MajorGeeks is a fine website! Used them for 10 years and never had any malware at all.

What one doesn't need is to download the beta from there ;)

It's crapware you have to watch for. See hxxp://www.howtogeek.com/207692/yes-every-freeware-download-site-is-serving-crapware-heres-the-proof/

And yes TJP, I know you've used them for quite sometime https://forum.eset.com/topic/1784-cc-cleaner/

I respect your opinion.

Of course, you need to watch  whatever you download from wherever. Always read the fine print.

We all have our own procedures. I just prefer to go to the originating source.

OK, it's true that you have to be careful about everything you download from every site. However, MajorGeeks has been the only software distributors I trust. BTW, this beta has been working fine so far on Windows 10.

I agree 120%! I have been using MajorGeeks for *years*, visiting several times daily as they update very frequenctly. I have NEVER got anything bad at all, ever, never. They are great at having releases well before they appear on the program makers' own sites.

If somebody catches something from MajorGeeks, they should not be using the internet as NO site will ever be safe enough for them.

As I respect your opinion TomFace; I agree that downloading from the originating source is often the best course of action :)

The reason I really like and defend MajorGeeks is that (a) give the user the option to download from the author's website, (b) they test the software that is listed on their website and, (b) MG tag products that include PUP’s and/or run advertisements in some way. Often they'll explain how to avoid installing these optional extras too which is great for the novice PC user.

Cheers.
