  1. The url does not seem to work any more. It was one of several thousands scam domains that scare you by throwing fake errors and that lure money from you for fake support.
  2. In the main ESET gui, navigate to Setup -> Network -> Troubleshooting wizard.
  3. It's required for Anti-Theft to locate your phone in case it goes missing.
  4. Does temporarily disabling the firewall make a difference? If so, I'd suggest running the Firewall troubleshooting wizard to get a list of recently blocked communications. The wizard enables you to allow particular desired communication with one or two clicks.
  5. Currently we don't have a product for Chrome OS. Maybe in the future we will support it but no preliminary dates have been set yet.
  6. You'll need to use software intended for monitoring visited websites. ESET logs only malicious ones, those you block manually via the custom blacklist as well as those that are blocked by category by Web Control.
  7. It appears that the threat was handled so you can resolve is manually. If it continues to be detected, open the Firefox setup and check how automatic proxy configuration url is set. You may need to change it to "No proxy" manually.
  8. Create a new Web control URL-based rule for that website and place it above the blocking rule.
  9. You should never exclude "c:\program files" or another folder where malware often resides. Exclusions create a security hole so you should avoid using them unless no other solution is available and using specific exclusions is relatively safe.
  10. I'm sorry but your question is not clear enough. What kind of threat did you find in your network? Did ESET detect it? If so, what was the detection name? Did ESET fail to clean it? If so, what error message did you get?
  11. Please let us know if temporarily disabling web access protection or protocol filtering in the advanced setup make a difference.
  12. The domain was serving adware in the past so I would be careful about downloading the "free" software from there. If you suspect a file or url to be blocked incorrectly, report it to ESET as per the instructions at http://support.eset.com/kb141.
  13. I did not get such a warning, however, the system froze after installing EEK and updating it.
  14. Before v10 you could choose from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Smart Security and a Multi-device security pack for 4 users. What has recently changed is that ESET Smart Security has been replaced with ESET Internet Security (ESS without Anti-Theft) and a new product ESET Smart Security Premium has been added. On page https://www.eset.com/int/home/smart-security there's a list of products for home users along with an overview of features that particular products offer. As I was informed by colleagues from the US: "You do not have to renew through them, it just defaults that way if you originally purchased there. What you can do is call in and let sales know you want to purchase directly through ESET and that is okay."
  15. Thank you for the heads-up. The issue has been reported to developers.
  16. To clean malware in MBR, you'll need to boot to Windows Recovery Console and run the command "fixmbr".
  17. I don't think it's necessary to enable that option. That would be probably enabled for a certificate that you may use to sign particular emails and that confirms the authenticity of the sender. @mantra As for portable browsers or email clients, you would need to export the root certificate and import it manually in such application.
  18. Hello, if you want also additional features like Password manager or Disk encryption included in ESET Smart Security Premium, you can upgrade your license for a small upgrade fee. For more information and exact price, please contact the distributor or seller from whom you purchased your license. If you don't need either of the 2 new features, simply use ESET Smart Security v10 or ESET Internet Security (doesn't contain Anti-Theft).
  19. Some time soon. No exact release date has been set yet. You can switch to pre-release updates in the advanced update setup to get the module sooner.
  20. Does temporarily disabling web access protection actually make a difference? If not, what about temporarily disabling protocol filtering in the advanced setup? What operating system do you use? Does the issue manifest with any browser? Do you observe the issue on http, https sites or on both? Did you have another antivirus or security software installed prior to ESET? Please gather logs with ESET Log Collector as per the instructions in my signature and drop me a pm with the output archive attached.
  21. Support for the Roboform v8.2 extension will be added in the next version of the Banking and payment protection module.
  22. They made some mistakes not only with regard to ESET so I assume an amended version of the report to be available soon.
  23. The reason why I was unable to reproduce it with v8 was that I didn't reboot the computer after update. It will be fixed as of the HIPS module 1268.
  24. Just in case, did you actually use a correct license key for activation? You've mentioned that you're upgrading EEA to EES so you must use a license key issued for ESET Endpoint Security to activate it.
  25. See http://support.eset.com/kb141 for instructions how to report possible false positives to ESET.
