You did not say how old the laptop is. I hope it is sitting on a hard flat surface and not on something that blocks air flow.

I get this warning on Weather.com

How did you install the OS ? If from the restore, the ssd would not be set up properly. A clean install would have have done the job ok. Also does the sata versions match I, II, III ?

Get rid of the tech instead. Something is "fishy" there. Just my observation. I will leave to ponder if that is even possible.

Fixed. Network got changed to Public instead of Private.

Installed 377 over 375 and had all kinds of problems. Did complete uninstall with Revo Uninstaller. Reinstalled 377 again. Not using web installer, direct download. Now Anti-Stealth HIPS is bad. Log says communication with driver failed. HIPS filtering mode is Automatic. The only security program installed since version 375 installed was Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. I did restart computer more than once. If there is a uninstall program around I will try it if needed. I can go back to 375.

I got "got" with a zip file that subject looked like something I was waiting for. The stuff can come in many forms lately so one has to be careful in all respects. I don't know all the ways it can infect off hand, but I do know one way !!

There are 4 computers, 3 are mine plus a bunch of Android and IOS things around here. The only thing networked is a wireless printer that I do not use. I haven't even looked how the printer is on the network. It is being used by a 8.1 computer, mine all 10 Pro. If you use a Workgroup, you can choose what computer and folders get shared or share nothing at all. Mix and match so to speak. When I had my own network set up, I never shared the root of the C: drive which may not be allowed any way, never tried because of a concern like yours.

I guess a reinstall of Eset SS would be the last of my strange ideas. Good luck, let us know when it gets cured.

Smart Security If you right click on a shortcut, it shows the path to the program. If you use the right arrow you can see if anything has been added. BE CAREFUL so you don't delete it. When I use my bank site there is nothing else open in the browser. No tabs NOTHING. I don't use a "safe" browser since I don't understand how it works. Try it for a time without tabs or anything else.

Check out your desktop shortcuts that may be involved to make sure nothing was added. This is a bummer to check out, tasks in task manager. Sounds like a "path ?" got added somewhere. Reinstall SS Reboot the computer more than once. Is that a game open is the background ? Nothing should be open when accessing a banking site. Like everyone else these are just guesses

Where was the mouse pointer when you left ? I have had table movement move my mouse pointer. Never know !!

I uncheck a rule and when I try to get out of the firewall settings, I don't get the option to save. I just worked doing what I did before.

It would not even download the file to begin with.

Found because of this Flash Player stuff. When I exit settings I get asked to not save changes. Where is the option to allow changes.

When I disabled Protection, nothing would download. When I enabled Protect and Disabled Firewall Flash installed. Never had this problem before and nothing in the Firewall was changed. The firewall is in policy based mode. There was a rule for Flash update

Driver updates are not normally necessary if everything is working the way it should, same as bios updates. Microsoft has no way of knowing the millions of hardware combinations out in the wild. WU driver updates have been known for years to not be trusted. Many of us have had problems and learned the hard way. I happen to be one of the "nuts" that does bios updates and have been very lucky. Between 7, 8 and 10 there have been numerous bios updates to make hardware work with each OS. At least I am not involved with Voice Mail systems anymore and never had to use Windows when I did. At least OS/2 almost never crashed.

Driver updates is Windows Update biggest problem. I let WU do it twice and got burned. If I remember, there is a way to disable driver updates, but forgot where to look now. hxxp://www.thewindowsclub.com/stop-windows-7-from-installing-drivers-automatically Works for Windows 10 also.

I have that "feature" turned off. In my opinion trying to guess when Microsoft will do anything is plain dumb. You just have to wait for Windows Update to work it's magic. You can also go to Settings > Update and Security > Advanced Options for more information. The Home edition of Windows 10 has no settings a user can change and the Pro version has some options to change. I can only guess about the Home version because I have pro installed x 3.

I do mutual exclusions for all my security programs.

I am moving to a third party backup program.

My ipad 4 and Windows 10 has trouble signing in WiFi only being used. Chasing my tail with Apple help !!! Any good sites other than Apple. Even a usenet group is useless. Could this be a router port problem, Comcast ? A search here didn't help.
