  2. Hello, Good question. " In situations where the operating systems are running simultaneously, one license per virtual machine is required. " Reference: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2393 However, keep in mind, you can move your license from computer to computer, but never use 1 license on two computers at the same time. -a hint
  3. Thanks Dutch man. Nope not a beep. Edit: I've never seen that a quoted link automatically changes to hXXp:// before now. I made it hxxp purposefully to ensure passer-by don't download without creating the link manually. (Happy clickers) It does have PUA embedded, and it is not ESET software at all. Then I really must have clicked on it before you edited your post, because I didn't need to edit the link in any way it was "blue" and clickable. In any case it's good that you did that as you never know when a Happy Clicker drives by. I just thought the admin had changed something in the forum software wich made it change automatically that's all. What do you mean with (and it is not ESET software at all? I guess you mean it's not detected by ESET software at all? Correct !

  6. Is it detected by ESET if we got PUA detections enabled? Just curious The way its embedded, i think it is NOT detected by ESET. However i use Endpoint at work, and Home versions elsewhere. Would need to try downloading it at home. It may be P unsafe A ?
  7. Would also add that Slim drivers is the best utility by far i have found that will go out there and find the correct and most up-to-date driver available. 98% effective, sometimes it will pull a previous driver. It will find your chipset drivers, hd controller drivers, sata drivers, video and sound drivers. Any third party hardware you plug into expansion slots, or usb ports etc. Do not download and use the full version. The slim is by far superior, only 1 device at a time. It also has an AVG toolbar pua, so deselect that option when installing.
  8. In short, you can't. You can add your license to version 2, and only by downloading from ESET's site, not Google Play. If you download from Google Play, you have to make the purchase through Google Play for activation. Hope this helps clear things up.
  9. Official release today: https://forum.eset.com/topic/2146-eset-mobile-security-for-android-service-release-version-208680-has-been-released/
  10. 3 is in BETA phase. 2 is the official release right now. BETA is free at the moment.
  11. Hello, You need to uninstall the one you have from Google play, and download the Mobile Security from ESET's website. This is the US based site : hxxp://www.eset.com/us/download/home/detail/family/25/
  12. I did not notice this question until now. My apologies Goldenyears. The statement i made about usb storage devices, is simply because you can carry threats to and from on usb media. Having a good security product that scans USB media can help you with still accessing your data. I recommend having ESET installed to scan your usb media, however in the off chance, you do not have ESET, or you do not have the budget to purchase software, then i recommend MCshield for USB. It is completely free, and would be a secondary choice to ESET for usb media. MCShield
  13. Hi Stoney ! I would love to entertain the notion and possibly ask you to give us an example, maybe one you experienced recently other then CCleaner ? Throw in a little details, add some screen shots if you would be so kind, and we can give you a definitive answer to your question. Sometimes certain packages will contain multiple threats in one file, or the specific trojan may replicate itself to multiple locations of the system, ie All drives, registry, memory, network share and into another machine all at once. This would possible give you 3 or 4 dialogues 1 for each threat. Might i add that, you can change the settings to allow the program to automatically make a decision based off user defined settings, you can click the corner of the dialogues and close all notifications at once, and you can also set the program not to notify you at all as well. Whatever way you would like to set up your security software, we're here to help, just ask how you would like to see it behave ~
  15. Awesome, very much look forwarded to reading. Thank you for your work and willing to share your knowledge to everyone.
  16. Personal offense? It's more of a product Good vs Bad offense I would say. But fine, next time I will consider to keep my positive ESET experience for myself. And let the negativity run free I think he means no further offense towards Tweak because, everyone is now neutral by default until the troubleshooting and performance issue evaluation between vendor and client is completed through to resolution.
  17. Android is linux, runs a linux kernel, and the front facing is purely a google designed java based VM called Dalvik. Windigo is targeting Unix servers.
  18. Hello Stoney, I'm sorry to say this, and its only because i hope we can enlighten you, but you have a tremendous amount to learn about information security, as well as the product you are using. CCleaner has two installers. 1, that is bundled with toolbars and advertisements, (This is only a recent move by Piriform) 2, one that is only CCleaner Have a look here : https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds About the many pop ups, and what Marcos was stating, you have the option of excluding detection of CCleaner's 3 or 4 pop ups, if you would just add it to the exclusions list. How do I exclude files or folders from scanning in ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus? Regarding potentially unwanted applications, this is a good short read by ESET: What is a potentially unwanted application? Basically if you don't want to experience this, you can exclude PUA from detection completely by going to Advanced (F5 from main menu) > Antivirus and Antispam, and deselecting Enable detection of Potentially unwanted applications. However the PUA detection is what makes ESET outperform all the rest of the AV vendors. Toolbars and PUA's are the new type of threat on the web, they are some of the worst things to allow on your system. Toolbars do nothing but slow down your computer, open backdoors to allow trojans and worse, as well as change your homepage, cripple your browser and even worse, sometimes can never be removed. The worst are a few like ( Ask toolbar, Conduit, ) Have a funny read here on reddit : I am a toolbar developer, your browsers worst nightmare. I will stick around and hopefully assist you in understanding why you have these pop ups, and to show you the rest of the vendors are way behind the industry, because of it. Thanks for choosing a great product for security like ESET, but we're not done yet, and im sorry for your troubles and bad taste from all the pop-ups. I hope we can help you.
  19. I will be interested to see this, and if it's followed through to resolution.
  20. Here we are ... I was saying i have windows 8.1 also, running the same. STILL 6 / 6 in performance on a totally different computer. Pic attached for proof.
  21. Hello, You can easily check here: hxxp://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=forum.eset.com and here : hxxp://www.digicert.com/help/ and @ thawte https://ssltools.thawte.com/checker/views/certCheck.jsp All returning valid. By any chance are you using ESET Nod32 or Smart Security for protection at the moment ? If so, are you utilizing the SSL Protocol scanning?
  22. Your bold statement goes hand-in-hand with your signature Swex.
  23. On a scale from 0-6, is 3.6 the score you would give it yourself while running on your desktop ? It is my understanding that some testing companies do not reveal what scenarios they used in the testing procedures, but simply the specs of the computer and the scores of other companies as well. Some explain that they are transferring files, or using office products like Word or Excel. Reference for AV Test: hxxp://www.av-test.org/en/test-procedures/test-modules/performance/ Okay, so what are the specs of the testing performed recently ? No one knows ? What kind of desktops ? There are too many variables and too little information provided for myself to make a judgement on the results. While i understand the companies performing these tests have been around a while, i cannot simply rely on what they say. Sorry, im not that gullible when it comes to my own system. I go by what i think not by what some company is saying. I would not give ESET a score of 3 on my desktop, which contains the following: EVGA 780i - MOBO Intel qx9650 - Proc 3.0ghz Oced to 4.1ghz Evga gtx770 - Video Card Ultra 1000w - PSU Mushkin 5-5-5-15 DDR2 800 Oced to 5-6-6-21 (1000mhz) - 6GB Memory OCZ Revodrive x3 Pci-ex SSD - OS Drive Windows 7 64bit Home Premium I would rate the performance in all aspects a 6 out of 6. Not a 3.5 out of 6 That being said, i hope we have concluded the entire reason of the responses in this thread. ( Majority of ESET users dispute the results of said testing, stipulating they receive different results and higher performance during computer usage! )
  24. Thanks KOR for your feedback. I can only suggest that if you are unhappy with windows 8 due to the major changes, i recommend installing Classic Shell from this site: hxxp://www.classicshell.net/ It does help a little.
