I've just downloaded the latest version of each of these. To upgrade, do I just run the install files? Will they update the current installation? If so, should I do one before the other? This is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system.

Thanks,

You can install a newer version on top of an older version, but if you are upgrading from v4 to v5 it might be best to uninstall the old first.

Hi Rockermann,

If you have version 4.x of ERA installed, I recommend following the steps in the following article:

Since you are upgrading to ERA 5 from 4, you might want to reference our guide for creating a new policy using settings from ERA 4 and earlier.

Thanks, guys... I forgot to mention that I have version 5.0.242.0 installed. So, I'll just go ahead and run the upgrades and install over top of the current.

Appreciate the help!

Is there any problems running ERA4 with Endpoint 5 clients?

Hello,

Endpoint clients use different section ID in configuration .xml so settings changed in v.4 ERA Configuration editor are not applied on Endpoint clients so you need to use ERA v.5 with Endpoints.

With ERA v.5 you are able to manage both v.4 and v.5 clients.
