Please create a dump of ekrn.exe via the Task manager (Create Dump File) when you notice a memory leak, compress it, upload it to a safe location. When done, drop me a pm with the download link.

This is due to a certain condition applied by the emulator. We're working on a solution which will prevent files like this from being flagged by advanced heuristics which should be released soon (ie. within a few days).

ESET Endpoint AV 5.0 not recognized by Windows 7 Action Center
Marcos replied to rpremuz's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
This would be possible but only with Self-defense disabled (e.g. by applying an ERA policy). You could then apply a GPO which will remove the above mentioned registry key and eventually you'd enable Self-defense again. -
Please report the alleged FP to ESET as per the instructions here and enclose information about the purpose of the software and the official download url to a beta or final version of the software. The software must perform some operations or activities that are evaluated as suspicious by advanced heuristics.

you arrived late to the party. I suggest you read the entire thread and you will see that I was already provided with a solution instead of just posting nonesense I agree , you should really ask a question before posting nonsence. Getting angry and typing nonsence on a public forum, when things don't work to your timescale wont get you anywhere. We explained what was unclear and Tweak Arena apologized. We'll draw this thread to a close.

Yeah, it's been a common practice to release products on smaller markets first so that potential fixes can be implemented before releasing it to larger markets. Although beta versions are tested thoroughly both internally and by thousands of beta testers, it's never possible to simulate all system and program configurations. As for support for new operating systems or service packs, ESET has always offered support for them at the time they became available to the public. In the case of Windows 8.1 build 9600, HIPS module 1095 was released for all users on September 30 and Anti-Stealth module 1052 on September 9 and no known issues with Windows 8.1 have been reported yet.

Hello Tweak Arena, We are really sorry to see you go. We fully understood your concerns, but we feel responsible to respond to your suggestions. ESET works closely with its partner network to meet any local market requirements as well as launch dates. We are open to agreement with our local partners on individual launch dates when the situation requires so and technical readiness allows. The current release version of ESET home products 6.0.316 is fully compatible with Windows 8.1. After installation and activation, your ESET product will update the modules to the most current version to ensure smooth operation on Windows 8.1 (a computer restart will be needed). ESET Version 7 BETA will update to the final version automatically without uninstalling (same registry keys and files on the disk will be used), so you don’t have to worry about it messing up the registry on your freshly installed OS. regards, Marcos

Please try disabling Self-defense, restart the computer and try to reproduce the issue. Are you positive that with HIPS and Self-defense disabled the issue doesn't occur?
-
ESET merely notifies you about the components that are available for update. If you change the severity of updates you want to be notified about to let's say Critical updates in the advanced ESET setup, it shouldn't notify you about less critical updates.
-
Please provide information about the exact version of EAV and modules installed (found in the About window) so that we can reproduce it on our end. Is it Windows 7 x86 or x64? Does the problem persist after disabling Self-defense and restarting the computer?

We haven't edited them yet, the KB team should fix it soon.

There are several variants of the police ransomware Ukash / LockScreen released in relatively short intervals. ESET utilizes effective mechanisms to ensure that users are protected against new variants either proactively or in as short time as possible after the authors unleash new variants to the world.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus 7 & Windows 8: Problem with HIPS
Marcos replied to Mannik's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Did you update v7 after installation and restarted the computer? What build of Windows 8 are you using? (run "winver" to find out)
