Actually, there are 32 bit and 64 bit versions of each Home edition product. You can find all of them here, 32 bit and 64bit versions, ensure you download the respective one for your OS. ESET all home versions

Looks like a FP, I would add House call to the exclusions list in advanced settings > antivirus & antispyware > exclusions Do you have Enable detection of potentially unsafe applications enabled ? If so, you could also uncheck that if it falls in that category. If it falls under the unwanted or unsafe category, its not considered an FP, but an accurate detection, and you would simply need to exclude the directory.

automatic update eset node 32 version 4 from server directly
Arakasi replied to ahmedsa's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Hello, We need a little bit of clarification. Are you using ESET Endpoint Antivirus ? Or Nod32 ? Do you have Eset Remote administrator console installed on the server residing on the same network as clients ? Do the endpoints not update on their own ? They are suppose to. You can set it for update from ERA local server, or ESET servers. This is regarding definition and module updates. Upgrading the actual software from lets say version 4 to 5 is a different process and you can perform that from ERA also. Regarding you question, the best i can answer with right now, is in the advanced setup of the endpoint under Update settings. Or through the policy manager built in to ERA. I am still unsure what answers to give you without more detail on your current setup ! Thanks -
Hi, This is a flaw with WMI and Security Center. Go to Administrative tools in control panel, and launch services. Find Security Center and check that it is set to Automatic. Stop the service. Find Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and stop that service too, make sure its automatic. Rename the following directory C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository to Repository.old Restart the computer and check if Security center reports ESET correctly !

Here is what i suspect is happening. Parental controls uses a different DNS then the one provided by your ISP in your router/modem. When the child profile in question attempts to launch Internet explorer and visit a site. It requests the IP from ESET's DNS and checks against your rules or theirs. Your computer must contact 224.0.0.252 which will convert website to IP and allow you to visit. If the learning mode does not allow the creation of these allowed rules, and since the child account cannot respond to rule changing due to requiring admin access or Parent control access, i would say this could be a flaw. I would have thought that ESET had the dns already allowed in the program but, Interactive mode is a different and very strong way of using a firewall. How does it act in automatic mode with rules ? One thing to keep in mind. The DNS request is being blocked by the firewall, and if you were to allow an exception for that DNS, parental controls might begin to work as intended. 224.0.0.252 IP to add to exception. Its buried deep in the program, but its something like this : Advanced settings > Network > Personal firewall > Rules and zones > Setup under editor > Rules tab > New > Remote tab and add IPv4 address allow for udp. Maybe this will resolve the issue ? Let us know if you get stuck or if it helps !

I don't think the rules arent getting created properly and there are more that could be popping up in interactive mode. Child accounts cannot approve the creation of rules so they will automatically get blocked. Reinstall ESET, switch to learning mode, turn on your parental accounts. Use it that way for at least a full 24 hours including using the child account to browser. Then switch to interactive mode the following day.

Startup scan is running ignoring my settings

Smart optimization. None of your files have changed so it skips em all...... (0.5 secs) You're safe. -
Hi nickster. I would say try switching the firewall to learning mode under the child account, and then launch the browsers. If it works without disabling, switch the firewall mode back to its original, and try again. If it still fails to work correctly, you will need to delete the rules for IE and firefox, and create them again, using learning or interactive mode.

eset support is the worst - won't buy their product again
Arakasi replied to noeffort's topic in General Discussion
Hello, Did someone in support tell you this ? Because they don't verbally say we will call you back in 24 hours. Or did you leave a message. ( the message says we will contact you back in 24.) Why would you leave a message and expect fast turnaround for your customers needing an answer now ? I have to call ESET everyday because i am a distributor. I am also a Network admin for multiple companies just like you. When i call the San Diego office for support, the hold times can be from 3 minutes to 30 minutes or more; however i will always wait for someone to pick up if my questions are dire. You cant just hang up and then complain, or leave a message and complain about fast response. I always have my questions answered right then and there, or i schedule my appointments with level 3 and they are always ready at the scheduled time. I understand this is constructive criticism, and there are some areas in support that need to be better handled (example: voicemail cases not being contacted). However what you are describing is like an oxymoron, it doesn't really happen unless under certain conditions. If you have answers that you cant wait for on the phone, leave a forum post or thread anyway, some of us answer very quickly here on the forums, or send me a PM, and i will help get you your answers, simply because i have a handful of contacts in the company, from sales engineers to managers, have met a few researchers as well. -
oglotodp?
Arakasi replied to m610's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium & ESET Security Ultimate
Mike, That is your phantom account for Anti-theft. Don't log on to it, or remove it. You may be able to re-name the user account on your my.eset.com page under Settings to something other then oglotodp. Maybe John or your first name* pm for details. Hope this clears it up.
