Oh I don't plan on giving up, never give up.... I just started going in circles and got dizzy. I'll be better in a few days.

Then it's configured wrong on two of my PC's. It was showing up as a blocked connection on both and from each other. I'm pretty much out of ideas and web searches for a solution other then what I have now, both denied including the the Trusted zone. I figure it's not going to do much of anything now. It's just the other computer that is the showing the blocked connections now. Nothing shows up on this system. I've spent a couple of days reading stuff I know very little about. I'll give it a break for a while.

Thanks itman. I couldn't figure out why the Google Chrome on another computer in the network would want to connect to this one. I denied it for a while and recently created a rule to just block it. That's my usual procedure in dealing with things I don't understand, deny and see if anything gets screwed up and if not create a rule. Certainty not the best method.

I have had the same request and have blocked it for now. The request I receive is from Google Chrome on another computer on the network. I'll be interested in the response.

I'm pretty sure the issue started in the 10.1.x release I recently did a reinstall and 10.390.0 installed. I don't remember how long it took but Eset automatically updated to the latest release.

What build do you have?

I thought a couple of screen shots may help to go along with what peteyt posted. I always have trouble remembering where the setting is.

It should be fine else Eset v9.x wouldn't offer to do the install. However, between major version changes I like to do a clean install. It's a personal choice unless directed otherwise. For me, I have the opportunity to start with fresh rules and settings.

Just in case Eset should consider this. I request that it be add it to a Premium type version and leave the Eset Internet Security version in it's present light weight state. It's hard to beat the protection and ease of use at under, right now, 55 MB of RAM and 0% CPU. That way if people want the additional tools they can support it by purchasing the "Super Premium" version at an additional cost. I have no interest in more bells and whistles. All I want Eset to do is protect my systems and it does that exceptionally well right now.

I just completed my update to EIS with v10.1.204 and I find the system tray icon right click menu to be the same as v10.0.390. Ooops My bad I don't have it either....

I agree about a second, even a third, opinion but I'm not sure that Malwarebytes is the one to use. I've been using Hitman Pro on demand in lieu of Malwarebytes. for a second opinion scan. It's easy on system resouces and free to scan but a license is required for it to clean what it finds. I use Super Anti-Spyware on demand as well. For the paronid days I have several other titles to do on demand scans Aside from an occasional warning from EIS regarding a suspicious/blocked website, I'm happy to say that nothing has been found, ever. I attribute that to the fine Eset products I've used over the years. Of course an on demand scan is way different then running Malwarebytes Premium along side EIS. This I find to be rather cumbersome and question the need. .

I'd like to know if there is any real advantage to having Malwarebytes installed along side EIS. Most all of the my searches on the subject refer to Malwarebytes in it's previous form and to Eset v9.x or earlier. I have not reinstalled MBAM nor do I want to unless there is clearly an increase in the protection to my excellent running Win7 Pro x64 system.

I have been using Eset for quite a number of years in Interactive mode and have never had the issue you describe. My apologies, my response was to assist with a rapid response to mitigate damages caused by an operator error.

The purpose of "interactive mode" is to allow "you" to decide about connections. If you feel that you have accidentally allowed any incoming or outgoing connections the easiest and fastest solution would be to edit the rule and either block, disable or delete the rule you created. If you want to stop the connection immediately right click on the Eset Icon in the system tray and select "Block all Network Traffic" until you get things sorted out remembering to once again allow network traffic once you have finished. Turning off the ability to create a rule pretty much negates the purpose of interactive mode.

I am not a Hybrid OS user. Simply Windows 7 Pro and Premium both x64, separate systems of course. I'm not having any issues with EIS on either system. Based on my own personal use I must disagree. While I will admit that there is a bit of an up hill learning curve if you are using anything but "Automatic" mode. I use Interactive mode on the Pro machine and Automatic on the Premium. I used both ESS and ESSP without issues as well. However both provided options that were either duplicates to programs already installed or simply not necessary for my use @cyberhash: I agree regarding "lack of experience and knowledge." However that's why Eset provides the Automatic mode. I consider the running of two AV's or duplicate real time protections a self induced issue. While I have several second opinion titles installed they are on demand only. It is unfortunately the common thought that more is better when it comes to protection when in fact it isn't.

.I have EIS v10.0.390.0 On my Windows 7 x64 Pro system and a lifetime licensed user of MBAM I tried several v3 releases but because of the problems, which were many, I have removed it. I found it to be to much of a hassle for the reward of using it. I'll wait till they get the kinks out to see if it works. If it does, great. This is not to say that you may install it and be on your way. At the very least I would strongly recommend that you make an image of your drive prior to installing v3
