  1. I have that thing turned off since day one with Windows 10 Pro. I also have driver updates turned off on three machines and haven't seen an attempt to even try. To predict updates someone would have to be an MS insider.
  2. IP 192.168.1.1 is an IP address from your router. Port 53 is for DNS server. I would not block it, but try it to see what happens. If something breaks, just unblock it.
  3. Yes to V 9. SSL is same as https. Not up on protocols.
  4. Just going through some default settings and noticed that this is turned off under Web Access Protection. Any good reason to turn it on in todays world ?
  5. Until others post, It should look like this shot. I would try a reinstall over the top or uninstall and reinstall
  6. The driver updates in device manager are not very reliable since they come from Windows Update. Most of driver updates are not needed and can cause problems. The ones for Lan, WiFi, Audio and video for stand alone video cards are usually safe from the vendor. Laptops are a totally different animal. Get them from the manufacturer. Although I have never had a problem with WAN, LAN or Audio (Realtek) from those vendors. I once purchased a driver update program, waste of time and money.
  7. Akamai is a well known company for hosting software updates and various other stuff. It is also a "man in the middle" for many companies with no bad intentions. Could be some software is using them for updates and to pass information to that company.
  8. Haven't noticed a problem on three Win 10 machines.
  9. I can see a possible "trouble" with both pictures. I noticed on my three machines, the Windows Firewall and Network & Sharing that my connection showed Public and I am on a Private Network. I searched and found a way to make the change to Private. Apples or oranges the change made be feel better.
  10. I turned on HIPS logging and got many errors about Roboform trying to access another program. They went by so fast, I am not sure of the rest. Thought it may have been because I am testing IPV6. Or something about a task bar icon, which I have "turned off". Any help with a rule I can stick in to find out ? Tnx ERROR Time;Application;Operation;Target;Action;Rule;Additional information 6/16/2016 5:57:15 PM;C:\Program Files (x86)\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\robotaskbaricon.exe;Get access to another application;C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Smart Security\egui.exe;some access blocked;Self-Defense: Protect ekrn and egui processes;Get access to another application
  11. No, they are automatic download/install now. Even with the "Pro" version and many people do not like it. I just did a clean install on this machine and have to kill driver updates if I still can. The worst thing is that updates can be installed any time which makes doing an image of the drive before updates hard.
  12. Thank you, think I will wait moving from SS 9 because of possible pricing and compatibility changes. Will decide when ESET knows what they are doing.
  13. No problem x3 here. Of course your mileage may vari !
  14. The only problem I have is with people bashing any software who rather complain than ask for help. All products have certain things that are a little confusing to many people, me included, but we learn how to use that product. This is not the only forum I see the same stuff over and over. Those people should buy a computer and use every piece of software that was pre-installed then try to get help from the manufacturer. Good luck. You should try telling doctors and lawyers how to use a telephone, 47 years was enough for me!!!! lol PS.....I only changed a few things from default to make life easier for me.
  15. I looked at the certs in this laptop I clean installed Win 10 on and not too many certs. One desktop that went from 7 > 8 > 8.1 > 10 must have every one still installed and never cleaned out. No problem, but strange.
  16. Yes. Didn't know how many read that forum. I don't on a regulator basis.
  17. Interesting hxxp://blogs.msmvps.com/alunj/2016/05/26/untrusting-the-blue-coat-intermediate-ca-from-windows/
  18. A top level security certificate was given to a company that maybe shouldn't have it. hxxp://blogs.msmvps.com/alunj/2016/05/26/untrusting-the-blue-coat-intermediate-ca-from-windows/
  19. If you read that about another product, why are you even here ? Buy that one !!!
  20. I had exactly that happen yesterday. Just rebooted. Windows 10 Pro.
