ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,084 Posted April 12, 2017 ESET Moderators Share Posted April 12, 2017 Hello Hungtt, the ESET service runs under the local system account, does it have access to that folder? It should be accessible for Everyone. In case granting the access rights won't help. I would recommend you to switch to http service, you just need to open the port on server's firewall. ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,084 Posted April 18, 2017 ESET Moderators Share Posted April 18, 2017 Hello Hungtt, user is probably logged in as an user from that domain, that is why it works. Try to access the shared local folder as a local (not domain) user or even better as local system. Regards, P.R.
Administrators Marcos 4,935 Posted April 18, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 18, 2017 I'd suggest distributing update files via an http server instead of local shares to avoid hassles with rights and the limit for the number of concurrent connections that operating systems have. Ideally you should use an http proxy instead of a local mirror which will also reduce the amount of data downloaded from ESET's update servers. I am using IIS to distribute the updates and have a second folder where I store the A/V packages for easy distribution within my network. Any will work though, Apache, Nginix, etc.

What I think is that you need to enable "Anonymous access to network shares", see for example this article. Be aware that this configuration may not be secure.
