Hi,

 

I can not activate one of the computers for a client with Smart Security v9. I am getting 4099 error.

 

- windows updated (Win 7 32-bit) - including optional upgrades - SP1 present

- can reach https://edf.eset.com/edffrom browser (including the proper xml-like response)

- AV remover did not locate any 3rd party software

- ran manual check across installed programs - no conflicting found

- tried to update root certificate manually from the provided link in KB: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2434/#ECP4099- installation of X86 version for win 7 said it is not compatible with this computer - assumption already a newer version present

- proxy settings default (0)

 

Have no idea what to try next. Can you advise?

I suggest you contact your local distributor Eset customer support as stated in the Eset KB link you posted:

 

If you still cannot activate your ESET product, click here to complete a Customer Care support request and receive specific tools and instructions how to resolve the issue and activate your ESET product. We recommend including ESET Log Collector output when submitting a support request.
