  1. @SweX: Yeah I fully agree to you! @Arakasi: Yes I agree to you to. Another example is DriveSecurity.
  2. Although you are right that there many not such good ideas I don't wanted to say "Bad feedback - bug off!". This would be dissuasive and it is also not true, because I find at least one points that is - IMO - quite good. I mean this point: Just to bring it into the right from... Description: Adding an online dashboard where you manage your licenses. Detail: You should be able to delete/move/view your (multi-device) license(s) online. More detail: see this topic: Delete Eset Licences From A Device Or Move It To Another Device / Online License Managment (Please also reply to this topic if it only applies there)
  3. This affects especially a multi device license. I would like to know how I can delete a ESET licence on a device, so I can transfer it to another device. It's also not good that I can see nowhere how many ESET licenses I'm currently using. And because of this two difficult things I would suggest that you - ESET - create something like a "online license management" where you could do this all. I mean you should be able to... view all licenses that are currently in use delete licenses for specific devices so you can use it on another device see how many licenses you have left see what type of devices or what type of ESET product uses the licenses You could link this with "myESET" or maybe not and/or you could make it in such a way that you have to login with your licence data (username and password) online for accessing these features. Only by the way: If this will be implemented then it has a correlation to the topic "AV updates use non-encrypted username / password", because of this two things: If the username/password isn't encrypted and someone steals it he can login online and delete all your licenses for the devices. If someone has stolen your licence and uses it on another device you can see this online and simply can delete this licence on this device.
  4. Hello @Octavian, a great and detailed feedback you gave! Thanks for this! There are many point's and so of course there are also some points that may be discussable or that are already in the product. But there are also many good points you noticed! So please be patient. I'm sure a moderator is answering soon.
  5. Yes "whoami" returns the right username.
  6. Why "Business User Products"? Why not move it to "ESET Mobile Security for Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile"?
  7. Yes you can only restore it if you not already clicked on "Post". Then the auto-save is deleted. Sorry for this, but I hope not so much content got lost.
  8. So this are my test results: 1. Calc.exe started by the schedule Screenshot(s): If I click on "View the message" then it shows the real calculator: Processes: Here you can see that the real calc.exe runs with system privileges. If I click on "Ask me later" then the process which was showing the "error message" exits: So I have to terminate the calc.exe and the UI0Detect.exe to exit all processes, but that's natural, because I don't close calc.exe. If I close calc.exe then it shows: and it closes calc.exe. Only the UI0Detect.exe (under user "system") is still running. 2. Calc.exe started by the schedule manually Screenshot: Processes: Then it is simply running under the current user (but it's elevated): 3. Batch file started by the schedule Screenshot(s): Processes: This was quite the same like with the calc.exe. Exept of the fact that conhost.exe starts every time with the batch but this is normal. A stranger fact is that there is displayed a wrong username (%username% in batch file). More at 4. 3. Batch file started by the schedule manually Screenshot(s): This was also quite similar. And although the "real" username (in it was executed) was the local user (elevated) %username% expands to Win7$. I have to say that the real username would be "Admin" and the computer name was "Win7". I also test it with a batch file putted into an exe, but this changes nothing. Now I only uploaded pictures of the following test, because in all other test are similar to the test before. 4. Batch file that wasn't waiting by the schedule No I tried to run a batch file that did not wait for the user - it only wait a few seconds. And the result was quite the same. I only have to say that every time I saw the "error message" it was minimized and it blinks. Summary No error occurred during my tests, all files started properly. There is one strange fact: The username that is every time wrong. And there are differences between manually and automatic starting with the scheduler. So for you @: Maybe your script runs very quick and so you can't see the normal windows message. I also only tested in with Windows 7. Maybe on other Windows versions there are differences. And again to @all: I uploaded the batch script* which I used and here you can download a Batch To Exe Converter. (there is also an online version available) * virustotal analyse here
  9. So, I think we waited quite long... So what's your answer ESET?
  10. Well we could make our own batch file to test this theory, wouldn't need his. Yes, I'm currently testing it.
  11. It would also good if you could upload the bat and/or exe-file, so we can test it. If it contains sensitive data then delete it before or make a test-batch file without this data.
  12. In this Wikipedia article you can compare ESET Mobile Security for Android to other security software for Android. Wikipedia: Comparison of antivirus software - Google Android (old version) So here the things that EMS actually don't have (according to the Wikipedia article): Firewall - I think this is the worst thing of all (because EMS don't have it compared to some other vendors) Web protection - EMS scans all downloaded files, but is it true that it don't protect against malious websites? Privacy Advisor - OK, it isn't included in the product but you can train yourself online with a valid ESET licence if you are US-American or Canadian. Backup - IMO ESET don't need this. There are other backup soluctions you can use and it's nothing that EMS needs. Parental control - ESS already have it, but EMS not... And there stands it's "Non-free", but there is also a free version. So in truth it's Freemium. (Isn't it?) And there is also another strange fact about the "firewall". EMS for Windows Mobile and for Symbian have a firewall (according to the Wikipedia article), but for Android there is no firewall supported!? So what do you say about this? See also: product overview (PDF) on Google Play Store Edit: Changed link to old version, because some things were changed in the new version of the table.
  13. I don't know what permissions you don't have but you can simply upload pictures. And you can also restore your previously written content, because the editor has an auto-save-function. For more information see my screenshots.
  14. Oh your problem is this: You have enabled interactive firewall and so ESS normally would display a message like "Inbound/Outbound traffic - Do you want to allow?". But because the Gamer Mode of ESS is automatic enabled it prevents all messages from displaying. And so also this message can't be shown and the traffic is blocked. A full description of the problem can you find in the ESET Smart Security User Guide at point "4.1.5 Gamer mode" as a note. You can also find it in the offline help(-file) of ESS. Just open the help under "help and support" --> "Open help" and navigate to "work with ESS" --> "computer" --> "Gamer Mode" or you use this link: mk:@MSITStore:%programfiles%\ESET\ESET%20Smart%20Security\eset.chm::/idh_config_gamer.htm Open this link with IE or just paste it in a "run-box" (in Windows 7 you can paste it in the start menu). I wasn't able to link it directly, because this editor don't supports the mk protocol. Alternatively you can paste this text in the run box: %programfiles%\ESET\ESET%20Smart%20Security\eset.chm::/idh_config_gamer.htm What you can do now: if possible don't play the game in full screen mode (but of course that's not such nice ) disable automatic switch to gamer mode (but then you maybe get also some other messages too) switch the firewall mode to another mode (e.g. automatic mode) create a rule for this connection - here are some ways how to do it:manually create a rule for the game (possibly with the IP address of your friend) in the settings or play the game one time in window mode, then you can see the firewall message and you can create a rule there or (and this is what I recommend) switch the firewall temporary to learning mode, start the game, connect with your friend and then a rule should be created automatically But don't forget to switch back from learning mode after this has done.
  15. I would also recommend SysRescue Live (in this case), because it's much easier to use. You don't have to download Windows AIK or any MSI file. You simply have to download a small "installer" and then you can go on with a few clicks. Try this links: KB article download page
  16. Smart Scan is mostly enough, but you can also make a customized scan and select there "in-depth-scan". It's also good to submit a sample to ESET. You can do this in your ESET software or in the way described by this knowledge base article. P.S: Arakasi was faster... Edit: You can also submit a file directly from the context menu. (see the second screenshot I added)
  17. Sorry but I don't understand you... Could you write full sentences please?
  18. It's really nice that you share it with us. But now I'm also greedy for knowing which malware it was...
  19. How many times we had to say it? This isn't a problem! Please read the posts carefully and then you also understand it. I found your topic about this and there are really no ironic comments or something of this kind. Many users gave constructive answers, tried to help you and @Arakasi even offered remote support. So don't blame this users!
  20. Hello Tweak Arena, I think you misunderstand something. There are some points you should know: This isn't an issue. This is purposeful. ESET don't want to release this update automatic, because it's only a small update and the other reason follow now. This update you talk about contains only some small bug fixes! If you notices bugs that were closed in the new version that you can still - and also very simple - download the installer from the ESET website and run it. The things that (also other AV companies) update very periodically are virus signature database updates. They have to be updated quickly and automatic! To update the program is also good, but no such important. The changes from version 7.0.302.26 to version 7.0.307 are very small. So also the old version normally provides good protection. It works well! You can also have a look at this post. There someone asked whether the new version provides the same protection like the old version.
