Weekly Scan Issues

ESET Endpoint Antivirus Version 6.4.2014.0 on Win 7 32 bit O/S

These issues were encountered during a regular weekly scan of two internal hard drives approximately 232 GB each + one Western Digital MyBook external drive at 1.3 TB.

Scanning all targets via hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2909/?locale=en_USscan setup on scheduler is listed as weekly "in depth scan" - not to be confused with Smart Scan which I never use.

Question Plus issues -

Why does it take 3.5 hours to scan all these drives ? Email file scanning is disabled.

Why (or) is it normal to see numerous scan dialog boxes during the scan ? (see screen capture)

When scan is completed the scan results are not kept on the UI after a reboot although they should for further review. I see this as a bug.  Can no longer dismiss the scan results dialogue.

In-depth scan has smart optimization disabled so virtually every single file is scanned each time. If you want to run scheduled scan on a regular basis, it's good to use the Smart scan profile which would skip trustworthy files from scanning.

I've enabled Smart Optimization as it's not enabled by default. Not everyone has countless hours determining if these settings are all optimal.

I will not use Smart Scan in lieu of an in-depth Weekly Scan as recommended by ESET.

Can you send us your scheduler profile? 5 scan boxes indicates, that there are 5 scans happening at the same time, which might indicate problem with configuration.

If you mean screen captures, see attached. If no, please elaborate.  I do agree with your statement that numerous scans at once indicates issues.

What is configured in the "action to take, if the task is not run at the specified time"?
What I have seen in the screenshots is, that the each scan was started with +1 minute after the previous one. So can you please send us the details of the scan profile (try to edit).

I mean this screen:

I have changed the value or parameter in the Skipped Task box to "At Next Scheduled Time"

The in-depth scan now completes in about 1.5 hours. I am following up here as you didn't provide closing remarks.
