Rockermann 0 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I've just downloaded the latest version of each of these. To upgrade, do I just run the install files? Will they update the current installation? If so, should I do one before the other? This is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system. Thanks, Steve
Mr. Natural 2 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 You can install a newer version on top of an older version, but if you are upgrading from v4 to v5 it might be best to uninstall the old first.
Former ESET Employees marty_c 30 Posted June 19, 2013 Former ESET Employees Posted June 19, 2013 Hi Rockermann, If you have version 4.x of ERA installed, I recommend following the steps in the following article: How do I upgrade ESET Remote Administrator to the latest version? Since you are upgrading to ERA 5 from 4, you might want to reference our guide for creating a new policy using settings from ERA 4 and earlier.
Rockermann 0 Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Thanks, guys... I forgot to mention that I have version 5.0.242.0 installed. So, I'll just go ahead and run the upgrades and install over top of the current. Appreciate the help!
Guest Nobody_Special Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Is there any problems running ERA4 with Endpoint 5 clients?
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,232 Posted July 3, 2013 ESET Moderators Posted July 3, 2013 Is there any problems running ERA4 with Endpoint 5 clients? Hello, Endpoint clients use different section ID in configuration .xml so settings changed in v.4 ERA Configuration editor are not applied on Endpoint clients so you need to use ERA v.5 with Endpoints. With ERA v.5 you are able to manage both v.4 and v.5 clients. Regards,
nobody_special 0 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 oh, OK .... This makes sense, the changes made in Configuration Editor of ERA4 was not importing into my Endpoint v5 clients... Thanks
