs among them, but I still use it from time to time to clean Registry that's why , actually I didn't really know that it was hacked , I was surprised.
  20. As far as I believe and remember correctly I can't test it again , but ESET do block websites/prevent communications in PaleMoon also PaleMoon is built on Firefox source if that might make any hint.
  21. I didn't know about it honestly , but that was a good read if you are interested : https://blog.avast.com/update-ccleaner-attackers-entered-via-teamviewer Are you sure that ESET doesn't filter PaleMoon? , but I don't think that matters , because the first block happened while the browser was trying to save the file , It didn't filter the website , but it did block the executable from being on the PC
  22. Hello, CCleaner is a trusted software as far as I know and it doesn't do any harm , could it be a false positive or my other computer did act up? I've tried both times on different PCs , but each PC gave a different result Laptop I have tried to download CCleaner and ESET has detected it as 'Suspicious Object' and blocked the download from being completed using Chrome and Edge, I have restored it from Quarantine , and I have installed it and ESET didn't warn me again about it after Restoring from Quarantine , and no I didn't exclude it. PC I have tried the download using PaleMoon , and it worked without any trouble without ESET blocking it Both computers do use 12.0.27.0 Internet Security.
  23. Uninstall the device and remove driver files , and then install the one that you have downloaded from AMD site and see if it makes any differences
  24. It's already stated here : https://forum.eset.com/topic/17281-eset-windows-home-products-version-120270-have-been-released/
